Are you happy with the changes they've made Yea Forums?

i am not a happy camper. i dont want to play kingdom hearts, i want to play final fantasy
Yes because I am aware it's a reMAKE not a reMASTER and so I am not autismal about it not being a fucking carbon copy with upscaled graphics.
ATB was never turn-based in the first place, unless you were exploiting the "wait" function that's disabled by default.
Also the new battle system with "command bars" is basically a modified version of ATB with a little "action-RPG minigame" attached to it, it seems.
it looks okay but I would like to see more than the first hour of the game
Enemies can't act until it's their turn, that's turn based.
Soulless
Yes. I'm excited for more. I want to play this.
Sure it looks promising so far.
Enemies can act even if it's "your turn" if you don't fill in the command quickly enough, hence it's not turn-based.
You haven't taken your turn yet, you have the option to. Even real pen and paper games have this. The DM will just move on to someone else's turn if you're just going to sit there with your thumb up your ass.
Wait, what? Aerith has a bow in her hair, not downwards pointing elf ears?
I will allow myself to be excited if the following or better happens at E3
>trailer shows more than Midgar
>has a playable demo that's received well
>confirmed to have 3 episodes max
>release date announced for first one
>release window announced for the other two
>the last one is no later than Fall 2022
otherwise the game can eat dick
Most of that is already confirmed, like the demo, 3 episodes, release date, etc. No windows release though, and the demo is only for PS Plus subscribers.
They can, the thing in the settings only makes the game pause if you open up a magic/item menu, other than that, the "turns" are taken based off speed - that's what the speed buffs are for, you get to attack twice before your enemy gets to attack once, same think in reverse works for slow effects.
It's not turn-based like pokemon.
Do you know what "confirmed" means? None of that shit has been confirmed. Even the leak you are referring to, which is not confirmation, claims different info then what you are telling this poor bastard is confirmed.
Learn English and go fuck yourself.
No, they literally can't act until their own ATB gauges (which the player does not see) fill up.
The only thing they changed is the only one that actually needed to be changed (i.e.: the combat)
Therefore yes, I'm perfectly happy with this.
With that kind logic, anything with cooldown should be considered turn-based too.
MOBAs like DOTA2 or LoL? Turn-based! You can't use your auto-attacks until the attack-speed-based cooldown is over, hence "awaiting your turn". If you don't use your abilities you just "haven't used your turn yet".
You could basically claim that anything that got any sort of cooldown is turn-based, which is why your logic is flawed.
Don't you see how stupid this sounds? "Turns" are turns because you have a globally guaranteed window of opportunity that cannot be taken from you. At worst you still have a guaranteed timeframe within which you can execute your turn, but that timeframe is at least guaranteed without a doubt, e.g. turn-based strategy games with a timer for each turn.
ATB is not like that, since there is no global guarantee for your turn. All actions are queued independently once the input was completed and the AI can queue its "input" regardless of your own queue, hence it's "real-time" and not "turn-based".
Yes, and their gauge fills up depending on their speed.
If their speed is higher than player's, they will attack at a faster pace.
>Slow enemy
>Put haste on yourself
>beat the shit out of them before they can do anything
That's not turn based as in "you attack - enemy attacks - you attack - enemy attacks".
>With that kind logic, anything with cooldown should be considered turn-based too. MOBAs like DOTA2 or LoL? Turn-based!
not that guy but you should stop and think about it a little longer. there is no action in a MOBA that cannot be interrupted by an enemy at any given point. plus, an ability with a cooldown is just one of multiple different actions that the player can choose to take so it's not like you just stand there, waiting for the cooldown.
>arguing semantics
loser
The AI monsters' invisible ATB gauges are independent from the player's though. Even if you just hold the Circle button for a quick physical attack, if in the short-timeframe between your ATB bar filling up and the issueing of the physical attack command by holding circle, the enemy's ATB bar becomes full, it would still be the AI enemy who attacks first, since it executes attack instantly, while you need to select the attacks first. While you select an attack, it's nothing like a turn-based system. Enemy AI can keep attacking you at its own pace regardless of your actions. It's real-time. The only turn-based aspect is the queue for commands already issued, so at most it'd be a hybrid system that's part turn-based and part real-time, but I'd argue that even that is overridden by Limit Breaks, since they ignore the queue, which again tilts the game further to being real-time.
Are you honestly retarded enough to think that all turn based works that way?
playable zack sections when?
In ATB any already issued commands can also be interrupted. Either by status effects, HP falling to zero or an action being superseded by a Limit Break.
In MOBAs there are abilities that activate instantly and hence cannot be interrupted, likewise there are attacks that cannot be stopped once successfully casted.
I don't see how any of that relates to the point of the ridiculous stretch of "turn-based" still applying when your "turn" doesn't give you any guaranteed privileges of being able to take action after your enemy took action.
Are you that retarded you don't know what the word TURN means?
>turn noun
>[...]
>4a : a place, time, or opportunity accorded an individual or unit of a series in simple succession or in a scheduled order
Based on this definition on Merriam-Webster for a "turn", ATB is clearly not turn-based.

What the... what's with this kindergarten level "insult"? I thought there were a lot 10+ years old around, but to think even younger ones are here as well...
