1-5 is underrated (Yes, I know it's well-liked but I see it as a very real contender to be the single best AA case)
Who’s this fella? I’ve only played the first two games so far.
The best prosecutor in the series aside from Edgeworth, doesn't show up until 5 though
I’m about to start trails and tribulations. I hear it’s very good. Is that true?
Ignoring main characters I'd put Grossberg as my favorite character. He's got an incredible arc and does such a great job setting the tone of AA1. As a bonus he's fun in T&T too.
>pushed by a little girl
>dies
kek what a bitch
Most people think it's the best Phoenix game. I guess I'd agree but it has its painfully slow parts.
It’s considered the best in the series (along with AAI2). The cases are all very solid. 3-3 is the weakest one out of the bunch but it’s still great.
not him but what is the consensus on AA2? cause honestly I think it is pretty weak
Reminder:
He did nothing wrong
I liked it quite a bit. 2-1 is a underwhelming but Phoenix getting amnesia is interesting, 2-2 is incredible and underrated, 2-3 is generally regarded to be pretty bad, and 2-4 is generally regarded to be one of the best cases in the series. Not many people liked the soundfont change in the music nor many of the compositions but shit like Investigation ~ Middle, the Pursuit theme and the credits theme are really good. I wish JfA got a 5th case like the original AA did with its DS release but I guess they wanted it out quick.
I'm at the last case and I did find it weaker than the first game. Franziska as a prosecutor is not as entertaining as Edgeworth and the only case I found interesting was the second one.
Except for trying to murder an underage girl over an accident, and actually murdering someone else in the process
I agree mostly except I'm on the nickel samurai case right now and it really blows so far. I'm hoping it picks up in the later acts
Probably my favorite defense attorney.
Simon Blackquill
He's a prosecutor on death row who uses hilarious banter to fucking destroy the defense. He comes in DD.
Don't heed to shitters, DD and SoJ are actually pretty good, though I prefer the originals.
Why is he so perfect?
I'd like to get in her magic panties if you know what I'm saying.
He's an even bigger dork then Wright but he's also so likeable. It's great.
I wouldn't exactly call charging a blind 13-year-old twink of firing a shoulder-breaking revolver to kill an interpol agent twice his size perfect.
>mfw his first desk slap was so weak.
It's kind of adorable.
That guy was fucking great, he clapping like a mad man when you get him was cool
Yeah it kind of sucks but the last case is the GOAT. youtube.com
>if you know what I'm saying
I don't. could you explain user?
the ost grew on me. not as great as AA1 but still good
Is Maya back on AA2 ?
I WANT TO STICK MY PEEN IN GINEBEAN
He needs another chance to prosecute his own game
yes but in a smaller way
Anyone else notice the recent uptick in quantity of Ace Attorney threads? I think we need some AA7 news here soon
It gets a lot better as you get closer to the end
It's probably because of the fan translation for DGS that recently finished. It's basically like getting a new game, only 4 years late.

Oh wait, its been translated?
OP here, I recently played the trilogy on switch and that’s what got me into the games. I figure it’s the same for a lot of other people. Are the games outside of the trilogy worth checking out?
It's all canon, so if you like the trilogy then absolutely. You DO want to understand all the memes, right?
Read Investigations 1,2 and the two 3ds ones are all good
Yes I'd say they absolutely are. Opinions vary on whether they are as good as the trilogy (I personally believe a select few are better than some of the trilogy games but that's personal opinion) but even at worst the newer games are okay/mediocre which even then a mediocre AA game is still pretty damn good in my book.
Fully translated last month with a translated demo of DGS2. Demo's a pretty big spoiler and only covers 1/6th of the first case, though.
best girl
Fucking A+, user, I'm so happy I pirated my 3DS
FA-BU-LOUS!
Genuine question
I want to play the Japanese only AA on 3DS, but have no fucking clue how to patch 3DS games because I'm a brainlet
Wat do
I really like Kay and truly think she is besto
But I can't get over how she looks like a pretty boy if you cover the ponytail
every character in 3-2
He wants to fuck her, and so do I
Guys I played only the first AA and liked it, should I bother with other DS games or just play the 3DS ones? I mean. is there some necessary lore to know etc.
Pretty sure you need to play them in order.
no, you can skip them. you'll just be missing out on the best ace attorney games is all.
>she looks like pretty boy
That's the best part
Play them all in release order. It's a story heavy series.
>ignores dna analysis of the hair
Nice prosecutor you got there.
He probably trusted the police to have done it already
You mean Dai Gyakuten Saiban? Just use a prepatched rom / cia. Your 3DS has to be hacked, though.
It's already hacked desu, I didn't know there were pre-patched cias
Neat art
The real reason Apollo is constantly cleaning the toilets at the Wright Anything Agency
ok, will do
Investigations 1 is not that great, but it's worth playing just to play AAI2.
Gibbe AA7
Gibbe a case with Athena teaming up with Trucy
Gibbe a case with Apollo and Rayfa’s armpits
That's called a shota, user
>buys her exactly one outfit, in multiple sizes as she grows I guess
>hires someone to do the potty training for him under the guise of working as a lawyer under him
what a top dad
Don’t you pretty much have to play that game on a pc if you don’t speak Japanese?
Give a game where she's relevant.
Fuck this bitch.
Next game you should play is Justice for All. Then Trials & Tribulations. Then Apollo Justice. Then the Investigation games. Then Dual Destinies. Then Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney. Then Spirit of Justice. Then Dai Gyakuten Saiban if you want.
AA2, duh.
I love the more fancy costumes of the games
noted
Should I look up a plot/spoilers summary of DGS2 or is it good enough to wait 5 years for a translation?
Is AA7 going to be some hyper-realistic RE engine game or something? Why are they taking so long to announce it?
How did this moment make you feel?
I am I edgy for enjoying how twisted it was willing to get and hoping a future game tries it again
>this hair belongs to victim because it's white
oh fuck off
I just finished this shit 4 hours ago.
Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies are one of the worst games in the series so take care.
>you will never hate fuck Dahlia
2-4 trips itself up when you get to cross examining DeKiller on the radio. He comes off as really dumb for not immediately figuring out what Phoenix is doing.
I have that case very low for a reason, but 5-3 shows Blackquill is trusting of the police work and makes assumptions based on common sense
Gladly.
AJ is shit, but DD is underrated. I like it more than SoJ and about as much as T&T
Probably the time takes to work on HD models + trying to decide the proper direction to take the story in after SoJ sort of put them in a tough place and plus whatever other new additions they plan on adding.
desu i would choke her to death while we fuck.
I can't trust any of these with Turnabout Revolution higher than low tier. Absolute joke of a story.
The anime style is very androgynous. Can't fault Kay for that.
The first half is solid and the twist is a good one. It's only undone by the far too transparent villain and AJ's awfulness as a protagonist
DD doesn’t have a single great case and overall the cases were not written well so I don’t see how you could prefer it over SoJ and put it on the level of TT both of which are agreed to have at least 2 great cases each
Why didn’t he apologize to Phoenix for being such a faggot in his first case?
Turnabou succession was top tier af. I agree with the tierlist otherwise.
Lana Skye will return as the prosecutor in AA7, mark my words
I will always hate that the bandaged girl in the top left never got a proper send off. We get Tigre the Guilty sentence, but she's never charged with assisting Tigre in the murder by dressing up as a waitress.
I regard 5-3 and 4/5 as great (Academy is a great satire of high school anime and a fun mystery in general. Fuck off). The DLC is also good.
SoJ made some changes that I can't stand (Every trial resolves itself in a single day. Scientific investigations aren't as fun as past entries) and while 6-5 is good it comes up short of 5-4/5 for reasons stated here
T&T suffers from 3 being mediocre and 4/5 being needlessly convoluted.
Honestly Phoenix was acting like an uncharacteristic faggot in that flashback case, I dunno why people never mention that when talking about how his character is in that game
It was unique and had high stakes, the only ‘bad’ thing about it was the extreme stroke of luck that came from seeing the cuff in that reflection during the final death vision
It scared the shit out of me at 3 a.m. when I was by myself.
But 5-4/5-5 had some pretty ridiculous jumps in logic and had the mood matrix being the mood matrix just like DD as a whole
That's not nearly as lucky as Apollo's previously unknown father just happening to be present during a high profile political assassination
I like the mood matrix and found the case to be pretty straightforward by AA standards
I chalk that up to him being more independent and not relying on Mia/Edgeworth/etc.
But seriously, if Klavier simply asked Kristoph how the fuck he knew about the forgery he would’ve saved multiple lives, including his own brother.
AAI-AAI2 was Franziska’s performance
Also that short while Wright was investigating with her in T&T
>Blackquill is trusting of the police work and makes assumptions based on common sense
He could request a dna test but he decided not to. This is quite incompetent behavior.
>but she's never charged with assisting Tigre in the murder by dressing up as a waitress.
She's literal mafia, she even implied that Tigre was gonna get poisoned or killed or something too. Police probably can't touch her. I've always wanted her to cameo again personally, her and Nick didn't get to interact enough in that case.
Assuming it’s a new engine, would you prefer they continue with the 3D models acting 2D like SoJ and DD was or full 3D like vs Layton and DGS
It was jaw dropped and I was thinking "WHAT THE FUCK" but when Edgeworth stated that she did it to hide the evidence I remember letting out a verbal "Nooooo!" followed by feels. It made perfect sense and I though the entire phantom thing wasn't possible
Such a fantastic moment in the series. I put it up there with [spoilers]Matt's transformation, Godot's confession, and Dhurke's death[/spoiler]
>One lawyer who was guilty but pretended to be innocent for years
>Another lawyer who was innocent, but found guilty and sentenced to death
Blackquill + Lana would be a cool duo considering Blackquill could be demanded to be Lana's new mentor.
6-2 and 6-3 were pretty strong for mid game cases. Robert Downey Jr could've easily made for a final case material to wrap up the Gramyre plot
like DGS if we can get DGS level animation
What is this relationship exactly.
Does she fucking love him or not.
She seemed upset when you revealed the truth.
As if she knew but wants to ignore it because she somewhat likes him.
But everyone else assuming it was the victim's hair only helped his case. Why should he do the defense's work for them
The implication I took away was fucked up
It was stated that Athena hated the way her mother acted towards her. It came off to me like this was Athena's idea of correcting her behavior
One of the few saving graces from an otherwise crap entry.
Delete this right fucking now user you fucked up the spoiler
But it connected back to being the reason Dhurke was the one to adopt Apollo in the first place. Not nearly as insane as the court accepting a man being able to do a 20 foot leap “because he had no emotions” and then the completely insane mental gymnastics with the moon rock hijinks. I could write an essay on the retarded leaps of logic and lucky guesses DD had
>Not the fucking literally did nothing wrong Scooter chief
6-2 is poorly paced and it's retarded to kill a total stranger just to frame someone else. He should've gone on TV since had his own show and aired out all of the Gramarye dirty laundry
Apollo shouldn't have had any involvement. Spirit mediums and shit were always Phoenix's territory
Isn't AA a series built on insane leaps of logic and amazing convencies?
You might wanna rethink that :^)
> But everyone else assuming it was the victim's hair only helped his case. Why should he do the defense's work for them
So he hid evidence, right?
What is the best music in AA?
Why does everyone like this annoying slandering whore? I came out of the case feeling nothing but contempt for her
basically
if the cast of characters weren't so endearing I probably wouldn't care about the series that much to be honest
>Not nearly as insane as the court accepting a man being able to do a 20 foot leap “because he had no emotions”
Why? if the guy knew he could do it and felt no fear, why wouldn't he?
>then the completely insane mental gymnastics with the moon rock hijinks
That was basic as fuck. So basic that it was annoying since you knew exactly where it was going
No, the hair was there for AJ to have tested anytime he wanted to.
Talk shit about DD all you want
But it probably had the most consistent wild ride bullshit i have ever seen.
The game was aware when shit hit the fan and it kept fucking happening.
It ended up causing bad writing but god damn if it didn’t make a fucking spectacle.
Probably the one thing I feel DD did better than SoJ, most of the horseshit events gets proper reactions whereas SoJ was more somber
Best song or best soundtrack in a specific game?
>it’s retarded
They made a point that Retinz was out of his fucking mind killing a random person for the sake of a grudge
FUCK I'M SO SORRY
SoJ is the only game where I consider a mid-game case to be better than the final one. I cried like an absolute bitch when this happened. And then it was followed up by what I consider one of the worst cases in AA, especially for a fourth case.
I've seen a lot of people saying that they didn't like the soba case in SoJ, but honestly it wasn't that bad. Granted having it be about japanese noodles doesn't really translate well to an english audience, but I liked that there was a case that wasn't connected to the Khura'in plot, and we had some nice Blackquill banter and a cute clown in it.
Call me a faggot or a guy with shit taste in characters but I teared up a bit when Apollo said he'd be staying in Khura'in and "I'm Fine!" started playing. Fuck you guys I like Apollo alright?
yes. do it, but don't get spoiled though. for me it was the only entry in the series that made me genuinely sad at one point. it's one hell of a ride
SoJ only got me to care when Dhurke's death was revealed. I hate AJ's case against Wright just being 2-4 again. DD was filled with genuine hype and OH FUCK moments
There's only so much I'll accept from someone simply being "out of their mind"
>Hating the funniest case in the series
kys
I love her so much.
I think it's one of the funniest cases in the series. Also that moment when Blackquill grabs Athena in first person was really fucking cool.
I liked what it attempted to do, having the three lawyer MCs approach muh truth in their own distinct ways, it just didn't execute this too well
SoJ on paper sounds fucking retarded by comparison and it also does an inverse but equally annoying inverse of the MC switcheroo AJ did, however this was all executed a lot better than DD's ideas were
There are dozens of us.
I want to see an Ace Attorney game depicting him becoming darker and darker, twisting his good ideals of a perfect trial in a sick manner. A little like Gant who had to become a criminal in order to fight crime in general. Featuring pic related in her prime with a young idealistic grossberg as the defense lawyer
That’s why it was retarded. “He took the moon rock because it has his blood on it” such an asspull, so nothing else managed to get blood on it besides this one rock? And he noticed and did all of that JUST so the rock couldn’t be recovered? That’s not even the beginning of all the crazy conveniences taken in 5-5, it was a rollercoaster and not in a good way
I CAN'T CAUSE I'M ON MOBILESHIT AAAAAAAH
>thought she was going to turn evil any moment
>she was actually a sweet, loyal girl that had the best of intentions all along
I felt so guilty for doubting her.
I'm a fucking crybaby man, Ace Attorney has made me tear up too many damn times, including AAI2 and particularly this fucking case.
delet this right fucking now
>young idealistic
>implying she wouldn't just look exactly the same even back then
Why the heck did Apollo need an origin story explained across three games but Phoenix has only some iotas about his past brought up ever?
The funniest case in the series has no place being put right after the saddest case in the same goddamn game. I honestly think I wouldn't have minded it so much if Athena's case came right before 6-3, but having it there fucked the pacing hard.
Well, the rererere-release was a few weeks ago.
Phoenix has it too, it's just on a comparatively smaller scale and doesn't involve family drama
watch this space though
I guess some characters have more important/relevant pasts than others, I dunno ask the writers.
>just being 2-4 again
That doesn’t really change the fact that Apollo got wright in a corner of desperation while also saving him
That is a fucking victory
>copy of 2-4
People fail to realize that Maya’s kidnapping was a ruse to hide the actual plot twist.
Oh, they'll get there eventually
>Near daily Ace Attorney threads lately
What's going on, is there an sudden influx of newfags playing the games that I've been missing?
It wasn't the only thing but the moon rock was the hardest thing to dispose of since there was no chance that people wouldn't notice that it was missing. He could take the knife or any clothing easily, but he went with the one surefire way to ensure that the moon rock would never be found and got screwed on a fluke
>And he noticed and did all of that JUST so the rock couldn’t be recovered?
He probably looked around to see where his blood had gotten
>That doesn’t really change the fact that Apollo got wright in a corner of desperation while also saving him
Edgeworth did too
>People fail to realize that Maya’s kidnapping was a ruse to hide the actual plot twist.
But I wanted a fair fight and didn't get it
>implying DD’s o fuck moments weren’t just baseless shock value
>meanwhile 6-5 played with the players head even more and managed to have some good foreshadowing
I still think Maya should learn martial arts of some kind, at 2 kidnappings and 3 arrests you should probably start taking some precautions. Maybe Athena could teach her some moves.
> I hate AJ's case against Wright just being 2-4 again.
Wright in 6-5 backpedalled from the development he got in 2-4 honestly, but Apollo's supposed to be the truth over everything guy now I guess and there can only be one apparently
Because Apollo was introduced to replace Phoenix, but then Capcom brought Phoenix back to appeal to Japanese people who hate the idea of characters changing/going away. They effectively had to undo everything AJ's first game setup, and since Phoenix is more popular than AJ, it was kinda obvious who had to be left behind.
Translation of DGS and the Trilogy ports would be my guess.
Plus the possibility of AA7 news around the corner at E3
>wanted a fair fight but didn’t get it
Fair enough, most people probably did too
Couldn’t he have just wiped the blood off the surface off the moon rock? The rock was black, not like anyone would have noticed anyways and they would have just assumed it was Metis’s blood... instead of stealing one of the most valuable items and expecting everything to work out.
AA7 WHEN???
Please no
I fear the next game will needlessly asspull Phoenix's family life or some bullshit with Athena's father, unless it explains why Metis would Have a psyche profile on the phantom in the first place
An Ace Attorney game has literally never been revealed at an E3. It's a Japanese-centric franchise, the next best chance for news would be around TGS.
What's your most personal memories of playing AA? Spoilers of course:
>playing 1-4 late at night in the dark, got scared and turned the lights on when the Suspense theme started playing after Polly said DL-6 while talking with Yanni
>was on vacation and I just sat in the hotel room chair awestruck for a few minutes from Terry's death after beating 3-4
But finding the truth and losing in 2-4 ended up saving Maya. If Phoenix lost in 6-5 she would have died.
>Because Apollo was introduced to replace Phoenix
Phoenix was in AJ from the beginning apparently. The two "orders from above" the staff got about making the game was that Phoenix had to be there and that it had to involve juries somehow, according to that Capcom-Unity interview with Takumi from a while back. I think people are mis-quoting what was said very slightly, Phoenix wasn't supposed to be brought back because they didn't want to make another AA after T&T period, not because they wanted a replacement.
In any case, with Apollo they had a completely blank slate available to them. If Phoenix's mere presence fucks him up as a character he's just inherently poorly designed to be honest, even if Phoenix wasn't there I'd want them to do something that isn't just a repeat of Phoenix for the most part, what's the point of having a new protag at all at that point?
Well it could be announced during the Japanese Nintendo Direct because those are meant for Japanese people, ya know?
>>implying DD’s o fuck moments weren’t just baseless shock value
Apollo's Kristoph Gavin impersonation wasn't baseless shock value
>>meanwhile 6-5 played with the players head even more and managed to have some good foreshadowing
Having the villain reveal themselves the moment the trial starts isn't good foreshadowing
He wasn't willing to sacrifice Maya's life over an orb
It's almost impossible to wipe up blood thoroughly with only basic cleaning tools. Especially when he was in a rush. It's certainly not as safe a bet as launching the rock into space to be blown up.
You're looking at it with hindsight bias. His plan would have still worked if not for Athena's earring
The switch remake came out recently. Im just here waiting for a new entry.
Only DGS1 was ever revealed through a Direct. Every single other entry in the franchise in recent memory has been revealed at TGS (or a Famitsu the week before), so a Direct reveal is unlikely.
He didn't care about the truth anymore just because he was being blackmailed with Maya's life. That's out-of-character for him. Also he didn't really attempt to find some sort of alternative solution at all like he usually would, but I can let that much slide since he didn't have player character plot armor this time.
Unlikely but not impossible!
Half of the guilt involved in 2-4 was knowing Adrian Andrews would be wrongfully convicted if he won. 6-5 doesn't force him to convict anyone of murder.
I literally just played through DD and SOJ though. 5-5 had too many ideas and they were not put together well, there were many times just like the other cases where I would just think “I wish this was done already I know they’re going to pull more predictable shit out of their asses” Kind of felt like the case was improvised and the ideas of the power of friendship/law were not implemented well.
The case gets worse as it goes, but the protion of the trial with Edgeworth prosecuting Athena is all time great AA
Honestly I wish they had expanded his relation with Kristoph a bit more before Phoenix fucked him up. Seeing him parrot his former mentor in 5-5 really made me realize how much wasted potential they had.
Literally the only time he felt like his own character and not diet Phoenix.
AA4 should have been AA5. AA4 should've been just Apollo and Kristoph with no mention of Wright. Playing 4-1 after that would've been fucking mindblowing
>But I wanted a fair fight
that's literally not how these trials are supposed to work though
DD sort of tried to do this too with the roles reversed and didn't go all the way (honestly may just have been due to poor execution as opposed to this being the intentional outcome though) with it but it was still dumb there too, having a Phoenix vs Apollo scenario at all felt like forced melodrama
that entire case in general felt like the writers just ran out of ideas to me, the other Apollo case in the same game was a significantly better character-defining case for him
>having a Phoenix vs Apollo scenario at all felt like forced melodrama
I've always has an idea for this where Apollo and Athena take on different clients and are put in positions where they have to accuse the other's client of wrongdoing to assert the innocence of their own
The point of having a new protag at this point is just simulate Phoenix's newbie nerves that he can't get anymore after multiple years of doing this stuff. Also to show off how great Phoenix is.
>melodrama is always bad
Why yes that is a thing I didn't say.
Except this doesn't work because both of them are defense attorney's. Even when Phoenix goes against Apollo in SoJ, it's only because it begins as a civil case and then Phoenix turns the case into a murder one halfway through.
>Except this doesn't work because both of them are defense attorney's
Well, prosecutors don't have clients.
My point is that if you want to do lawyer vs. lawyer properly you need to put them in situations where the truths they seek are at odds
Why does Phoenix always have murder on his mind? He even tried to hire an assassin to kill the judge years ago. What a freak.
The writers don't know how to juggle multiple main characters at the same time anymore, that's all it is, the main justification people have for 6-5 being the way it is even is "Apollo deserves it because he's been shit for the past two games".
If there wasn't this weird fixation with having this newbie-to-veteran arc going all the time for no real reason the series wouldn't suffer from this anywhere near as much I think. Who the player character is should not even matter much, the rest of the characters cover all the dramatic story stuff.
Pretty sure AA will just get rebooted eventually, almost kind of looking forward to that at this point if I'm honest.
Guys
Just listen
GUYS
WHAT IF
WHAT IF investigation trilogy announced at e3
>trilogy
Honestly I always just assumed that this was the area of law he & Mia specialised in, that's what lawyers typically do isn't it?
Holy shit he was echoing Kristoph, I'm a goddamn retard.
Apollo himself was the problem. He was never given a reason for being a lawyer like Phoenix and Athena were.
AA7 can be great if it finally focuses on her. It needs to allow her to go through a similar arc to Phoenix's but show her having different ways of tackling a dilemma than him
I think she does actually love him, but didn't want to accept that the only reason he helped her/stuck around with her was because of him being threatened by her grandfather
Yes, but you have to be a big shot to specialize in murder from day one
Sure he specializes in criminal law but he's so poor you'd think he'd bite the bullet and do some civil law or divorce law on the side, I guess he really likes murder though.
Hopefully it's not another tacked on backstory out of nowhere. Just let it be a new rivalry that makes more sense than Blackquill.
Why is the Wright Anything Agency a mess?
Does Phoenix have no cleaning lady?
Actual kino
He's not that poor if Trucy managed to make a show.
Blackquill was never a rival. He's an older brother figure. A continuation of Athena's story without him would be wrong.
Phoenix is a pedo!
I didn't say erase him, just have another prosecutor fit for Athena.
AA games always do new prosecutors so there's no worry there, but trying to surpass him should definitely be a part of Athena's arc.
Lana or Franziska should return and act as Athena's rival in AA7, they'd be perfect and you don't have to go through the trouble of making a new character and bloating the main cast even further.
>I like slightly older kids!
no question
I hate him.
He made Trucy cry.
He tricked Trucy to sign the contract
He stole the Wright Anything Agency and made Apollo and Athena unemployed.
He is petty
He is guilty of hurting himself and not magnifi
He was rightly fired
He is scum. He used his biggest fan to revenge himself on Trucy
Do you think Pearls will develop as much "spirituality" as her big cousin Mia?
Phoenix is a bad father!
Trucy has to work in the bar where perverts like Stickler go
Stickler is a creep
He stole Trucy panty
Can't deny he's got style though, and his musical theme was great
I would rather just have more spin-offs at this point. I don't think SoJ was fundamentally bad, just the same shit as usual (right down to the same plots reused again) and I'm getting tired of it. Also having a new cast is fine and on paper a good idea in most respects, seeing the old cast get completely fucked up just to justify the new cast existing isn't enjoyable (or even necessary?) though.
For me AAI1 was okay, AAI2 was great, and DGS1 was a mixed bag but I'm really attached to it's cast of characters. Gimme more shit like those games instead.
>lost all my DS saves some time ago while attempting to play the AA games
Should I just replay AA1 entirely or just download a save so I can play 1-5 (where I was at) and continue to JFA and T&T
Please just retire Phoenix to the full time mentor role. They did it in 6-5 and it's probably been the best use of his character sense the trilogy. Make him the new Mia and develop Athena.
Do the latter.
1-5 is a bit of unusual case. It's fucking amazing but JFA and T&T can be played without it.
What did people even like about Phoenix in 6-5? He has a non-existent relationship with Apollo and the two are hardly around together at the same time so him acting like his mentor felt unconvincing, somehow AA5 did the mentor thing more believably with Phoenix and Athena I thought
Please fix your filename
Dude doted more on Athena than he did his own daughter in that game, shit felt weird
She's so useful, she could be the protagonist
I want to play AAI2. Where do Yea Forums get their roms these days?
Is she really?
Yes, she's the most useful assistant by a very long shot.
based as fuck
Athena is MINE
literally the first result in google
have fun user
Because she just wanted friends and didn't know how to do it.
Don't forget, she shopped herself into a picture with everyone else on her laptop.
The 4th case was good only because of Blackquill being allowed to do as he pleases and shit on everyone.
Do we know how well the Trilogy ports have sold yet?
Sort of agree. I'm biased because I care more for the character dialogue and interactions than I do the mysteries themselves, not that the mysteries aren't a factor but it;s always been everything around it sells these games to me
The final cases usually deliver on that but I didn't really care much for 6-5 on that front somehow. Datz was funny, the plot with the Buffs was engaging enough, Apollo getting his spotlight was deserved I guess (I'd probably like how bizarrely this was handled here more if Apollo was the only character in this case that I liked), and Rayfa gets a nice scene capping off her development (but then just becomes the butt of jokes for the rest of the case which was weird). That was pretty much all I liked about the case though. Think it might be my least favorite final case in the series potentially.
Maybe the high expectations got to me or something because I really enjoyed the second and third cases a lot more than I was expecting to and the fourth case was hilarious.
Do people still play Attorney Online?
Still one of the best one shot villains and it perfectly portrayed how far people would go to get revenge.
Also, he was the only one to do a perfect murder and he would have gotten away with it if the stupid bunny didn't mess up the trick
Find a flaw.
Live picture of Wright's Office.
sore loser
I like him just for how straight up villainous he is. He feels genuinely threatening when he sells the fucking office when Phoenix isn't around, which is great. The only villains I remember being as actively threatening during the case itself are von Karma, Gant, and Tigre.
Don't call her stupid she's cute!
She's not real and can't marry me
Shoulder isn't bulletproof.
There aren't more female prosecutors in the series.
>tfw managed 2 perfect murders
>tfw Wright forged evidence on the first and rewrote the whole fucking justice system on the second
Not as cute as her sister.
>saw a gachapon machine for the Ace Attorney anime
>Phoenix, Maya, Edgeworth, Franziska and Steel Samurai figurine keychains
>try twice
>got Maya and Franziska
I wanted Phoenix and Edgey, but at least i didn't pull dupes or the Steel Samurai I guess
He definitely was an asshole. I distinctly remember it too. Also very reliant on his idle pose.
>perfect murders
just hit the guy on the head lmao
Yes.
Most AA villains leave incriminating evidence behind doing convoluted bullshit
her sister's a lesbo tho
I can imagine that the pressure on the writers for AA7 is primarily why AA7 is taking so long. The ending of SoJ has created a sort of tricky situation where in which it seems whichever direction they can take (which is not many) is going to make some section of the fanbase angry. Some people hate Apollo, some people love him and want him to come back, some don't care about Athena and others want her to be developed further and some want Phoenix to be retired and others want him to stay of importance. It's all rather delicate at this point. I can only hope that AA7 will try to shake up the status quo as much as it can without falling off the tight rope.
Not perfect, people could link them back to him, but Kristoph knew how to manipulate the system enough that he wouldn't be able to be convicted. Reus was the only one who got away with a 'perfect' murder that would have left no connections to him.
He probably was the biggest threat in Japanfornia outside of maybe Da killer because if he had won, Wright Anything Agency would have been gone, everyone's reputation destroyed and Athena would have been in jail.
I'd say the only one came close was Redd White, and they both used similar tactics of going after you and your reputation.
Give me one piece of evidence for that.
>I guess there's no substitute for experience
>won all of his cases but one as a newbie
What did he mean by this?
No one likes Apollo.
T&T and SoJ are overrated
There was no way to tie him to Shadi Smith without the ace. Vera could probably only tie him to the forgery, not murder.
Plenty of people like Apollo, Yea Forums just has an anti-Apollo echo chamber for some reason
>for some reason
It's called common sense. He's a shit character
They have to make a new engine for switch most likely too. There was SIX years between AJ and DD, and it’s only been 3 since SoJ. I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a long wait.
I think most people understand Apollo's been put on the bus and will only make Edgeworth type cameos this point onward. The only meaningful way forward now is Athena for better or worse, but they've probably written themselves into the corner since they likely want to feature Phoenix in some way too for marketing reasons. Without Apollo the multiple attorney dynamic is gone since he acted as the bridge between Phoenix and Athena
>ranking per game
pff, amateur
>T&T
>Overrated
Weak bait.
Is he actually or do people just associate him with bad cases
She hasn't gotten enough screen time.
Yeah, the guy you posted is a fucking idiot as are most of the characters in 3-5. Sorry
He still never got a case better than his first one
Change God Tier to Extremely Overrated tier.
You'll never convince me 6-5 is better than 5-4/5
I never figured out what she was doing here exactly. The mafia was about to kill Tigre but he was best buds with the girl he actually sent to the hospital? And it was grave enough that the operations cost millions?
Why the hell would she help him with his retarded plan? Why on earth would she work as a secretary for that loser given her position?
I know that I shouldn't really care too much about plot holes in these games but that really made zero sense. I thought it'd come back and it'd be explained then but no, it was just random.
I enjoy those games but the writing is very incoherent at times. Like the many times Phoenix says "I don't see psyche-locks, I guess that must be the truth" but much later it turns out that they were actually lying. So why no locks then? Did you expect me to forget that, game?
Post god tier AA tracks.
youtube.com
AAI2 is not overrated. It's the only AA game that doesn't have a case below a 7/10
Kay getting over her amnesia was a mistake
Please never stop posting this.
>What is Case 3
I think 5-4/5 mostly loses out on gameplay more than anything. I think the emotional beats are better in 6-5 too, although it's not a huge difference.
Arguably the best in the game and the best "non-final" case in the franchise
The best case?
youtube.com
underrated song
Investigating in 6-5 was annoying and Blackquill's mood matrix is a high point for the series. The only great emotion moment in 6-5 was Dhurke being dead but even that is brought down by Apollo's sudden, forced attachment to him.
Anyone else find the breakdowns in SoJ really weak?
Especially the last case. I just didn't find it very satisfying.
>What is Case 1, 2, 3 and 5.
Case 3 is the most overrated case in the franchise outside of 3-5.
The retcon to Von Karma is a cardinal sin.
Yeah, they were largely a step down from DD which really made full use of its new 3D models.
What retcon?
The fact the penalty and forged evidence wasn't his fault even though he had a reputation for doing underhanded shit like that in every previous game.
It's the same retcon they did for Edgeworth in 1-5. Except people forget that it's what drove Von Karma to murder Gregory.
You’ll never convince me of the opposite. 6-5 was cohesive and fun and actually did a good job closing up the theme of the game
I mean, 5-5 had investigating be literally linear, it automatically loses out. It's probably DD's biggest issue.
I'd argue there's a lot of good emotional stuff in 6-5 regarding Rayfa and her parents (this is played out surprisingly well, both her mom and dad), the lawmaking, Apollo's arc coming to a close, smart and mature use of Maya, all that. Nahyuta is definitely the weakest part here, but everything else works. But hey, I have a hard time arguing against 5-5 because that case is pretty great too. Tastes differ.
Did someone finally upload these OSTs properly?
This, 6-5 did spirit medium fuckery correctly unlike 3-5.
This.
>if I say it's a retcon enough despite getting called out on it every thread it'll become a retcon
god fuck dude, he threatened Master, it was his own doing, AAI2 doesn't change that
blaise was a dipshit but he was 100% right in penalizing him, it doesn't change anything
How would you guys improve Mood Matrix? I like the idea as a different type of cross examination, I'd say that if they added more nuance between the different types of emotions (or added more types of emotions) and let you get penalized for it then it could be rather good.
I watched the anime and they were all shit
I won't lie
I never really liked Apollo
But Capcom managed to make him pretty boss in AA6.
>The fact the penalty and forged evidence wasn't his fault
The penalty was for an improperly obtained confession which was 100% his fault.
Von Karma was simply given bad information but his perfectionism would not permit him to admit a mistake. This actually helps the AA story because it removes the hypocrisy of Phoenix Wright getting disbarred for a single forgery
>It's the same retcon they did for Edgeworth in 1-5
AA1 never definitively showed Edgeworth deliberately forging anything. Just that he was willing to manipulate whatever info he did have to his advantage. 1-5 is a natural follow-up to that in showing him that he can't claim to have integrity while blindly chasing guilty verdicts and a fantastic part of his story.
With a last second protag swap? It makes no sense to bench Phoenix so abruptly when he was the one who had been stirring most of the shit in Khurain
>I mean, 5-5 had investigating be literally linear, it automatically loses out. It's probably DD's biggest issue.
At least it reduces the amount of time being wasted
>regarding Rayfa and her parents
It's so painfully obvious that it loses its emotional weight
> Apollo's arc coming to a close,
You can't close what never started. We're still never told why hes a lawyer and him doing it because his dragon dad did it is the weakest possible motive
>smart and mature use of Maya
All it had going for it, but case goes off a cliff once Dhurke's murder is solved
>If I say it didn't happen enough, it didn't happen.
It was still Blaise who was the one who forged the autopsy report, Von Karma was obsessed with his win record so he just rolled with it, but it means he's not entirely to blame for it. Which is a massive retcon.
Come to grips with the fact that AAI2 isn't as good as you think.
>Von Karma was obsessed with his win record so he just rolled with it, but it means he's not entirely to blame for it. Which is a massive retcon.
That's not why he was penalized
>Hates AAi2 because he didn't pay attention to the story
Figures
>AA1 never definitively showed Edgeworth deliberately forging anything. Just that he was willing to manipulate whatever info he did have to his advantage. 1-5 is a natural follow-up to that in showing him that he can't claim to have integrity while blindly chasing guilty verdicts and a fantastic part of his story.
1-2 doesn't exist in your world.
Datz fucking made AA6.
Without him I daresay the game would have been shit.
Withholding evidence from the defense =/= forgery.
Manfred made up an autopsy report of of thin air for a missing body. Edgeworth just got his updated but didn't share it with Wright before it was convenient
>>tfw Wright forged evidence on the first and rewrote the whole fucking justice system on the second
Prosecutors literally withhold evidence only to pull it out of their ass without scrutiny mid-trial all the fucking time in this franchise, including in AJ
this was such a dumb plot point to base everything else around
Dude, even if it completely retconned 1-4 it would still be a good game, it'd stink but it's minor in the sense of a whole game. You're overblowing this, hard.
That said, you're still not right. Blaise penalized Manfred after Gregory found evidence that Master's confession was forced. The autopsy report was secondary.
Withholding evidence is not forgery.
Yeehaw pardner
These games usually largely ignore the previous games anyway, there's no issue here
Marshall was great, his goodbye to Ema is one of my favorite more subtle Ace Attorney moments.
I played spirit in justice.
I found out that Phoenix has back problems with 35 years
He has been complaining about back pain the whole time
I don't care what they do as long as we get timeskip Gumshoe.
I wish AA would do another case where the stakes are almost entirely personal instead of having the fate of the world hanging in the balance
>improperly obtained confession
Which was based off the forged evidence. Did you forget how it all started? Or the fact that Von Karma had a reputation for being dirty?
You make it sound like witness intimidation and withholding evidence that clears the defense isn't just as bad. Also, Wright clearly said he expected Edgeworth to forge evidence.
You misinterpreted what I meant with both Rayfa's parents and Apollo's arc, should've been more clear.
I don't mean the twist regarding Rayfa's parents, but the way she holds her parents (the fake ones) in such high regard and that she's been basically emotionally abused since she was a baby. One thing that was cool here was that Inga, as shit a person as he was, seemed to actually really care about Rayfa (and she about him), which was a great touch. Gave it some good depth.
With Apollo's arc I didn't mean any of the lawyer stuff, but him going from hot-headed rookie who punches Phoenix in 4-1 to being a ballsy highflyer in 6-5. It's a character arc, he grew, and him starting his own agency is a good end point.
Name a worse character.
Did you not play 6-2?
Overrated garbage with the worst court theme and the most annoying filler case in the series (imposter one)
Mask*DeMasque is pretty great though
>It makes no sense to bench Phoenix so abruptly when he was the one who had been stirring most of the shit in Khurain
It was for plot/thematic reasons because Dhurke, I actually agree with you but this was the whole reason Apollo was there at all basically
I still think Phoenix should've been the one to set up shop in Khurain at the end of the game after basically starting the whole mess in the first place, with Apollo formally taking over the Japanifornia office. "I'm my own man now" my ass, 6-5 basically cemented once and for all that Apollo's just a indistinct Phoenix copy, most people don't really mind that either as long as he gets to do stuff so they might as well just embrace it.
You're confusing things. The lack of a body was what made the trial last FOREVER, but the penalty for von Karma was him forcing Master to confess by threatening to get Kate into it. That was 100% on him.
Dude has been tased, whipped, assaulted in various other ways, gone under more mental stress tha. The typical person should really ever go through without therapy and walked off a car accident. I'm sure he would have had some health problems eventually.
>basically cemented once and for all that Apollo's just a indistinct Phoenix copy
are you people really so inept at distinguishing different characters? is this the same shit as calling each assistant a "maya clone"?
>Which was based off the forged evidence. Did you forget how it all started? Or the fact that Von Karma had a reputation for being dirty?
You clearly did. The confession was obtained by Manfred blackmailing Masters by threatening to have Katie charged as well if he didn't plead guilty. It has nothing to do with the autopsy report.
>You make it sound like witness intimidation and withholding evidence that clears the defense isn't just as bad.
Edgeworth's code allowed for those things, but not the use of forged evidence. 1-5 is where he had his eyes opened up to what he had really been doing
>Also, Wright clearly said he expected Edgeworth to forge evidence.
Because of rumors, nothing he had seen proven
Okay, now we just need one where the motives aren't all petty as fuck
>only to pull it out of their ass without scrutiny mid-trial all the fucking time
the only difference was that Phoenix got called out on this being dumb whereas Prosecutors don't
they shouldn't have made an act like this be the lynchpin for the entire plot of the game when it's hard to take seriously (nevermind Phoenix being disbarred for corruption and then being put in charge of revolutionary legal reform anyway)
Yes
He makes me want to cook him things that he couldn't possibly afford to eat on his salary.
Anons
Gumshoe is dead isn't he. The Californiyakuza got him.
>is this the same shit as calling each assistant a "maya clone"?
Each assistant is not a Maya clone
Apollo is just an indistinct Phoenix copy though. That's why the two characters are never together without one having some retarded plot reason to act out of character the entire time, because it'd highlight that the two are the same otherwise outside of some very, very minor and inconsequential differences like Apollo's chords of steel joke or whatever. The similarities are intentional even. Like I said, hardly anyone cares anyway.
Name a better character
And you're conveniently ignoring that Von Karma wouldn't have done that if Blase didn't back him into a corner with the forged autopsy report to begin with. Where even if Masters was innocent, Von Karma was still going to convict him to protect his record.
They just turned Von Karma into an asshole, but not the cheating one that he was portrayed as for the ENTIRE series.
Rumors are almost always based on facts as well, 1-5 retconned that Edgeworth forged evidence. They outright retconned Edgeworth's personality and 'code' when in 1-2 he withheld evidence and tampered with witnesses. For all the bullshit about only being in the job to find the truth, he was doing the exact opposite to protect his own win record.
>Okay, now we just need one where the motives aren't all petty as fuck
Keep moving the goalposts. Also the motive being petty is going to be what every personal case is.
Dumbass.
Ideally Phoenix would go over to Khurain and sort that shit out
Apollo would go off on his own but still be in Japanifornia
and Wright's office gets left with Trucy & Athena - this is where the issue is though because Athena is still incompetent as hell, they couldn't even entertain this idea convincingly
How the fuck is forcing a confession not cheating? It's intensely illegal and it's pretty much the same as forging shit. Finding the body would've changed nothing at all in that regard, either. I don't understand your train of logic where you make it out to be that von Karma did nothing wrong because... Blaise was bad too? It doesn't make sense.
I swear having an AAI3 set in SoJ time where the opening case has Gumshoe murdered could potentially be incredible.
Imagine if the Phantom had been pretending to be Gumshoe, rather than Fulbright, and Gumshoe had been dead all that time
>They just turned Von Karma into an asshole, but not the cheating one that he was portrayed as for the ENTIRE series.
Using a forged autopsy report and blackmailing a defendant with the threat of knowingly false charges seems like cheating to me
>Rumors are almost always based on facts as well.
Yes, because the police department had been feeding Edgeworth forged evidence.
>For all the bullshit about only being in the job to find the truth, he was doing the exact opposite to protect his own win record.
Edgeworth was in the mindset that if a defendant is found guilty then that must be so and all he has to do is use all he has to have them convicted. 1-5 is where he saw that simply being "the prosecutor" isn't enough to get the truth. He had the chance to win the case on Lana's coerced confession and decided that winning was not the most important thing. Even if Lana might still be guilty of the murder, he wanted to know the whole story behind it
You react to character development like it's poison.
The detectives are the best characters, prove me wrong.
>Gummy
>Ema Skye
>Tyrell Badd
fuck Fulbright though
Knowing Gumshoe he probably dropped his gun into his ramen, figured that it was no use wasting good broth, stuck his gun in his mouth and shoots himself by accident
>literally everyone has a meme name
meme game
>fuck fulbright
I would in a heartbeat.
He's so dreamy
But I was thinking of a case like 1-5 where you have
>Phoenix
client is a friend of his mentor and Gant will wreck his career if he loses
>Edgeworth
has to confront his mistakes in court aand make tough choices as to not repeat them
>Gumshoe
Risks his job helping Wright investigate because he's worrited about Edgeworth
>Ema and Lana
Both trying to keep their sisters out of prison
>Jake
Wants the truth to his brother's murder
A bunch of third rate magicians butthurt that Trucy is more popular than them doesn't compare
But I like Fulbright so far! (Just started DD) I actually hope he sticks around for future games. Also does Ema come back? I didn't really like her in Apollo Justice.
Yeah, Ema's an international investigator in AA6 and AA6 is mostly abroad, so she's the main one.
Also watch out for spoilers, there's quite a few in this thread already.
Don't worry, Fulbright is here to stay. In justice we trust!
How do I get a wife like Ema?
I've never cared for Ema personally.
Badd was just okay.
Fullbright was fine, as the cases get increasingly edgy having a stupidly positive guy around all the time actually being part of the process is a fun idea.
Gumshoe's great.
Lang is the man and I want him to get his own spin-off.
>I actually hope he sticks around for future games.
user, I'm just gonna tell you to close the thread and pretend you didn't see anything
Bring plenty of snacks
I never noticed her skirt had a massive hip gap in it, what the fuck?
that pic is from another game where she appeared as a guest
Underrated.
this could be updated with the hd sprite
Von Karma was willing to do anything to win and that implied he forged evidence, the one time he got penalized it wasn't because he did it. It's really simple.
>You react to character development like it's poison.
Just ignore AAI-4 then where he was going on and on about the truth.
I didn't feel the stakes to any of the characters, compared to 6-2 in 1-5.
I can't hate him
>the one time he got penalized it wasn't because he did it
But he did. Jesus, this is such an easy point. Von Karma forced Master's confession, which makes it a false confession. What's so hard about this?
Meh, this one didn't end up as good
And that only happened because of circumstances out of his control and he was penalized by the guy who do it.
Hmm....
My take is that legality in ace attorney's world considers a forced/false confession a different thing from forged evidence
Convince me to finish this, Yea Forums. I'm a big AA fan, but not finding this very interesting after two cases.

They're a cute couple.
The trial prolonged because of circumstances out of his control. So what? Doesn't make him right. Your whole idea here is that he was somehow "forced" to do it, but he never ever was. It was his own thing.
>I ship
don't worry
It has one of the best last cases of the entire series, specially because of the uber cunt final boss. If anything else consider that Investigation 2 is widely considered the best game in the series and its a continuation of that one, so keep at it
Grit your teeth for the third case, but the fourth and fifth case and the second AAI game make it all very worth it.
>the one time he got penalized it wasn't because he did it. It's really simple.
Which is why it was a penalty and not disbarment like Phoenix. Manfred knew the report was a fake but Edgeworth couldn't prove it
>Just ignore AAI-4 then where he was going on and on about the truth.
We were talking about 1-5. Talking about AAI-4 is changing the subject
>Phoenix and Edgeworth losing their careers isn't enough stakes
Then you're just retarded
Retinz was 100% right about the Gramarye but only served as a strawman to execute his revenge plot in the most needlessly retarded way to invalidate all of the actually slimy shit he could've exposed about Trucy's family
ship to where?
DO I LOOK LIKE SPAGHETTI TO YOU?
It's advice as old as time: just be a handsome, rich, musically gifted lawyer.
KA-TONK!
The bedroom
Apollo canonically gets cucked by Klavier, correct?
I want to tenderly fuck susato
Thanks for proving my point in regards to how Von Karma's reputation got retconned in regards to forged evidence.
Also nothing wrong in talking about other retcons that whitewashed characters.
>Losing their careers
As opposed to losing their careers, the company, and Trucy going to jail for murder and the entire world thinks they did it already.
Keep in mind they already lost the company so the the stakes were already higher than just threats.
Stay mad that Swimming Man wasn't as threaten as you think.
>I was proven wrong, but if I still say I'm right, maybe they won't notice
I've been of the opinion for a while now that the first half of Turnabout Revolution shouldn't have happened, and that the devs were just really eager to get a Apollo vs Phoenix shot for the pre-release trailers
Apollo already proved he could stand on his own in Magical Turnabout (really well in fact), he didn't need his ability to do this to be the focal point again
The actual civil trial itself is framed as Apollo overcoming Phoenix, hell Athena basically yelling this over and over is her only reason for being there really, except the more I think about it that doesn't even hold up that well - Phoenix was handed an extremely shitty case to argue for and the fact that he held out for as long as he did is more impressive on his end than anything else. So that falls flat too.
Final cases usually have these pretty meaty investigation segments where fucking everyone gets together and interacts with each other, some of the best dialogue in the series is from these parts imo and Turnabout Revolution didn't really do this as well as usual so that it could instead of the civil trial which was an interesting idea but the case would've probably been stronger without it I reckon.
>As opposed to losing their careers, the company, and Trucy going to jail for murder and the entire world thinks they did it already.
Every other case has them lawyer threatened with death for losing so even that doesn't hold much weight The most "emotional" thing is supposed to be Trucy thinking she did a magic trick wrong. The victim isn't even important enough to get a proper name or backstory. The case sucks
his reputation didn't get retconned
if there's anything "retconned" to him it's showing his human side in both AAI1, AAI2, and the anime, but that's more that it was never shown before how he handled young Franny and Miles
You're probably right thematically, but...
The civil case was so fucking fun that I forgive it pretty much everything.
It has to be based on something beyond weird shipper logic for it to be canonical
Also not only did Ema legitimately dislike Klavier and blamed him for Phoenix's disbarring as opposed to being tsundere for him like what shippers like, she gets monk'd in AA6 anyway
>thinking she did a magic trick wrong
You mean murdered a man? Yeah.
We need someone to edit "Shadman" onto his nameplate.
I'm on a potato, I cannot.
Someone take my torch!
Well if she's running magic tricks that murder people with minor mistakes she probably should be in prison. Retinz should've done a television piece of the stupidity of the routine
Manov Mistree isn't a proper name?
>puberty is just a social conctruct!
>His name is a pun on him being a nobody.
The case was so forgettable I thought they just kept calling him Mr. Reus
That's what he did, though? Like that's the actual premise.
You realize it's the same in real life, right? Magicians do tricks that can potentially kill people, but the trick makes it way safer than it seems.

Rayfa
You have some really weird taste, user, but I can appreciate it.
Godspeed user
Godspeed
ah this guy was hilarious
Themselves, not others.
yeah, what about yours?
What do you mean by unique? I like Rayfa but she was basically just Franziska with the development she got across AA2 and 3-5 compounded into one game.
What? Others, too, i.e., assistants, which "Reus" was. The whole sword trick is an existing one with a lot of variations.
Anybody have that one wojak edit with Phoenix?
And has there ever been a murder trial over a bitched magic show?
Name a bigger holy shit moment
>I like Rayfa but she was basically just Franziska with the development she got across AA2 and 3-5 compounded into one game.
this doesn't even make any fucking sense
I like DGS' characters too mostly, but Iris is garbage.
Capcom has decided to allow YOU, yes YOU!, to add a witness into AA7 but the only snag is it has to be a witness who's already been in the series
Who do you pick?
The split second I though Solomon Starbuck was the Phantom
What is that monkey accomplishing? A pep talk?
What doesn't make sense?
She's Franziska
with the same sort of development Franziska got over multiple games except she gets it all in one game instead
>implying there is anything wrong with that
that are exclusive or not main characters
fuck why is susato so perfect
I didn't say there was anything wrong with that, I was just asking what that user meant by her being unique
Why hasn't any other AA game done this? A really amazingly subtle final boss that showed up in an early case in the game.
Simon was the biggest surprise mastermind in AA ever. And no before you say so the Phantom was not subtle and neither was queen bitch.
It looks like it's commanding the other animals
I'm going to fucking kill myself
I don't know why the text editor 100% refuses to use a green font. I seriously have no fucking clue why
stay tuned
She's not remotely like Franziska unless you thinking being a brat and a bitch is the same thing. Their characters develop completely differently from each other, too.
>There are scrubs that didn't know Simon was the final boss as soon as they met him
Game Journalists everyone.
>being a brat and a bitch is the same thing.
This but unironically.
Probably the whole spirit medium fuckery on top of basically being like franziska, and her pretty much having neyna as a gigantic crutch when she doesn't know.
It'd be cool/fun to have Maya or Pearl channel Ryunosuke in order to find a hidden object that may have been in one building that was rebuilt over or something like that. Having Phoenix meet his lawyer ancestor would be bliss.
FACT: IF YOU EVER GOT A PENALTY YOU ARE BAD AT VIDEOGAMES
I mean most people haven't even caught on yet that Larry is a mass murderer who explicitly targets single women, and has dirt on Phoenix which Larry uses to blackmail him into bailing him out whenever he gets caught by the cops
You're dumb as hell. They're not alike in personality or development at all, and end up in completely different places.
NINTENDO
Joke's on you, I'm too smart to not instantly reload when the music doesn't stop
>verin
This.
Wow, Apollo! Like the tan you got going!
While a lot of things are super obvious, its not always obvious how the game wants you to explain it.
Sometimes Wright just has to jump through a dozen hoops to point out an obvious contradiction.
yes they are
irrational hatred of the player character and everything they represent due to their upbringing
stuck in the shadow of parental figure
hatred turns into acting tsundere over the player character instead and starts to grow out of aforementioned earlier issues
final appearance in the story consists of being verbally shat on by everyone who talks to her
Same as Franziska, their differences are pretty inconsequential really
I wanna fuck Mia
Fucking same, my brain farted for a second but it really got me scared.
EXTRATERRITORIAL RIGHTS
The older games are definitely harder in that sense, I played DGS a couple weeks ago and I only ever made one error because I forgot to examine the evidence to get the new info added to its entry.
>Does Phoenix have no cleaning lady?
Apollo and Athena clean the toilet at various points in DD. Other than that, no, because that would cost money.
>AA2 uses the same healthbar for court and for unlocking psyche-locks
Why did they do that? It made no sense.
The circus case from JFA is the worst when it comes to obtuse logic.
Judging by how each game tries to outdo the previous one in scale of conflict, the next game will probably be about extraterrestrial rights
Rayfa has a superiority complex, not a taste for revenge. Franziska isn't "tsundere" she's just a bitch, and she never really turns in any significant way personality-wise, just goal-wise. The parental thing sure, but that's the same for like fifty characters in this series. Hell, AAI2 was daddy issues: the game.
>rewrote the whole fucking justice system on the second
But only for one case, since we've never seen these "jurist trials" since.
But we have, just not in the main line
I wasn't even aware anyone disputed the similarities between Rayfa and Franziska. The devs in general just repeat the same story beats over and over again now (happens in DGS too, before someone calls me a Takumifag)
They're not disputed because literally no-one except you sees them
Since the game has come out people have constantly been comparing to the two though? As shown above you're in some minority of opinion here, not the other way around
In fairness to Fran, she was hardly even in her own game really. You only ever face her in court twice. In the final case she gets sidelined in favor of Miles. She suffered from the game only being 4 cases long.
Where were you all when bro ruined the Ace Attorney franchise forever?
No, they haven't. What? Two anons in one thread isn't exactly a high sample size there, and around SoJ's release Rayfa wasn't really compared to anyone.
Have you really not seen people comparing the two characters? Hell you can check the archive even (even though it's sort of fucky at the moment and has gaps you can still see what I'm talking about)

rayfa was cute
I TRIED
I count 3 posts in three years, my dude. Not particularly impressive.
So I was thinking about it and I think I know what might go down in AA7, this is a hypothesis mind you but here goes:
Phoenix managed too screw the pooch big time in AA6 since it's not just typical phoenix bullshit, but between him and Apollo the 2 of them basically singlehandedly overthrew an entire countries government, in addition phoenix has already rewritten an entire justice system by himself in AA4, as well as the massive international shitstorm his childhood friend edgeworth causes in the AA7 series, I kinda wonder at what point other countries start too worry about phoenix potentially fucking their country up and phoenix and his friends actions finally proceed too collectively bite them in the ass for stirring too much shit in the pot as mere lawyers?
good work user
Good shit
Bruh play the second game he makes another appearance, but I don’t know much about it. Just that he’s in it
YOU SIR ARE A GENTLEMAN AND A SCHOLAR
I cannot (you) you enough.
I mean Phoenix realistically should've been killed and dumped in a ditch somewhere after the events of AA1 alone really.
Based.
>Franziska isn't "tsundere" she's just a bitch, and she never really turns in any significant way personality-wise
she does change and the game isn't even subtle about it at all, the character you had in 2-2 or 2-3 would not have done anything she did in 3-5
I hate that characters need to do a total 180 and formally declare that they have completed a phase of character development for people to admit that it happens
I would
After finishing doing those cheap edits I inmediately went to rub a quick one to that trap ninja doujin
you know the one
You would what, user?
I "would"
they all deserved it except for kay
Do tell, I'm interested
bruh
I'm in a good mood after getting so many (you)s, so consider yourself extremely lucky

What the FUCK was his problem?
He lives in a soceity
That takes place a century before AA and in the UK, not America. So that doesn't count.
The law doesn't do its job right. He's not wrong.
Imagine being this fucking retarded
Imagine actually forgetting who the fuck your dad was and killing because your a fucking retard
>you’ll never fuck Mimi and Ini and then Mimi as Ini
It kind of hurts knowing that Trucy still hasn’t gotten over it. She lives each day smiling for everybody else while trying to ignore the garbage reputation her family left behind.
>while trying to ignore the garbage reputation her family left behind
while also hanging a picture of her dad in the office? the same one who helped severely fuck up her foster dad's life? (though I guess if she acknowledges the latter she acknowledges her own role in doing that too)
Holy shit I don’t think I’ve ever gotten this many replies in a thread. I made a thread just like this yesterday and it got like 3 replies. Weird.
Troupe Gramarye is literally trash. All of them. Even Lamiroir. Trucy deserves her own legacy
literally /ourguy/
Looks like judgeman from megaman
I love Trucy!
Good job OP. Feels good to spark a discussion, doesn't it?
Hell yeah it does. These games are really fun. Do I play investigations or Apollo Justice after I get done with the trilogy?
play AJ trilogy then investigations
Maybe, but he has excellent taste in woman so I can't fault him for that
>the third case of investigations
Well that was retarded.
I want to violate Ema's snackoo bag
Jesus Christ, did the fan translation group hire Raimi? I can't believe the original game was so blatantly racist! It was a different time, I guess.
BASED
Haven't finished the game but this is my favorite one so far. He's just such a kindhearted guy
user...I...
Keyes and Fulbright are good and kind boys. Gant also seems like a fine chap.
I didn't like it personally, AA is my favorite.
Don't forget that charming fellow Matt Engarde
Don't forget Raymond Shields, what a nice fellow.
