For one game, "showers you with resources" means "plan your ufo collection route carefully, know when and how to fill up then focus down the big ufo, also the margin of error is pretty thin as missing a kill/collecting a wrong ufo/getting your shots blocked by the big ufo at inopportune time means losing potential resources", and on the other hand it's just "play normally and your score goes up also hit the PoC sometimes to nab the green squares".

IaMP's gameplay is simpler than soku, but the controls are incredibly awkward and make little sense. The game isn't bad once you get used to it though, especially if you want something a bit less "Anime" than soku.
The thing is that the community is very small and almost entirely comprised of older players who will kick your ass. Soku has a lot of good players too, but it gets beginners often so you can always find people to play with.

The rules yukari set up for the game say that if Mokou is killed, she's allowed to come back and participate in the investigation and trial, so she could give testimony on her own murder
this is part of chapter 2, they find Cirno dead in the trash room, and while Reimu goes to tell everyone, Mokou is inside the trash room which Remilia guards outside. They hear no sound, but when Reimu goes back in Mokou's dead by a bullet to the brain.
the monokuma file omits the time of death, and from that, One guy in the YouTube comments came up with this huge theory that Mokou is the killer, killed herself earlier, came back and killed Cirno, and is now the blackened investigating herself

AoCF is the most beginner friendly. If you want to just mash buttons and play for a bit then go for it. A lot of casual players prefer AoCF because they'll play through storymode, try out some super laggy netplay, and then stop.
Soku is the best if you want to play online and invest more time into a game. If you want to play against other people go with soku instead.

If you're a total beginner, just stick to arcade mode (Story mode is very different from normal gameplay). For AI difficulty you can put it to whatever you feel comfortable with, but the AI is not a substitute for humans.
Once you feel comfortable with the controls, you'll want to play against players. There's a beginner's channel in the discord, but you should probably still expect to get your butt kicked if you don't have experience playing against people. You can get good enough to beat up the AI without trying but humans play very differently.

For me it's just a series I play for maybe ~5 hours per month. I've been playing since 2013 and just recently got my first Hard 1cc (game clear with no continues). Since the games are so short, they make for great timewasters whenever you are looking for something to do for a bit. Between the mainline games 6-16, fangames, and len'en there's plenty of touhou-like games to keep it fresh.

Nah. You guys like to think Cave games are better because it's faster paced and more zoomed in (and older), while Touhou is slower but more "puzzle" oriented. In reality, even some Touhou stage 1s mope the the floor with Donpachi's later stages, the thought put into the patterns can't be matched by anything else in the genre.

HSiFS. Could be a little more balanced but the idea behind it is great, scoring is incredibly fun in that game and shot types aren't the mess they usually are.
EoSD and PCB are up there too, simple is good. UFO is oddly satisfying but has major issues with scoring and power recovery being unfun.
DDC and MoF have really bad mechanics. It's a shame because I really like everything else about MoF, but ZUN just had to implement chaining

You can make a boss doesn't shoot a single bullet for a long period of time by flying close to them. Also, the beast pickup doesn't disappear during game dialogue so you can exploit it to get full otter and nullify the boss' first nonspell completely.
