not sure how true it is but I heard deserts are easier to produce in development and also less stressful on the platform they are targeting, since they have to make a build that can run on the most platforms to make a profit.

I dunno if it's true, but I've heard that when it comes to different biomes/exotic locations, Japanese people really like deserts because it's one of the few types of areas that don't exist in Japan or have anything resembling it. It's kinda like how Americans always dream of a getaway to Cancun, Hawaii, or some other island. We got everything else, just not tropical stuff in the mainland.
