>sword saint
>most devastating attacks use polearm
Huh?

every sword tech you learn is a pale imitation of one of his, so yeah

>he follows it up with a gun

>turns a sengoku-era pistol into a semi-automatic

>''''''''''Lady'''''''''' Maria

There is an area called Gun Fort. Him having guns make sense.

posting in this thread because the last archived and it's not worth making my own and this is the most relevant one I could find, hope user sees this if he's curious

Well where was armored knight originally?

Kensei translates as sword(ken) saint(sei), but it literally means as "strongest person at this moment of time". There is only 1 Kensei at time, so you kinda fight living legend.

Is it just me or was the lighting downgraded a little bit?

>sword(ken)
But Ken from Street Fighter doesn't use a sword?

Spears are just long swords idiot

>snake eyes shirahagi
>you stab a snake in the eye in the beginning
kino

>great ape
>is pretty great
All smiles

who knows?
maybe he didn't exist yet, maybe he was originally planned to be a boss that you can deathblow and had extreme health and armor compared to posture, maybe they had some other gimmick way to kill him or another area you were meant to ledge him
my guess is one of the first two
looks mostly the same but they probably changed mt. senpou, like how lothric castle was supposed to be at night and untended graves was supposed to be the darksign sun area
pretty sure it's on pc with max settings so you can't compare with console

He's mastered the sword enough to know gun beats sword

> it literally means as "strongest person at this moment of time"
No it doesn't
Where did you get that from

>Although there is no such written rule, the title carries such prestige that is commonly understood that there should be no more than one kensei at any given time.

Also
>Kensei is a Japanese honorary title given to a warrior of legendary skill in swordsmanship. The literal translation of kensei is "sword saint".Thus, the term is considered by some to imply a higher degree of perfection (possibly also encompassing a moral dimension) than the more commonly used kengo (剣豪) or "great sword".

I wonder if they intended lightning reversal to be so easy?

Ive beaten Sword Saint version three times. Now trying to get the Shura ending and can't beat the ''normal'' version of him no matter what. Hod do I deal with his stupid ass fire attacks and especially the attack that comes after the flame bursts out of the floor?

You can run around most flame attacks. To avoid the floor one, just wait a second then jump.

The floor one, do I jump above the flames or jump on him? I constantly try to gain a little distance from him when I see that attck coming and try to see a safe spot on the ground, but he likes to rush to me before the flames are even completely out and unleashes a flurry of attacks.
Can the floor attack be interrupted even?

>he gets a spear
>when mikiri is a thing
he's asking to die!!

I used firecrackers on him anytime he was winding up a fire attack.
Also I didn't realize until after I already beat him but there's an umbrella upgrade that blocks fire attacks that I would imagine makes this fight trivial
it's cheesy but a shinobi should know the difference between honor and victory

i always use feather against that attack and it works out pretty great

Being the sword saint he has learned the absolute truths of the sword. Gun beats sword.

A better weapon is naturally more dangerous.

>He's just using bullet sized swords

Lighting reversal is easy if you are just encountering it, but actually harder if you you are expecting it. If you jump too soon it does not work. You need to force yourself to wait half a second.

Not Sekiro's sword.

Omae wa mou shindeiru

he literally pulls out a glock, it fires like a semi-auto

i cheese all from games and feel no regret especially with sekiro, the difficulty feels artificial in many places.

is saint sword harder than old man ishin? i fucked up hard and chose the bad ending on my first play thru and ishin whooped my ass. now on ng+ and got one shotted by fuckin ape's grab in the 2nd half of his first phase. how fucked am I for owl and other boss fights i missed?

I assure you it's not. Gitgud is probably the most apparent in this game and I'm jelly of people who can NG+++++ no problem because Owl and Isshin stress me out, though I find the rest of the game pretty trivial.

You called?

ken is also fist

yeah but what happens when your opponent has a shield?

These are the only fights I look forward to

continue poking them with spear

i think genichiro is the best fight in the game. its not retardedly hard like the owl n ishin which i think were too fuckin stressful for me

But what if TWO shields?

Guardian Ape and Corrupted Monk (especially after patching the first instakill) are GOAT though

get TWO spears and poke TWICE
