There is nothing wrong with any of the new blocks, the rest of the updates just seem so uninspired and empty. Why have caves been left untouched since mineshafts and ravines were added?

In my opinion, 1.11.2 was perfect.
Everything added after that point was unnecessary, and completely flowed against the feel of the game.

First played in 2011, i remember spawning in a field of roses and harvesting a bunch of them before it became night, then hiding in a small hole in a wall i made that eventually became my house for that playthrough.
Computer died a few weeks later so it didn't last too long unfortunately.

The most time i spent in minecraft was during the glorious Tekkit combo of Industrialcraft/Buildcraft/Redpower

The whole "build an automated factory with transport belts and shit" genre is not nearly as barren as it used to be during Tekkits heyday.

I like it, the discount for saving the village is pretty great, and the diversity of trades and professions is nice as well.
The only downside it that it's harder to get librarians with the enchantment books I want, but overall it feels more rewarding with the current system.

notch spent weeks working on secret content for an update only to release 1.4 and all he added was wolves, which were incredibly rare too so hardly anyone even saw them.
it made one guy start a mod called "Better Than Wolves" where he added shit like windmills, sawmills, better crafting and so on that Notch originally promised to have in the game until he changed his mind and went for the wolves>nether>enderman>adventure update>potions/enchants/bossfight shit that no-one wanted.
BTW mod wasnt the only one but the Wolves update basically having nothing in it changed Minecraft mods from being "LOL It's just liek diamonds except is 10x stronger and easier to get! XDXD" to actually having good quality mods that added content and crafting to it; like BTW, Industrialcraft, Buildcraft, Plasticraft, Millenaire, automated villagers that would collect resources for you and so on.

I remember when they moved from Alpha to beta and all that changed was the name and a new big was introduced.
