You shouldn't really need to retry more than once or twice for days 1-10, but once HEs start to show up you are probably going to be restarting a fair amount unless you don't mind losing employees left and right.

Later on you'll have enough middle tier employees to send to those teth/he/zayin abnormalities when they melt down. You'll lose enough energy from ignoring tools.
Even if you can kick an abnormalities ass, it's worth working them, since they might otherwise kill clerks or something - sending someone to work on them is infinitely easier and faster.
Also, not wanting to work on ALEPH is false and dumb. They give you a shitton of energy and once you have an employee that can reliably work them, you might as well do so at least twice per meltdown (they have the highest energy output after all)
the only obvious exception to that rule that comes to mind would be SO, where you want to farm gear/maybe even the gift, but otherwise only work it on meltdowns
