It's far closer to perfect than Fresh Supply is or probably ever will be and doesn't contain any of the same game breaking issues.

Fresh Supply can't even get enemy damage, weapon type damage or enemy health right, they've done a fucking shit job of porting it to their engine.

Extremely poor attention to detail, absolutely no quality assurance whatsoever, there's absolutely no reason to play it in it's current state when you have BloodGDX or nBlood, both of which are vastly superior.

It's good but has a resolution of 320x200 and even with bmouse still has worse mouse aiming. Also loading a midlevel save causes the enemy damage values to change to another difficulty. The version of Dosbox included with the game from GOG or Steam is also extremely outdated, using a recent version it runs way better.

-fire damage in general is not working like it should aka doesnt set enemies on fire like in the original game
-cultist sounds are wrong or missing
-enemies are harder to gib and there are less giblets flying than in the original game
-calebs jump height is too high. This destroys certain secrets and maps
-gargoyle statues dont bleed and are not pushable
-enemie ai doesnt react as it should. Certain ambushes in certain maps dont work anymore because of this.
-sometimes cultists in water are invincible
-sometimes zombie heads get stuck in level geometry and spin around endlessly
-blood pools tend to levitate above ground
-enemy weak points are not working properly (spiders and butchers were weak against fire in the original game...they arent anymore)

The load out is also weird as hell, I've never played an FPS where your main weapons for the first 10~ minutes in some actual dangerous and challenging areas are a melee weapon and a grenade. The flare gun isn't really a main weapon when you first get it, you get dick all for ammo and it's really just for dealing with individual cultists, all the zombies or any groups of enemies are going to be dealt with via pitchfork and dynamite. I know about the two secrets in the beginning and they're mandatory just to not be totally out of ammo by the halfway point of the first level. I've seen people say you're supposed to have something like 2 dynamite and 5 flares after that chapel entrance with the rats, which to me sounds like the equivilent of maybe 15 bullets and maybe or a rocket or two in Doom, ie fuckin nothing

The game is supposed to be hard but you shouldn't be dying instantly on LB unless you're running directly into a room without peaking at first and there's a dozen cultists. That sounds more like well done or extra crispy.

Blood always reminds me of how half-baked a lot of the levels in Shadow Warrior are. Not that they're bad, but it is clearly visible how big and high quality Blood's maps are compared to most of Shadow Warrior, as well as there also being a lot more them. SW is clearly a rushed game. And it's even worse that it was probably rushed because of the fact that 2.5D was considered old hat by late 1997 and they were probably trying to work on Duke Nukem Forever, which of course didn't even come out in the 90s or early 00s after all. It hurts bros.

You can play the alphas on Steam. Originally it was more fantastical, kind of like Heretic and Hexen. Also, the airport level is apparently one of the oldest in the game. And, yes, the game is obviously good. It has some of the highest merits, in some regards.
