Vergil never did anything wrong. All he wanted was to gain their fathers power to defeat Mundus. He didn't want him to have a chance to attack again. Once he accomplished that he likely would've sealed away hell again. Their likely wouldn't have been anymore casualties than what had already occurred when Temen Ni Gru was raised. Since Dante had to get in the way, Vergil was weakened by his repeated fights with Dante. He would've been able to defeat Mundus had he not fought Dante prior. He would've never been enslaved by Mundus causing his corruption. Had he not been corrupted he wouldn't have resorted to splitting himself in two. He would've never raised the Qliphoth which was much more catastrophic than Temen Ni Gru.

Is that a face mod? He looks way better there.

Vergil is weak and a jobber.

OH, I accidentally picked a face apped screencap. It's a young filter.

You're oversimplifying the reason for expectations.

Before a "DMC was never plot sensible" dismissal is waved, let's get clear DMC at least made an attempt to explain circumstances in most games.

Arkham had been obsessing over Sparda's history most his life, he didn't just happen to sire a child he could use for that specific sacrifice, he didn't just happen to run into Vergil.

Mundus didn't just happen to make or find a demon that looked like Eva, Mundus didn't just happen to stumble across a demon he made into his puppet but was oblivious was Sparda's spawn.

One user gave a fine alternative where Nero was an extension of what the Order was already doing with Yamato, Nero Angelo's armor and the Hell Gate to study Devil Arms, create Biancos and imitation hell gates. Make Nero a child genetically modified from Vergil's material to create their own Sparda approximation, to lead the Biancos during their ruse.

As is, it seems like the Order lucked out due to Vergil goofing around during his visit, and it's also odd no one who knows about the Dante scheme raised an eyebrow after Nero, who they supposedly assumed was human, survived Dante, one arm tied up, while the other enhanced knights didn't.

There's also leaps needed to get to how Nero ends up in the Order as a knight instead of just a regular civilian given his indiscretion about disinterest in their work, orders and members.

Nero being made by them with purpose explains all of it in swift fashion, tying all the stuff the Order was up to and how a descendant of Sparda was in their midst unknown to them.

Nero being planned from early on to be Vergil's kid is no secret, yeah, but it's also no secret DMC4 is where corners were getting cut to just get it out the gate. With the time they had before DMC4SE and DMC5 they could have done a lot more than Vergil's intro clip in SE and vague confirmation something happened later with the woman he walked past.

>Vergil's intro clip in SE and vague confirmation something happened later with the woman he walked past.
Wasn't there official artwork poster floating around that showed nelo angelo in them. Wouldn't that imply they had an story idea that included him?

Nero doesn't "just happen" to be Vergil's son, either. Narrative speaking, the point of his existence is to showcase Vergil's own humanity.

>There's also leaps needed to get to how Nero ends up in the Order as a knight instead of just a regular civilian given his indiscretion about disinterest in their work, orders and members.
Credo. Nero always looked up to him, so even if he didn't much care for the Order he followed Credo's example and joined as a knight.

He was almost certainly supposed to be in the game, yes.

Attached: 152.jpg (2112x2808, 626K)

It's also not a coincidence that Nero ended up with a family high up in the orders ranks. Their story about Nero being left on their doorsteps is bullshit. I think his mom was probably sent by the order to seduce him.

Daddy Vergil is better.

>Mundus is dead

Yes

Credo was high up in the ranks, not his family, his parents were only described as being really nice and the only ones not blinded by their own bigotry to realize Nero has white hair like their Savior.

And of course I forgot to add that Nero actually lived in the orphanage and it is unknown at what point was he brought into the family.

>Nero actually lived in the orphanag
I'm not sure that's true, I thought he was abandoned at Kyrie's family doorstep as a baby.

No, he was abandoned either in front of the orphanage or brought there soon after, Kyrie's parents were just coming over to take care of kids like Kyrie does now.

I could've sworn somewhere in the novel it was stated their father was high in their ranks and trained Credo. I must be miss remembering. I don't think he was in the Orphanage very long though.

Maybe you're mixing it up with how Credo taught Nero to fight with a sword.

Again, I don't think that's what the book said. It did say other kids and adults hated him though.

devils-lair.org/dmc4novel.html

>"Nero was an orphan but Kyrie (who is one year older) and Credo weren't. They had parents who were faithful followers of their religion. They believed in helping those in need just like Sparda did, which was why they often volunteered work at the orphanage where they first met Nero. Both parents took a special liking to Nero due to his rare silver/white hair which reminded them much of the god they worshipped, and soon enough the family got close to him. "

>Mundus is dead
That's simply wrong

>Nero was never a religious kid but after the death of Kyrie's parents, he stopped believing in god entirely. He thought that if god truly existed, he wouldn't have let the kindest people who prayed and believed in him so much die.

Sweet Nero.

I wonder if Nero ever told Kyrie that he's the grandson of her religion's God.

I think she can put two and two together when she's introduced to Vergil.

>so much of this has already been retconned.

Why do they bother with these novels?

Squatting souls are canon.

What's been retconned?

I just got done with mission 14, are these guys as hard as everyone makes them out to be?

Mild nuisance in the regular playthrough if they clip through walls or the floor but they're not really threatening, in Bloody Palace if many of them spawn it can be a hassle keeping track of which you're fighting but if you use the right aerial moves and fight them closer within the area so they don't go out of bounds I've found they're tolerable.

You should pay attention when there are several of them and you see a spear suddenly land, that's when one slip can turn into a disaster.

>novel confirms Vergil is for sure dead. Clearly he's not.
>Vergil visits Nero in spirit, but in DMC5 he has no idea who Nero is.
>Red Queen and Blue Rose were destroyed in the statue

There's more but I don't want to dig through it again. I don't mind though. The novels are garbage anyway.

Thanks, which aerial moves should I use?

Was it actually said it was Vergil visiting Nero in his dream? I mean, one can go around the contradiction by using the fact Yamato was made by Sparda.

If you are playing on DMD and Very hard, and without style mod, yes
ALso.
FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3 FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3

how did such an asshole spawn such a good kid?

It seemed to be heavily implied by what the spirit said to Nero. Unless Vergil inherited his power autism from Sparda.

Either way these novels never age well.

>FUCK VERGIL 1 AND 3
At the same time? But he can't make doppelganger yet for a threesome.

But Vergil didn't raise the Qliphoth. In nicos notes it says the Qliphoth just happens. Its how mundus got his strength, because he happened to get there and eat the fruit before anyone else.
Vergil didn't cause the Qliphoth but he knew it was coming so thats why he picked that time to get back the yamato and split himself

I love Dante

>Unless Vergil inherited his power autism from Sparda.
I just remembered, it was said somewhere that Sparda split his immense power and put it into the sword because he was afraid he would succumb to hunger for power.

nah bro don't u know Vergil is ace

Attached: canon.jpg (1077x1673, 633K)

it was not literally Vergil

Attached: dream_daddy.jpg (1080x1097, 428K)

>novel confirms Vergil is for sure dead.
Not really, Nero just gets a vision of him. Also Vergil has been fucked up in who-knows-what state for like twenty years.

>Red Queen and Blue Rose were destroyed in the statue
They do have completely new designs in 5. Either they were destroyed or Nero just built whole new ones.

>"Your portal opening days are over"
So what was Urizen doing in the house for like over a week before the Qliphoth appeared? Urizen still had Yamato with him, I thought that the implication was that while he didn't directly cause the Qliphoth, he opened the portal with Yamato to let it into the human world.
just because some things go against the canon doesn't mean literally everything/the entire novel is. At the end of the 4 novel it says that Nero starts his own demon hunting business in Fortuna and that Dante sent him a DMC sign, which carries on into 5

Are you using Dante or Vergil? I'm typically using Vergil so atop having spiral swords out so being near them is getting work done, it's trick up DT Yamato Aerial Rave until the cows come home. Sometimes Rising Sun catches them on the way up but Lunar Phase usually just has me spinning mid-air like an idiot while they weave around me. Same with Dante's Cerberus revolver.

Swordmaster, Agni and Rudra's rising whirlwind, aerial cross works as long as you don't find yourself hovering over an exploding spear, twister and tempest works as long as you don't get interrupted. Cerberus, aerial swing and flicker have quick attack output, so if their behavior changes you can react to it.
You could go with Nevan but as neat a Devil Arm as it is, it never feels like it has impact and I always feel too vulnerable shredding while they're circling about ready to swing or throw something my way so I've just chicken shit away from learning it unless it's against slow and knocked down mobs.

>I thought that the implication was that while he didn't directly cause the Qliphoth, he opened the portal with Yamato to let it into the human world.
But if that's the case why did he wait a week?

That last DMC3 thread made me think of something
Do you think it was Matt sourcing ideas for a DMC3R? DMC5SE would be great but I honestly wouldn't turn down remaking 1 to 3 first if it was on the table

maybe he had to go to a specific place in hell/had to find the Qliphoth in hell first so he just wandered around there for a few days? idk man

Attached: puzzled_nero.jpg (1200x675, 105K)

I don't really think 3 needs a remake honestly, it just doesn't seem necessary
I wouldn't say a remake of 1 is really that necessary either but I think it would make more sense and I could see some things they might want to modernize/improve on. Not saying 3 is perfect either mind you (although I love it) but still

Big Mundus

>how did such an asshole spawn such a good kid?
he wasn't involved in raising him
also the opposite could be said for Sparda, we don't know much about his personality but we know he WOKE UP TO JUSTICE and turned against his own kind to save humanity, but spawned Vergil

Attached: 467bbe4e-c021-48dd-87a4-22947b6068d2.jpg (1024x1024, 176K)

>pic
Holy shit that's ugly.

Yes, he woke to justice, which is another way to say he stopped being a typical demon asshole. The opposite happened to Vergil, who was a nice kid until Mundus fucked everything up and caused him to think autistic gathering of power is the path to survival.

>not liking rich CHAD glorious mane of locks Spahda
loser

You know, this pic could totally work as a cover of a DMC music album.
