Games are either unplayable upon release or not. It is virtually impossible for something to 'become" unplayable. Only way for this to happen is a fucked port or rerelease, which would still count as it being unplayable upon release.
You being rusty or more accustomed to QoL improvements in subsequent releases does not make a game unplayable.

Had a friend who I kept telling not to buy the piece of shit demaster. Least to say he hardly got any enjoyment out of it when the playerbase dipped and he realized it wasn't fun. Now I just poke fun at him for buying it asking if it's still active and worth it which always pisses him off.

I've had that happen when I set a game to 300fps cap.Got to like 64C-74C for my GPU . Set it back to 60 because my monitor is 60hz and it went down to like 30C-40C. Guess limiting fps is a great way to reduce heat buildup.
