SotN is pretty overrated desu. It's still technically very impressive, with excellent graphics and music, but in terms of mechanics and level design it pales in comparison to the later entries in its own series (let alone earlier competitors like Super Metroid).

i will never understand chrono trigger being way higher than ff7 despite both being made basically by the same team at the same time,ff7 is always way under it in every list,is this the 2d nostalgia or just a trend? both are basically the same kind of game,what gives?

ff7's story recycles more of chrono trigger than it seems at first glance, and it does all that shit worse
ff7 is only okay desu. it's not much better or worse than the surrounding titles, it's just well known because it's the first one most people played
