The girl on the right challenged the girl on the left to a contest to see who has the most 'Girl Power', which involved pissing off all the other party members. So everyone declared them BOTH losers and made them do this shameful dance as punishment for being vapid bitches.

There's nothing wrong with the scene itself, as humor is subjective and I'm sure someone found this funny.

What makes it a cancerous blob is that it's a cutscene, and it's not even advancing the story. It's literally for a sidequest. Cutscenes are objectively bad and ruin any game they touch. Games should be about gameplay only, and cutscenes shouldn't even exist. And that's really Xenoblade's biggest problem; the gameplay is so horrible that it needs hour after hour of cutscenes and dialogue dumps just to make people forget about the gameplay.
