What is the best element to use in video games and why is it fire?
What is the best element to use in video games and why is it fire?
>not lightning
fire is the only one that's consistently useful.
I prefer wind earth or water but as far as the usual ice/fire/lightning trope goes yeah I’d take fire.
>not earth
>ywn tickle torture azula's armpits and sides while she's in this position
This, earth is the best.
Name 3 games where earth wasn't trash.
This guy gets it
Toph or Ty Lee?
>not being a cryomancer
Get out of my meal.
Fire is for kids
Water is for adults
Earth is for hipster faggots
>Not water
>Not tearing the human body apart cause its made of 60% of water.
I usually got ice or water
A question for the ages my friend
Yes
Neither.
based
>you will never play a high quality Avatar game
It isn't fair bros.
Kinda sucks in Nioh.
water is based
>not metal manipulation so you can pull the iron out of people and watch them slowly die
No one gives a shit about the mary sue element.
Metal control
Because most people are dumb fucks that don't understand how thouroughly wind and water can wreck your shit.
>Nickelodeon IP
>Dedicated to THQ
It was never going to happen.
>Dedicated to THQ
?
Rock
>is heavy
>is hard
>it can become sand
>it's coarse
>it's rough
>it gets everywhere
>is fucking everywhere
>when there's a comic where Magneto did exactly that.
Ripped the iron out of two guy's bodies then turned it into bullets to kill a third guy.
>not water/ice
Leave
What's your favorite element, Yea Forums?
I want her to try to dominate me.
Then I want to dominate her.
Earth is the best element.
>Open hole beneath enemy
>Watch them fall in
>Close Hole
>Profit
Easiest 3 step procedure of all time.
Why is water always associated with healing?
Why can't fire be the one that heals?
>tfw cauterizing wounds via fire magic
What if the enemy can fly?
>C2952H4664N812O832S8Fe4
>functionally metal whatsoever
I'm not even on board with water bending blood but sweet kung fu jesus that would be dumb.
Earth.
Because actual Buddhist canon on chakras
What did he mean by this?
Ice, I just fucking love everything that have to do with cold temperatures, when I die I would like to die freezing.
Ice is just solid water.
I think you mispelled Ice user, it's ok, happens sometimes.
>there will never be a good prequel-sequel series about Aang discovering Roku's journal and reading it, so most episodes are mostly flashbacks and a few bits with the Gaang
>the comics and Korra will never be retconned (With whatever good parts they has being adapted into a new canon)
It isn't fair, bros.
Because fire is a retarded element that destroys everything it touches.
light always light
Because that isn't, exactly, healing a wound.
Not really, a place can be very fucking cold but not damp.
That's the chemical compound of hemoglobin. The 'iron in your blood' is less than 1 part per 2300.
>not really
Ice is just solid water.
What are games that use light offensively? I’m not talking about healing undead or imbuing weapons with light like Paladins do but full out assault with light that basically smites and shit that erases people out of existence. I know priests in WoW have holyfire/smite as an example but what else?
This guy knows the score.
Light is for faggets, literally the most homosexual element there is, what are you going to do?
How about a very cold metal? is it water?
TWEWY has this one character that can summon holy beams of light using his cellphone as one of your party members and you can focus light energy on your foes using a specific pin.
Assuming that you're painfully average, Water is probably the best and most versatile. Everyone pretending like they would be gods of their element are all fucking delusional.
>Thinking having ice powers exist when in reality you're just a different flavor of pyromancer
realistically if you were to suddenly freeze something, the energy has to go somewhere.
>Grab people and suck the heat out of them, freezing them while making you untouchably hot
>ignite someone by freezing the surrounding area and transferring all the heat to a victim
>etc
Blind everyone before stabbing them or something
Good thing airbenders were wiped out then
Firebenders exist.
>pick up rock
>throw it
>smash a guy with the rock
wow so hard
>extend arm
>do a motherfucking fire column
>roast a guy
wow so hard
>be gay
>do gay wind shit
>kill a guy with your gayness
wow so hard
>Light = Elecromagnetic radiation
>Blind them with regular light
>Burn them with intense rays
>destroy their cells with gamma ray bursts
>create a kugelblitz by focusing light into a singularity
I always wanted to see what it'd look like if fire/ice magic were tied together through conservation of energy. Every game I've seen with them treat them as separate things with no balance.
Sounds amusing I’ll definitely check it out.
But user the water guy can just make a fuck load of snow to do the same thing and then turn the snow into ice spikes to kill everyone
The fire guy can make a huge ass explosion that will very likely just kill everyone
The earth guy can just fucking throw a motherfucking boulder at you, what can you do against a boulder flying directly towards you user? try to blind the boulder?
I used to do a killer boulder impression
t. underage darkfag
Toph easy
Four elements trainer.
Dark is just as retarded.
Dodge the boulder.
Definitely try it out, man. Game actually has some pretty fun elemental/psychic powers.
Conetrate it like light from the sun which can burn if you use a magnifying glass. Conentrate that light but even on a larger scale since I can basically control the light and make mini lasers
Concentrate*
>delusional fuck thinks he would be able to bloodbend people whenever he wanted because he can bend water
Dark is overpowered if it includes shit like gravity.
They can only hfly over during the comet.
Earth guy binds your legs with earth itself so you can't move, or makes you fall in a hole, or makes the ground shake so you fall or literally just creates a spike right under you to you kill you directly, earth is honestly just fucking broken.
Fire Emblem has light magic
Light magic in Sacred Stones in particular get pretty fucking powerful by the end of the game because you're up against monsters and demons
Most people in Avatar are not very good at using their element. So yeah, it would be pretty tough.
kek that’s some anime shit right there.
>Fire
>Always sounds the coolest
>Always the most enemies that are elemental resist:fire
Ice and lightning are consistently good. Earth would be cool but it always sucks
probably because living things are 60-70% water, so you can mend tissues by manipulating water in them. Of course it means that you should be able to tear enemies apart with the same kind of magic.
Is this an actual game or just some fan vn?
Most people are not very good at using a gun, yet they can still kill anyone easily.
Joo Dee
Honestly blood bending was creepy as fuck.
Just the concept alone was gross. Now add in the body horror of watching your body get rekt and you possibly dying and you have a nightmare scenario.
I’m legitimately surprised with just how much shit they were able to get away with on a kid’s show.
What games have 8 and more elements?
Not if they can't aim the gun, but nice try at false equivalence. You wouldn't be a good bender.
imagine bending the blood flow of your dick
Pokemon and uhhhhhhhhh probably some stupid WRPG
Azula flies before the comet arrives, both in the episodes running up to the finale. But she uses the exact same ability to outrace Aang in the season 2 finale under Ba Sing Se, just keeping on the ground. I can see you arguing the end of series was thanks to the proximity of the comet. But I can't see that months before, and can't see discounting it just because she didn't accelerate up.
Brainlet
That's called blood bending in Avatar. It can only be done by the best of the best water benders. I think it requires the moon and sun to be aligned on the sun side of the earth as well, aka a king tide.
nuclear
Half monsters are immune to fire in hell dumbass
WRPGs are shit, SHIT!
No she doesn't. The only ever uses bursts of energy to push herself in another direction, she never flies.
>get close
>pull the trigger
>shoot a guy
wow so hard
>get close
>use your power
>kill a guy
wow so hard
This is a prime example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
She leaps up and back a hundred feet between two car-sized platforms. That's enough to escape a hole in the ground and as much "flying" as Aang did without machine assistance.
She never flew, you dumb ass. Watch the show again. You are unironically just showing how i'm right.
>as much flying as aang without machine assistance
Watch the finale again, and no I'm not talking about when he used the avatar state.
>zuko settled for the flat as a board emo bitch instead of this qt
>never even showed up again
I'M STILL MAD
Thanks, I know i'm right, you would be shit. Have you ever even fired a gun before?
lmao don't tell me you didn't learn to do it yet?
>high quality
Zhu Li
Are you genuinely retarded? just how incompetent you think people can be? even the most fucking below average person there can be could do some serious damage if given the chance, fictionally or not, give a gun to a child and see what happens.
Why would I ever pick someone who isn't Azula
Water/Earth, becuase Healing and Magic Protection/Armor.
Because you developed actual taste?
What element lets me raise the dead?
I'm surprised by the relative lack of wind/air support in this thread. Wind is always my favorite element. Flight, tornadoes, occasionally lightning depending on the setting and if we're in Golden Sun even mind reading.
youtu.be
>had the choice between wincest crazy sister, sexy yet cute gymnast and bedroom-eyes girl literally asking for his dick
>chooses weird ass haircut robot girl so flat people deny the existence of South Pole on her
was he retarded?
That would be necromancy, or just bone bending
I hate them.
Earth unless we're pretending that "Darkness" is an element
my man
Very. How deluded are you? Most people are incompetent and stupid. Most people don't make good fighters even now, so what makes you think most people would be good benders? Most people in that universe aren't even good benders if they got lucky enough to be one. You're a god damn idiot. This is like saying everyone who plays video games must be good at playing video games.
Probably Dark, or Light sometimes.
Not him, but one has to be Divinity. It has the ability to slow enemies with oil, heal undead teammates with poison, and give rock armor, to name a few.
Ok retard.
And he got cucked by his bitchy emo gf. He made the wrong choice.
Water is normally represented as life and heals ... but the dead return to the earth, soo ... probably earth?
yea but are "Darkness and Light" really elements?
I'm more concerned we'll never get a decent movie series
azulaXzuko is the OTP tho
Nope, they aren't, but developers don't give a single flying fuck and make them elements anyways.
So? Thanks to the iron core it can carry more oxygen, you'd most defiantly get an oxygen deficit if the iron were to disappear.
If I didn't have taste I'd choose one of those options
in FFIV the Earth Elemental boss was a zombie so there's a precedent set.
but yeah Light and Dark being elements is dumb but it's a tradition now
Raising the "dead" should be necromancy which is manipulating the human body, which could loosely be water element.
Controlling skeletons specifically shouldn't be necromancy, they're just bones, it should be some sort of telekinesis magic instead.
pic unrelated
Go read up the dunning kruger effect, because you fit it to an absolute degree. You are completely filled with delusions of grandeur.
>dude just pick up gun and shoot its easy!
Sure, maybe in a vacuum and even then you still have to take gravity and distance into consideration. In reality you have other factors to deal with, such as the direction your target is moving in and how fast they move, temperature, angles, muzzle velocity, trajectory, wind, drag, line of sight, and angles. But no, you must just be that good. Fucking moron. You would be shit at bending and you know it. You didn't even deny never having touched a gun before yet you used shooting a gun as an example of how easy bending would be.
It's not ice.
come up with your own bending moves
Easy on the autism user you might get an aneurysm that way.
But is cold.
Not an argument.
>TLA shows how hard it's to be a master bender and do stuff like metal bending and use lightning, apecially without dying while trying
>in LoK everyone and their mom uses those skills
I've always wondered this, but I also realized fire has other practical healing uses, such as alleviating aches and pains using heat, being able to create warmth in cold, along with cauterizing a wound. I think with both water and fire elements combined you'd be able to reattach a limb.
Can earthbenders do anything to wood?
Korra is terrible, this isn't really noteworthy at this point.
>Takanuva
>Gay
Fuckin nice fail on that one buddy. Try again next time.
>one of the best professional bending athletes in the world is a lightning bender so that means everyone is one
>Toph's family and their protege are metal benders so that means everyone is one
Which is used. Iroh's Breath of Fire basically stops Zuko from freezing to death by warming his body. That's just first aid though, the majority of all bodily functions are reduced to exchanges in fluids. Which Water has dominion over because this isn't Wheel of Time.
>TLA: Iroh talks about having to separate and guide positive and negative energy, before bringing them together and providing release, creating lightning
>Azula drilling the shit out of the technique and is upset when it's less than perfect
>autism aside, the movements and circling traces of electricity are pretty cool
>LoK: You can shoot lightning bolts instantly with one-handed finger guns
nope. water benders can control vines and living plants somewhat. nobody can do shit to dead wood.
The best waterbending move there is.
Are you going to actively ignore the city wide factories run by lightning benders?
nah, earth bending specifically relates to rocks. Water benders can fuck with plants though, like how Yu bent the swamp vines.
>not balance
Wind, what u gonna do? Give blowjobs.
>Lightning
HELL YEEEAAAHH BROTHER
You could use earth bending to bend fossils maybe?
I happen to be rewatching TLA right now, currently in Ba Sing Se
>that entire episode of Aang going mental after Appa is abducted
Amazing show, Korra isn't real
I'm sure fire would have other useful survival aid and such, you just gotta get creative. Nothing's coming to me rn tho lol.
It's spirit magic basically magic which manipulates spirits. Spirit element/spirit damage is a thing. Not all fantasy world have to conform to our worlds laws.
ATLA - The Avatar State is all the previous lives acting through the currenr Avatar
Korra - Spirit parasite.
>no one has posted the dick-activating image of her chained up in incoherent rage
burning your enemies is a pretty good survival technique involving fire
Lightning gets lumped in with Light element a lot of the time, but when it's not, I can't think of many instances where lightning is the legit best element. In suikoden III, fire hit harder but it had big AoE that could harm your units. Lightning simply targeted all enemies.
Light speed monk
ATLA - iron age tech except the Fire Nation which built functional steam engines, everything is powered by benders
LoK - 80 years later it's 1920's New York because we want a mafia, and more steam punk, and professional bending sports, but we still want the old characters to be around as old people.
>are "Darkness and Light" really elements?
In fantasy they exist as elements yes since you can find substances or materials made up of light and darkness either that or people pray to powerful deities which grant them their power in the form of darkness and light.
Quest 64
Dragon's Dogma
Nioh
>city wide factories
There's nothing to indicate this. You're assuming it's the city's only source of power. Our power comes from various sources, why wouldn't theirs? There's probably only one or two in the city, with about a dozen lightning benders. In a city of... what, millions? That sounds about right.
"Not making sense is a tradition."
Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Punctuation, you retarded German nigger
If bullshit like Haki didn't exist imagine trying to stop these logia dudes.
>implying I'm a kraut
>giving a fuck about it on 4chins
Faggot.
It's probably more because it would end up making earth overpowered, I mean earth can already summon animals, elementals, ents and what ever, imagine giving them skeletons, flesh golems, zombies and what not. Granthed by Divinity logic it might make sense because poison heals undead, but still, it would be pretty OP, if you wanted to play a summoner.
i'm pretty sure that's why Oda created Haki. That and Luffy being unable to feel blunt force trauma
>Not ice
You could build snowmen and shit with it. Sounds fun.
Those dont count
So you think there's only one fucking lightning bending factory in the entire city? And you think millions of people live there? God damn you really are gullible.
How many do you think there are?
That too but usually necromancers, or well common necromancers in fiction simply bind wandering or freshly dead spirits to golems, or can call them back to do their bidding in the form of banshees and so on. It doesn't gave much to do with earth element really.
have*
Fire, like swords and warriors, is merely the most basic element/class you can pick. It''s only the best if you're a total beginner since they have high damage and the enemy will get burned as a plus.
But water/ice have healing and status weird trickery, lightning usually empowers you much better and also fucks up with the enemy, wind brings some speed shit or AoE....
Fire is honestly only better than Earth and that's just because Earth is usually about physical hits and tanking and I find it boring to play a game about magic and focus on that.
Avatar is the best example of mature vs edgy. That bloodbending feels more real and creepy
than the copious amounts of gore you'll find on a regular anime yet people claim the latter is more "mature" because it shows death. But the writers from Avatar were trying to tell an adult story and were only limited by censorship, like Nickelodeon outright telling them they can't show nor talk about Jet's death so they just implied it as strong as they could and later on commented on it in the movie episode
>Zuko: Did Jet just die?
>Sokka: Eh, it was kind of ambiguous
More than the one that your stupid asshole thinks there is. Not to mention that most the most common and widespread source of metropolitan-powering energy in our world is natural gas. Did you see any hydro plants or wind turbines there? Fsctories run by water or wind? No, probably not because the show never actually did any of this stuff, but it went out of its way to show at least one factory used to siphon energy from firebenders. And for some reason you assume that it was the only one in the entire city because it makes the show look bad.
>yet people claim the latter is more "mature" because it shows death
Maybe 12 year olds will claim that.
But druids can commune with spirits, can they not? And they're nature/earth boys. Doesn't sound that impossible to draw a connection.
because water is the essence of life.
This is the dumbest argument I've ever seen in defense of Korra. Which may be an achievement. Lightning power is the only power-source shown until they start using Doctor Robotic technology. There's a mention of a shortage of power which is probably used to siphon more power off the grid to power the PLATINUM GIANT ROBOTS.
It would not take a single fucking minute of thought to imagine every every bender type could create force to cause a piston to stroke or an engine to spin to produce power. But we don't see that. But since you're arguing the world has swaths of things it is never suggested to have to justify the overwhelming negative perception of what it is shown to: I'm at least happy you hate Korra just as much that you want to have a top-down rewrite in your head just to defend it.
what the fuck is wrong with fire nation girls?
>Imagine being a water main.
Lol driplets are pretty much mercy mains.
youtube.com
you best not underestimate the power of pressure my nigga
Toph
>Doesn't sound that impossible to draw a connection
Very true you can. Druids don't have to be the type of cliche hippy bearded guys that can only communicate with forest spirits. But I'm pretty sure they don't call back the dead to cage them inside flesh suits against their will.
first is a basic combo but easy to do and hard to dodge
second is the Double Dragons when you move your arms to form a spiral of flames
Based sunbro
In Digital Devil Saga, Earth got added and it was part of a weakness triangle with Electricity and Force. Argilla had the perfect stats for a spellcaster and her demon was Earth Element.
In Shadow Hearts 2, Yuri's Earth transformation had the biggest body, so it had an easier time hitting multiple enemies in combos.
There isn't a single bad earth skill or spell in Tales of Symphonia. Presea's entire moveset is just smacking rocks into the air all around her and she's a tank.
The main protagonists of both Golden Sun games are earth element. Earth Adepts seem to be built like tanky paladins with decent AoE earth spells, strong single target spells in Ragnarok/Odyssey, and potent healing spells.
If it counts, the double boulder transformation in Kirby 64 was one of the best abilities, surpassed only by the Boulder/Cutter ability that let Kirby transform into rock animals.
Earth is easily one of the best types in Pokemon
Hmm, they might be able to put them in trees to make ents tho. Whis there was more of that. When was the last time a game let you summon an ent.
Fuck off Mandarr
Fuck you for reminding me the comics exist, asshole.
based bionicle poster
Earth is the best element, but it's never given any justice in games.
>Defenses trumps all other elements with barriers/armour.
>Offense is second only to fire.
>Extremely versatile in combat, can literally control the battlefield.
>Highest non-combat utility value
If a game would treat earth magic anything close to how Avatar envisioned it, it would be broken. Instead, it's just Phys. Def Up spells or creating platforms.
It was interesting in the beginning when they could still counter their opposing elements but yea, unless you planned for it beforehand there's not much you can do against a lump of poison, light, magma and so on. Oda needed something to balance the powerlevels.
If you're talking about the X-men movies, I'm pretty sure Mystique injected one of those guards with the shit Magneto pulled out.
>When was the last time a game let you summon an ent.
Keeper of the grove in WC3. You target a bunch of trees and turn them into ents.
>Ty Lee and Toph never found a love interest by the end.
Why even watch?
So 15 years ago.
>they might be able to put them in trees to make ents tho
Yep and that's how multiple lores regarding the Wood Elves roll, that when they die they can get reborn as trees/ents basically.
About Pokemon, yeah. Earthquake is to be used on any mon who can learn it, while Fire Pokemon can be strong but fire moves themselves aren't that used. Fire moves are mostly a crutch you bring in in case of type advantage, but Earthquake sees neutral use on everything. It also helps that the Pokemon who get them are usually well suited to being physical sweepers and the star of your team, like Garchomp or M-Charizard X (who sometimes doesn't even carry a single fire move)
The fight sequences in Korra is amazing, the entire series just got muddled by Korra's stupidity.
nobody is worthy of Toph.
Ty Lee
The mud wrestling?
Hearthstone as well :^)
Korras action was just well animated. The choreography was shit.
My man
>POV shots of acrobatic dodges.
>Active reduction of unique fighting forms.
>Scenes cut like live-action movies for some reason.
>Giant near immobile robots.
>Beam struggles.
More things happened at once, but that's really all I can agree in favor of Korra.
Hey guya
>creepy
More like badass. Imagine bursting every single capillary and artery in some dude in an instant. Biological abilities are always busted
Think of it like this: reading used to be considered something only educated rich people or priests could do. Hell back in the day, they used to move their lips when they were reading silently and if you didn't do this, it was incredible talent. Nowadays,, literacy is near universal in first world countries and nobody but kids mouths words as they read unless they've got a disability.
Final nail in the coffin and sealed the shows fate. These episodes ruined the entire series.
>Ents are elves.
BURN IT ALL DOWN!
Yeah but this was less than 100 years skip in avatar, while yours is several magnitudes longer. Not to mention that there are still people who can't read today and only truly skilled people could do things like bend lightning. It is supposed to be so powerful that not doing it properly can easily kill the user.
My dick x azula you mean
B-But ...
I mean even if this was fucking wonderful and amazing. What would come after it?
Do people employed as writers not know that when you tell the beginning and end of things in your fictional universe: you exhaust all interest in developing the story further?
Avatar could've been the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of this century if it hadn't been so fundementaly mishandled.
Elemetal rankings:
1. Earth. (Best defense, high offense and utility, can create just about anything including structures, attacks are strong as bricks, can make armour and barriers. Metal and lavabending.)
2. Water (Healing, bloodbending, ice functions as a weaker earthbending, plant control. Requiring water is its biggest downfall.)
3. Air (Flight, movement, can choke enemies, air can block other elements. Air is everywhere so )
4. Fire (Only good for combat and highly situational work like blacksmithing. Can generate fire from thin air.)
Second looks like if you tried to firebend with airbending moves.
>Can generate fire from thin air.
Can they? I mean in the sense that "the air is thin", and on top of a very tall mountain?
Switch air with water and this is based
W-What should I do, Yea Forums?
yeah I was first trying to mix multiple bendings in my moves but I realised only one guy in the world would find it useful so I kept the best idea I had, being the Double Dragons
>Toph is cute, sheltered and feels unliked.
Not even a competition.
Now it's a competition.
Pic related to make the choice even harder for the femdom anons.
Don't masturbate, just have sex with her.
back when magic had actual weight...
when was the last fire emblem that had good magic animations? RD? feelsbad
>No tuck her in option.
Daw, ruined.
it's too early in the game, you get to fuck her after a while don't worry
>>in LoK everyone and their mom uses those skills
you are a dumbass
Firebenders can fly without the use of gliders
Play a better game
If you go back less than 100 years, literacy rates were abysmal. It's not a direct comparison, just an example that certain skills are a lot more attainable when there are more teachers and information is more available.
In the fantasy world of Avatar, I think it's fair to assume it wasn't ever really purely about skill (though does require quite a bit, ie: Mako being a pro-firebender) to actually perform but rather it took incredible skill and talent to discover these skills without training. It was probably Iroh and Azula's raw talent that let them learn it in spite of not having a teacher.
I don't know why it loses its lethality, that's definitely just bad writing. I can see how using lightning in a little room just to power a generator is easy, but in battle less so. Probably just Mako being a gary stu.
Oh please. Azula is a knock off of a better version of the same smug sadist character type earlier in the show.
>le super powerful and fast little girl
This is the gayest meme
Just an expression. An airbender could probably easily snuff out a firebender by removing oxygen and they can't firebend in the extreme cold or I imagine, on top of a very tall mountain.
And splashing some water on it is?
Just bend the air out of everyone's lungs like Zaheer
she's a psychotic bitch who doesn't understand basic emotions and get easily frustrated when you point out her bad points because she doesn't want to change, she wants everyone to think the way she is is the perfect way of being
its 100 years after avatar you really think nobody in that time won't figure out lighting bending and what if azula or zuko made it public knowledge use your fucking mind
>in spite of not having a teacher
What're you on about? They both had teachers. Azula was having her moves critiqued in the second scene she was in. Granted by nonbenders, but old as crap people that seemed to know her movements produced a slipped bang hair without looking at her face.
Iroh learned firebending and then learned from the masters of the source of all fire bending. Ozai knew Lightning Bending too. So it's really strange to think they weren't all taking classes from royal tutors that included How2Lightning.
Whatever the case, air is the weakest.
Literally how do you advance as an Earth bender when all you do is grab rocks out of the ground?
Forgot about her, probably because uncle Iroh already claimed her.
There is a canon reason for this and it's literally because the Fire Nation is militaristic so they completely fucked up the fire style to not do healing.
bigger rocks
W-Wow user, slow down!
MAGMA BENDING
Learn to bend metal, like Toph.
>make it into armor
literally nullify lightning, wind (harder to throw due to weight), fire, and water
This guys Toph art has made me blow so many goddamn loads
Risotto deserved to live
I don't remember it being shown in Avatar, but usually in elemental based spellcasting, Earthquakes are the endgame for Earth.
Actually, smaller rocks in the form of sand. Sand bending is pretty much water bending with more friction. Imagine getting smacked around by sandy tentacles that shred your skin like sandpaper.
Can we all agree that TLoK is worth watching just for this Chad?
Get so strong that you can throw mountains at people.
I don't think you know how grounding works whatsoever. Being inside, at best, superhot rock armor is not good for your health.
No. Nick was right to fuck over Korra at every turn. What an awful show and terrible sequel it was.
First series had Aang use crystal armor.
Sand bending
Metal Bending
Korra introduced magma bending, which could be used how you'd expect, or used like a floating lightsaber shuriken.
Is Kora actually a lesbian or is that just the fanbase doing the same thing they always do?
Earth Sense like Toph is an end-game skill.
She decided to be in the last 3 minutes of the series. That is not hyperbole.
I mean even without outright earthquakes, I imagine fighting Toph with martial arts on land is near impossible when she can just fuck with your footing by instantly moving the ground on your feet so you'll stumble and fall.
Considering the multiple dances people do to bend their elements, suddenly getting their feet trapped would screw them at a key moment.
Of course, it's mostly useless when she can just throw a big rock they can't counter at them or fully trap them instead of just messing with their footing. But standing on the ground fighting someone who can control said ground isn't easy.
She's a rug-muncher full-stop. The series ends with her holding hands with another female lead and gazing longingly into her eyes as they enter the spirit world.
no she is bi so you can still read your self insert fanfic
The lesbian shit was a last minute addition for woke points because the show wasn't renewed for another season and the show-runners had nothing to lose.
why is it every time there is a avatar thread retards are crying about shit
hay retards this
So no build up hinting, maybe some solid reasoning, like every male she ever deals with ends up ruining her existence or something, just "I have the gay now"? Already sounding like something I don't wanna watch.
The game is mediocre and people only ever care about ships because the writing is terrible and the worldbuilding is shallow.
which guy
>freeze 3 niggas as they rush you
>have one dude's head explode
>use his blood as a projectile to kill the second dude
>leave the third one frozen
Would be fucking sick but only during the full moon.
Probably because it could have been really good but made some really dumb choices, like the Avatar line thing.
Isn't she one of those rare characters that mainly got pron based on her sexuality? Well that and pron of her with a benis or the other grill with a benis, but still, grill on grill.
>be air temple
>nobody ever defected as pacifism is bad
>literally nobody
How? How wasnt there a single defector? Surely there was someone who hated pacifism and used his full potential of air bending?
Avatar TLA is a 9/10 show and arguably one of the best pieces of western animation of the past 20 years
It's all of the expanded-universe trash that causes such shitstorms within the fanbase
what the fuck did i just read
This is the worst post I've ever seen but in a good way
i only see retards crying about there headcanon
I don't think the air nomads were ever pacifists. They're more than willing to act in self-defense.
The only reason why they were wiped out is because they secluded themselves and were blindsided by the fire nation utilizing technology they'd never witnessed before.
Losing all interest in men after having a disastrous three days trying to date then deciding to go for women isn't "Bi".
Korra got porn because she's a brown muscle waifu
They knew about the incoming invasion.
Did they ever expand blood bending was it always just super taboo? I imagine you could unlock higher levels of healing with it.
It's okay user, read slowly, you'll figure it out eventually.
>Losing all interest in men
>bi
what bro?
Has any water bender ever tried semen bending?
Were they aware about the mountain-climbing steel tanks or no?
>No game where every element has it's own healing properties
>No Fire healing modifying the metabolism to increase regeneration speed and circulation.
>No Earth Healing bonesetters
>No Air healing with breathing exercises to expel toxins and disease
>No metal healing neurology by manipulating the sodium and calcium in your neurotransmitters.
yes
>Avatar's final battle
>satisfying
Lmao no
Aside from being well-animated, it's surrounded by plotholes and asspulls and stands as one of the show's few blemishes
There was none of that. The mechanized warfare didn't come into play until after the first comet pass, and we see the character that claims to have invented the majority of the fire nation's war machines. Except their ironclads.
Air nomads went down because the Fire Nation just timed their 100 year power right.
>Avatar TLA is a 9/10 show
I dunno if I agree with this. At times the show was a legit 10/10, but it was wildly inconsistent and sometimes the quality would dropped to either inject humor out of nowhere or to subvert a difficult situation that needed a difficult solution.
I like the double fire power up on kirby 64. It looks like a moltres using sky attack, even though sky attack is a flying type move.
Did you see Aang in the finale? He took giant slabs of stone and compressed them into smaller rocks, then broke them to tiny pieces to basically use as bullets.
Maybe when you were 12 and watching it for the first time it's cool
When you look back on it now, you only realize that the spirit bending shit literally came out of nowhere, only to serve as an assault that kept Aang from having to confront his moral dilemma of whether or not to kill the Firelord.
>assault
Asspull
You have to leave
Does one stay bi if they decide against ever being with a specific gender no matter what ... Suppose some people would insist on you still being labled as something you don't consider your self or want your self to be labled as since you're not really doing that thing, so I suppose the best way to be what you actually want to be is keep your mouth shut so people won't try to label you as anything but the thing you're trying to be.
Still dont know how not a single airbender rejected the teachings of pacifism and purely self defense avoidance tactics in favor of reaching to the fullest of potential using offensive abilities and inventing newer ones.
this bolin throw a building at someone
There's definitely a couple of dumb episodes (mostly in the first season) but they don't really detract from the overall narrative that much.
Which is why I say it's a 9/10 and not a 10/10.
Fuck no.
It absolutly was. The fight between Ozai and Aang was fucking great. The resolution was an asspull, though.
So if they have teachers, that would explain how they could all lightning bend.
Mako and the generator schmucks were also taught. It's just now the teachings aren't restricted to royals. Mix in living in a city where bending styles are shared and mixed (remember how lightning redirection was invented by firebenders using waterbending techniques?) you've got your reason why lightning bending is more common 70 years later.
That's exactly what Zaheer in Korra season 3 did.
Also all of the air benders have been dead for 100 years in TLA; even if there was a traitorous air nomad, he'd be dead by the time the show takes place.
Can a gay guy be straight if he marries a woman, can a bi person ever be gay if they refuse to be with a sepcific gender, can a straight person be gay if they marry their own gender?
Some of my favorite bosses are Iblis (sonic), Py-ro (crash bandicoot), and chilli billi (banjo tooie).
you could eventually learn to do it without the use of the full moon
firebender girls
Is your question "Can people change"? Because I doubt you still call yourself a preschooler, even though you once were.
Well, Korra had bloodbenders strong enough that they pretty much had access to the The Force at all times and could fling entire rooms of people around like ragdolls.
This was just more korra mary sue shit. Only a few people were able to do this and they were all family members.
>Knew the invasion was coming
>Proclaim Aang an airbending master
>Decide they need to teach him more airbending
Huh... y'know thinking about it. That's kinda dumb.
What were they able to do before?
Yet reaching it isn't the only factor. Iroh even tells Zuko that only incredibly skilled people can do the technique. Not only that but it requires some kind of spiritual and mental level of prowess. Zuko could never lightning bend despite being taught, for several reasons.
Yea but that's not quite the same thing now is it user, after all your answer to "can you be a preschooler 30 years after finishing preschool" might be the same as the answer for, "can you be a man if you were born a woman?". Sure people can change, but there's a point where you might see physical limitations that prevent such things. You can call a duck a pig, but it's not gonna make the duck turn in to a pig, or the man in to a woman. However I'm not sure if the same can be said about the gay guy who marries a woman or the bi guy who refuses to be with a specific gender.
Ice is literally broken as fuck OP.
>Projectiles
>Barriers

>Intense weather manipulation
>Cancels out fire, nullifies water
>Mode of transportation
>>Intense weather manipulation
since when does ice gain the abilities of airbending?
>Cool air around you
>There is now a large pocket of blizzard surrounding the area
Season 1 Episode 14

I think all but two episodes of the series are great to phenomenal. And I'm actually confused what everyone's problem with The Great Divide is.
Earth is literally broken as fuck OP.
>Projectiles
>Barriers
>Shelters
>Intense terrain manipulation
>Cancels out fire, nullifies water
>Mode of transportation
anyone remember that one episode where katara goes to learn with an old lady that can manipulate blood?
that was rad
>Earthquakes are the endgame for Earth.
>not meteors
I rather liked TLoK, even with the more retarded aspects of it. People make it sound like it was a horrible bastardization of the Avatar spirit, but frankly I think they did some neat things with the villains.
Each of the villains in Korra is essentially a manifestation of the most badass evil shit that could possibly be conceived in the Avatar universe during her timeline.
IIRC it's because the characters' motivations don't really line up with what's been established, and Aang lies through his teeth about something important to both tribes.
Avatar Day is really the worst episode IMO. There was a great opportunity to explore a group of people who had been wronged by the Avatar in the past and remain untrustworthy of them, but the entire episode paints them as if they're 100% wrong, and lacks any nuance whatsoever.
My guy.
My guy (1).
Amon is wasted potential and the water dude from S2 is a joke.
Zaheer and Kuvira were neat though.
>all these fags not choosing Ty Lee
I wish more fun and bubbly chicks would appear in my life
I thought Amon seemed pretty legit. The ability to terrorize a populace by threatening to take away people's bending is some next level shit.
I agree that the dude from S2 was a joke, but I really, REALLY liked the shit about the very first Avatar and the period when the spirit world and the living world were both one. The way they tied it into the reason why some people have bending and others don't was great, IMO.
Water is literally the source of life on this planet, and fire destroys cells.
Amon was really cool up until they unmasked him and revealed he's just a manbabby with daddy issues.
He would've been better if he remained as a more Joker-like character, representing the "idea" of equality and that even if they take him down, there will always be more people just as passionate about egalitarianism as he was.
Also the retcons s2 made to the Avatar canon were horrible and removed any mystique the series had remaining. Those episodes weren't even good as standalone faire.
Bone element
What retcons??
A meteor would be traveling too fast and would be too far away for you to manipulate the material within it. It's why meteor spells are usually connected to time and space manipulation rather than raw elements.
Aw jeeze, looks like /sci/ is here.
You are correct though, user. That nigga saying things are as simple as they look is genuinely deluded.
It's like no one here actually watched the show. It's Yin and Yang. It controls spirits and crazy monsters in the spirit realm. Also lets you control your own and other people's souls too. Only really the Avatar uses it though.
The fact that bending was simply granted to people with lion turtles rather than learned from various creatures.
The whole thing about the "avatar spirit" being a magic carpet that was literally the essence of all things good, instead of leaving the Avatar as a more neutral entity.
Sauce
>learned from various creatures
Oh shit, I forgot about this. But wasn't that just an educated guess that most people agreed seemed reasonable enough to explain how bending works? It doesn't explain why some people are born with the ability to bend and others aren't.
Also, it seemed to me more like the avatar spirit was a spirit of "order" and the other one was the spirit of "chaos." That explains why the avatar is intended to bring balance. I suppose it can be depicted more generically as good vs evil, but idk how you can consider the hero of a story about bringing order into the world a neutral element rather than a "good" one.
In TLoK they tried to fit the creatures back into the canon (by having benders train with them rather than learn their abilities by studying them) but it's still a noticeable retcon.
And normally I'd agree that the carpets represent order and chaos, but the show itself seems to disagree with that notion. Raava and Vaatu are in complete opposition and it's made painfully clear that Vaatu is 100% evil and Raava is 100% good and virtuous. There is no "yin-yang" sense of the two balancing eachother out, rather it's more like an angel and a demon trying to dominate the other.
Bioshock.
Fair enough, these are pretty legit criticisms. I guess it didn't bother me quite as much. If I went back and watched it it'd probably irk me a lot more now than it did when I first watched it.
Delet, pls.
If you want to watch a super autistic, several hour-long breakdown of season 2's failings, look up "Korra: a Defacation" on YouTube and watch the 3-part series.
It's kinda rambly and repetitive, but it's still a solid explanation of why so many people dislike S2.
demystifying avatar was a big mistake and setting it in the 1930s is stupid. They sacrificed everything in ATLA for that bitch Korra.
>no more avatar state and thousands of years of techniques/mastery
>spirit world is shit
>spirits are general assholes
>lion turtle instead of cool shit like dragons, moles, flying bisons, and moon/water spirits
>useless sub plots
>insufferable cast of characters
>literal deus ex machina in season 2
>kaiju/mech battle at the end
I want to rant more but E;R videos pretty much sums it up.
A tie between air and water.
Look at this girl
Earth
why are fire nation girls so sexy?
what do they put in the food over there?
all of them
Because the fire nation people resemble east asians more than the other nations.
>Avatar Day
Yep that's one. The other being the first half of the Winter Solstice.
>Aang lies through his teeth about something important to both tribes
That's one of my favorite moments in the series. I could go on for an hour at this but I can't see a practical reason not to side with Aang. First because he tried getting them to agree in their own self-interest and none of them followed the guidelines. Second because the tribes are wrong about it being important. They're war refugees. Their homes are burned to ash and ruins. Harboring a grudge is not important, and it's the most destructive thing we see them do. No part of their lives are improved by holding another group at fault for a mistreatment generations ago, or the perception of a mistreatment.
It's this mistrust that has everyone in Zhang and Jin tribes lie to him. Which put him, his friends, themselves, and a man dedicating his own life to helping people like them in danger. That's before the reveal they lied and they show their willingness to start killing each other. Not just because they did lie and endanger each other, but specifically in the name of their tribe's martyrdom against the other. Ending conflicts should be anyone's goal as a mediator. Aang fabricating trust and peace out of nothing but a story is admirable.
>Bio is just a glorified poison status
It just works so well why don't other games do this
since i suck at drawing i'll explain:
it's a finisher you use on weakened enemies.
with the two Sumo steps you encase the opponents lower and upper body half in 2 slabs of earth. When yous slap your hands, those two slabs twist in two different directions, breaking the spine and ruining the torso
tfw no waterwife
>not picking water
>the life force of the planet
>can both kill and heal anyone
>medical notes and anatomy become spellbooks
How the fuck do people choose earth over earth
She looked like that? Damn. How did she turn into a shriveled old lady who could only heal.
Wouldn't you agree that Mako is very skilled? He's shown to be at least equally skilled as ATLA era Zuko and a lot more cool-headed (essential for lightning) with the benefit of growing up in an environment where he can learn from many other types of benders many of whom are pro-benders.
I don't think spiritual training is stated as essential for lightning bending. It's more about mental state and training. Neither of which are impossible if you're not a royal, just unlikely by circumstance.
Iroh probably believed that metalbending was impossible until Toph did it.
I don't think we're ever shown a non-skilled firebender using lightning except maybe the generator schmucks and even then just because they possibly couldn't use it in a fight doesn't mean they could never do it in a controlled situation like their job.
It makes total sense that lightning bending is more widespread in LOK. It's not genetic it's just about having access to the right training.
>TLoK is worth watching
Amon was such a good antagonist before he was unmasked as a bloodbender. I liked his concept a lot more as this mystical nonbender personification of rebellion. When he resisted bloodbending and kept walking, I got chills.
Giving him an identity under the mask was a mistake, it was never about who he was but rather him as a representation of the non-bending class.
Also they did a piss poor job of showing how Amon actually affected change in Republic City for the non-benders. That whole issue went nowhere.
Grimrock
*ahem* FUCK KORRA AND FUCK DYKES
>always thought she was hot as fuck GILF tier
>in the last 2 seasons they made her gay because of virtue signalling
she never got enough porn, and making her a rug muncher just cemented that
Fire can heal in Black Clover. iirc there's two fire spells that did, one was a pheonix cloak or some shit and the other was candles.
Perverts draw porn of lesbians all the time. TLK didn't a quarter of the TLA porn because people didn't like it enough, and it didn't get the same level of exposure because of it. Which lead to less interest, and thus less exposure as time went on and it repeated itself.
I always thought Plasma seemed pretty cool a la the Pahrak-kal but you don't really see that outside of bionicle.
I miss Avatar bros.
I know Korra was far from perfect but I'd honestly love another series of Avatar.
Could either be a sequel to Korra OR a prequel long before Aang's time, there's a ton of avatars to work with.
>still no great avatar action game
just let it die man, there's noone that can make a good sequel to avatar
Where's the new Korra comic scans at anons? People have been getting it early
This. Just watch it again every couple of years.
Well there is a live-action remake coming on Netflix soon.
It's going go suck, but it's still more Avatar content I guess.
the problem is that the writers have gone off the deep end, as evidenced by LoK and the ATLA comics which both not only were shit, but also retroactively ruined characters who used to be good
anything new we would get from them would only do more damage to the series as a whole
>live-action remake
>Netflix
After Death Note, there's no way anyone is expecting anything good. At most it won't be as ridiculously bad as the Shamalama version.
>the ATLA comics
>Firebenders just go around shitting fire everywhere, sometimes lightning and Waterbenders just go around slapping people with water, it takes special training and a certain time to do broken shit with bloodbending
>Meanwhile Earthbenders can pull people into the ground and Airbenders can pull the air out of your lungs but usually just don't because it would be broken as shit
>writers
I thought only 2 of the 5 principal writers came back for Korra.
I thought the comics had different writers.
>every couple of years
you mean every couple of months
Yeah, this is true.
The writers who made TLA as good as it was (particularly Aaron Ehasz) were absent from Korra and the comics.
I would take even a mediocre sequel to Avatar, because frankly the rest of western animation isn't even trying. I would take a thousand Korras over most of the shit being released today.
near the end of the show i just wanted to hug her and tell her everything would be alright.
If you don't want to hatefuck Korra, you might be a communist.
>hatefuck
Does it have to be hatefuck? Why can't I lovefuck her?
Korra was an unholy abomination which pretty much ruined whole series.
>An RPG in the Avatar universe where you're some random bender.
>Get to pick what nation you were born in.
>Explore the nations.
>Fighiting/training levels up your abilities with weapons/hand to hand.
>Train your specific element bending, based on what nation you pick, by finding scrools/trainers and practicing. If you don't have enough practice with the spell you might fail or backfire.
>Meet interesting characters, maybe even the new avatar.
Never ever, bros.
fire heals in dark souls (and it's not very impressive)
four elements trainer book 4 WHEN?
>Most
Most things at all times are at best standard and range to crap. Don't pretend most of eastern animation doesn't also have a ton of crap.
>Remember me, anons?
Imagine being Katara's husband and having sex with her. With some experience she could use water/blood bending to enhance your sex life.
Imagine her making your penis accumulate more blood, making your erection larger and throbbing. Or imagine her manipulating blood/water to make her vagina even warmer and slimy with fluids. Or imagine her increasing your semen production, allowing you to have longer, more intense orgasms.
And what if she could get rid of your refractionary periods? Damn you could be at it for literally hours, with both of you being at a constant state of orgasm and the pleasure never subsiding. Heart attack from the fatigue and excitement would be a legit concert, but Katara's bloodbending also takes care of that risk.
You would only have to stop and rest after the pain starts becoming overwhelming enough to distract you from the constant ecstasy. Hell, with Katara as your wife you wouldn't have to touch the gym to get ripped, your bedroom would be the most effective workout machine out there.
Yeah, being Katara's husband would be nice...
She went for the rug nibble, she's never coming back, this will give birth to the rage of 1000 suns in the average male user, making love impossible, due to the fact that she'll never love them.
I wasn't even trying to start an east vs west thing, but they are practically different genres with almost entirely different priorities.
All I'm saying, what would I watch nowadays that's even at Korra's level? An action cartoon with decent animation (yes I remember how bad the second season was) that's character-driven and has arcs? I don't want replies that shit on Korra, that's so easy to do. I want new action-oriented shows that are at least watchable.
I dig that crazy bitch.
Man of taste I see.
>Azula being the sub.
Oh my.
Is she a power bottom
For such a perfect show, TLA doesn't have much memorable music
this
just do a marathon every year, like every other sensible human
take that back you nigger
youtube.com
youtube.com
maybe even a MMO, where you meet other benders and do some raids.
Khorra still had some really good storylines though. They just needed someone to watch over them and stop them from doing dumb shit.
Metalbending
Using bending on your enemies skeletons due to their mineral content making them eligible targets
i too expected him to be severely scarred or something due to abuse from benders
they gave him weak motivations because if they didn't he wouldn't be seen as a villain
Agni Kai is hype as fuck
>Sokka had a really good song that was never added
youtube.com
the best thing about Korra was sparky mans daughter
>girl taller than guy relationship with Zaheer
more shows should do this
As long as you can still have npc companions, maybe something like that one star wars MMO and as long as you can ignore the obligatory erotic bloodbending RP town.
>Mfw animated shows dont have music anymore
I noticed a shit ton of western animated shows dont use background music at all anymore or very little of it. A good example is the simpsons where they had the little intro tracks at the beginning of the show with tracks to reflect mood of certain scenes. Now its just mute and personally its off putting for me.
Noticed it for cartoon network shows too when niece watched them. That looney tunes show where they live in modern world (i have no fucking clue what its called) had absolutely 0 music and it was really baffling seeing as how looney tunes are known for full orchestras doing sound effects for everything.
better than just slapping MUH SUPER EPIC MUSIC in every scene
I recall that moment when he enters the avatar state on those sand guys, being pretty hype "TELL ME WHERE APPA IS!"
Fire is unga bunga
Thunder is for meta min/max fags
Earth is for hipsters/contrarians
Water is for heal slut
Ice is for galaxy-brain players
>everyone in the sequel is gay
The Legend of Korra had so much fucking potential. Fuck the creators to the moon and back.
>what do you do with a burn
>BURN IT???
no retard you put ____ on it
>This """art"""
How mighty have fallen.
It's pretty obvious he'll just end up with Mai anyway.
You missed the point of it.
If Aang had killed Ozai he would have killed the last Airbender as well.
In b4 people genuinely don't understand this.
you say that, but it's a step up from the shit we got before it
I'm happy that Zuko ends up with Mai because they are made for each other. They should have an wholesome life together though. Fuck everything that comes after the original TLA show anyway
Yeah without Aaron Ehasz as the lead writer nothing that has come after ATLA has been of great quality. Without him in charge and assembling his own writing team you'll never have any kind of real successor to ATLA. I don't even consider Korra or those comics canon, and with good reason.
Depends on the specific game but if movement tech is a thing whatever element makes you the most mobile wins for me. That's usually either air or water.
I must be retarded because I have no idea what you mean by that.
This isn't some retarded "if I kill you then I'll be just as bad as you" shit, right?
Zuko got a really satisfying ending battle. Aang's battle against Ozai was kinda good but had an asspull ending. I did think the writer dig themself into a hole at the season finale of season 3. They basically gave the antagonists so much plot armor to escalate the dire situation after the eclipse invasion. Aang's side literally lost everything and accomplished nothing with only a few episode left when the fire nation going to get a huge power boost from the comet. Multiple episodes throughout season built up to stop the fire nation was for nothing. Then, basically, everything has to completely turn around within the last 2 episodes in the final confrontation when the fire nation is at their strongest. It's hard to believe that the Lotus can defeat the Fire Nation during the Comet and the handful of Blimp is all the fire nation had and get taken down by just Aang's crew alone.
Their entire world and nature is defined by those 4 spiritual cultures and peoples.
Air Nomads do not kill. Had he killed Ozai he would have killed the last Air Nomad. Destroying the cycle himself permanently.
Waterchads
RISE UP
Except he talks to a previous air nomad avatar and she tells him to do it.
Except she would do that when other Air Nomads existed. Had he done that it would have been wrong and betrayed the foundation of his people and their very real spiritual faith.
He had to act as both Air Nomad culture in its ENTIRETY as well as the Avatar.
>Air Nomads do not kill
Right. And Aang's entire conflict was whether or not he could betray his principles to stop a tyrant who's deternined to destroying the world.
And then he's magically granted a get-out-of-jail-free card by a lion turtle that literally solves this conflict for him without demanding that he confront this moral dilemma. Which is really cheap storytelling.
