I need really good and long JRPGs. Like, shit that makes you cry when the Japanese woman sings over the credits tier.

Lufia 1 + 2 on SNES
Grandia 1, its legitimately bitter-sweet and melancholic
20 years later and I'm still bitter that they didn't show Feena and Justin at the end. What a fucking cop out.
Lost Odyssey. The Thousands Years of Dreams short stories alone are FEEL as fuck.
Basically the whole Persona series, but 3 is the one that gets me the hardest, as well as my fav.
The Xeno-games as well, literally all masterpiece tier from what I played
i recently played Xenogears and Suikoden 2 on my Vita, both masterpieces
Xenogears is amazing, shame the second disc is lackluster. Could have been a perfect game if not for Square's incompetence.
Xenosaga episode 1 and 3 are fantastic. A lot of flaws with 2 and some overall but if you enjoyed episode 1 then surely someone would be willing to push through 2 to get the conclusion.
Xenoblade 1 is great, though a departure from Gears and Saga. X has great gameplay and world exploration and that's it. 2 has nothing of interest if you've played previous Xeno games.
Shenmue is amazing and epic
FFXIII, XIII-2, and LR
Never played the Saga games, but I found Xenogears and Xenoblade 2 to be masterpieces. Xenoblade 1 is pretty good, but much more generic in its story. X is one of my favorite games of all time, the gameplay, atmosphere, world design, and side quests are all god tier.
>Xenoblade 2
>masterpiece
OH NO NO NO NO THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVE THIS

FInal Fantasy X?
Persona Q if you already played Persona 3 and 4
>shit that makes you cry when the Japanese woman sings over the credits tier
Final Fantasy X
If only they didn't ruin the perfect ending with the post-credits scene.
Nier Automata
Agreed. Fuck the post-credits, fuck X-2, and fuck the stupid novella.
Persona series
>automata long
It's got exactly 100 hours in it, and I didn't even do all there was to do. Not the longest game, but it has the best tear-jerking singing credits to date.
Automata is like 60 hours maximum to do every single thing
I guess I just play slow then.
a JRPG is how long you make it, but you're right the average seems to be 60 hours.
60 hours is decently long.
I see a lot of mixed opinions on it but I really enjoyed Ni No Kuni 2. It won’t make you cry but when it wants to be heartfelt it does a pretty good job of it, and it’s decently long if you just blow through the main story doing the bare minimum and really long if you wanna do everything. Not 10/10 or anything but it’s worth a playthrough imo.
Wild ARMs
I'd agree if I didn't know what the contents of automata were. It has a lot of junk side quests and searching to do. The side quests have nice dialogue sometimes but that's about it
