Probably because they didn't design the zones with flight in mind. Generally games only texture what you can see and leave untextured what you can't.
Flight opens up being able to see from a bunch of new angles unseen before, meaning they would have to go through each map and patch it up. Also account for new areas that couldn't be reached before

New players do not accept the concept of cleaving

Even standard trials get this. I had A4 normal today where two people got us killed because they ran into the stack marker despite having target indicators on them. Then in Seiryu Normal I had people tethered to the adds run into the healers line stack AoE. In Kugane I had people trying to stack all the donut AoE's on top of each other so the middle would be safe, despit it meaning we'd all be hit with all the damage from the attacks at once.

it was the samurai that messed up. notice his weapon animation. from what I had to guess, he was trying to get one last weaponskill in before using the backstep oGCD skill to move to the stand marker. But they failed to remember that backstepping off ledges means you immediately fall in the pit.

If that was the plan then they probably should’ve really had him kill Yshtola instead of it just having been a reason for her having to “be out for the count” for the main story. (Obviously they wouldn’t do that though)
Honestly though, he does have a lot more blood on his hands compared to Gaius, so maybe that’s what they’re going for now until another Haurchefaunt can happen. By just having the side characters be “super pissed off/I’LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU” towards Zenos since they know there’s a good chance the player doesn’t 100% feel the same way.

Groups still do the old Savage (XIV's Mythic) raids for fun occassionally. They don't really give you much of anything as far as rewards goes though, just some glamour stuff and the odd pet/mount if you don't already have them.
Normal mode stuff and trial fights are easy to find groups for in the Duty Finder since high level players have dailies that put them into that content for tokens you can spend on gear/materials/etc.

Zodiark is the final boss of XIV. I imagine he's being saved for the rumored big 6.0 finale.

depends on what content you're talking about. if you're talking about eureka then it's going to be dead when the new expansion comes out because it will be replaced with a new thing. if you're talking about 4 man dungeons, they never get dead because of the df roulette system.

I have never played FXI but I have played all the other Final Fantasy mainline games and blue magic has always been awful. You cannot just use blue magic blind in any Final Fantasy, you have to know what spells are good first. In FFX for example there are never any uses for Khimari's blue magic that Rikku isn't 100x better at. Quistis blue magic will never be touched by someone playing 8 blind because you have to use rare items that need to be refined. In every Final Fantasy game blue magic has always been a meme that you need to know exactly what specific uses it has before you even use it and it's always the least effective way to do anything.

He is the worst character because he is the only character stuck with blue magic. Seed cannon does less damage than a Lulu spell, Lulu gets to cast 4+ spells with her limit. Tidus get's to hit for full damage for multiple attacks, Yuna get's to gift an Aeon with 2 overdrives, Auron can knock entire enemies off the screen instantly killing them or debuff all bosses defenses. Wakka has the best limit break if you play Blitzball, Rikku's limit break is extraordinarily useful if you know the combinations. Khimari is bad because he uses blue magic even in the expert sphere grid where you can give him whatever stats you want to.

Yeah its also 8 percent of all of his blue magic. His other spells jump deals slightly more damage than one attack, self destruct deals as much damage as a ra spell and removes him from the battle, fire breath is just an aoe ra spell that is fire based, stone breath is actually really good at taking out random encounters, aqua breath is water fire breath, thrust kick is the same thing as jump, bad breath is useful to debuff some bosses but not many since most are immune to status effects anyways, doom I don't think is usable on bosses but I haven't tried to use it so I'm not certain, white wind can be good but a mega potion is often better, mighty gaurd is awesome but Rikku can cast it too and Nova is worthless because you are already hitting the damage cap when you get it and it is not a multi hit move.

I found butterflies to be harder than the chocobo race on my first play through but I can see how it's easier once you know the route by memory. FFX is a pretty easy game anyways once you are hitting for 99k so everyone is viable but Khimari takes more effort to use because he doesn't have a multi hit 1 million damage per turn like Wakka.

well for starters luminous on PC supports multithreaded CPUs, crystal tools runs on a single thread. this means that content like eureka is possible in ffxiv without dropping to single digit FPS on a core i7

Technically you can make break limit weapons with dark matter but that is way harder than just getting the celestial weapons and they wouldn't ignore defense like the celestial weapons do.

Yes his stats do suck, but even using the expert spheregrid to make him the same as Auron or Tidus he is still less good than them because he uses blue magic. His overdrive is just the worst in the game because it is tied to blue magic and he only gets 12 spells in the game, most of them are reskins of each other and none of them hit more than once. He can be a great character if you do use him but he will always be less great because of his overdrive.
