If you're not going to play the original game on hardware of the time or use dosbox, then GDX is the next best way to play.

PCem is also a great emulator that I use for dos Its way more accurate than DosBox

Does it count if it got windows/console ports like C&C?

Would it have fucking killed them to put more ammo in the first episode? Hitscanners that also throw dynamite is bad enough, couple that with tight enclosed spaces and the game is fucking brutal in the first episode. That train car ambush is sadistic.

I may be wrong, but I had that game and I am quite certain it ran in windows. I'll look it up after I post, in the interest of intellectual honesty. I might be wrong. I've had a lot to drink.

Ported to windows in 95. Which makes sense, because I played it on windows 95 and had the Mercenaries expansion.

There's a DOS version, a Windows 95 version, several versions made specifically for various early 3D cards and one version that runs on Direct3D I think. They all have their own problems but the DOS version has the least by far.

how do i play this wihout aids ridden mouse inputs

mah nigga

people posted my favorite ones already except for gta1

they really wanted you to find those secrets i guess. what i've always wondered is how the fuck did people handle the non-wasd controls back then? it worked in doom but blood is too fast

fresh supply isn't too bad

The last popular DOS games came out circa 96/97 so the majority of this board has probably never played or grew up with them.

I had played Duke 3D before Doom 1/2 when I was 5 or 6 as one of my first FPSs and solely used the original keyboard layout for a few years after that.

Granted Blood was even faster than Duke 3D with hitscan out the ass, but I could demolish Duke so I am sure I would have at least been able to survive in Blood.

You just end up corner peaking and shit more often with those kinds of control schemes, instead of running straight into the chaos.

Currently, but I'm holding on hope that fresh supply gets there

I still live by these words to this day, probably saved me multiple thousands of dolars.
