One trick pony that refuse the make more disgaea games and instead make games no one wants

A lot of their talent left and joined CH/IF.

No monies.

>CH/IF
>talent
Unless that 1000x Nep game ends up being the new Crysis because of NIS staff I don't see what kind of talent they could have lost that would prevent them from making good games

Trillion was made mostly by said staff and was a good game.

Their mobile app bombed HARD.

trusted Sony.

Abandoned their core in favor of mobile and shit no one asked for. Just the usual mismanagement bullshit. They'll either let themselves get bought up like Gust or they'll go under and both cases are shit options if you just want Disgaea.

>spend all that money to make a Disgaea mobile game
>get $0 back in return
I'd say pump out an emergency Disgaea 6, but I'm not sure if they could even afford it at this point.

Focused on re-release of D1 and D2 on PC rather than focusing on a new sequel.

Why the hell did they use the same formula as other Gacha mobile games? It's obvious they won't be able to compete.
If they made a proper Disgaea SJRPG and monetized it by having Gacha roll characters then it would have done well. I know I would play that game atleast.

Since the release of Labyrinth of Galleria is unlikely at this point, any recommendations for alternatives? Dungeon Crawler with cute girls, slightly eerie atmosphere, interesting monster-sprites?

>Trillion
>Good game
It was a waifu simulator with an absolutely horrible premise. Quite literally one of the cheapest AA produced games out there. I bought it for $11 a couple months after release for new.

Hopefully they take NISA with them.

holy shit, I literally have a friend that just started working there.
hilarious, but I'm a bit worried, it was his lifelong dream

The switch harmed them. Keep in mind this isn't NISA, who sold well on the Switch in America. In Japan, most of their Switch ports and games fell way flat with disgaea 5 being a huge loss and most of their ports selling less than their Vita or PS4 counterparts.

one look at this and good chance they failed cause of all that pedo looking crap.

I loved Strangers of Sword city.

Also D5 only sold well on Switch because there was nothing on it at launch.

Did they ever release the direct sequel to Disgaea 1 on PC?

It was called Disgaea D2 and if they had released it on Steam or GOG, it would have helped definitely.

NISA is a company with NIS Japan as the 100% stockholder just in case people get the two mixed up. NISA and their anime/game licenses are an asset to be sold, not the company itself.

I doubt that, they're pretty much split off from the main branch right now.

I bought Disgaea 5 for $20 years ago is it worth playing? I still never got around to trying it out

I bought it for full price years ago and I think it was worth playing

Eh, if you've played one Disgaea game, you've played them all. 5 has the best gameplay though, so that's a consideration.

They kept wasting money on constant new shovelware and never even bothered to advertise and market for the majority of them, what did they think would happen?

Etrian Odyssey, Demon Gaze and Stranger in Sword City though I haven't really played the last two you can also make girls (male) and vice versa in SotS
Mary Skelter doesn't have sprites but the nightmare designs certainly fit the bill

>nonononono games sell well every week because there's NO GAME OK OBEY OR ELSE
a future school shooter has spoken. Remember him when he kills a few people on tv really soon

It was released on Steam but it was pretty underwhelming especially after the disastrous release of D1. After that they focused on D5 for Switch and then PC.

>were so incompetent at programming that they tried to brag about the PS3 and Vita being unable to handle Disgaea
>shuffled all their experienced employees around, then tried to rehire those same devs with the pay and benefits of entry level
>abandoned their core right after Disgaea 5 so they can produce shovelware and chase after the mobile craze

yeah and after said staff left NIS made labyrinth of refrain and disgaea 5, the only legitimately decent stuff they've managed to produce in almost an entire fucking decade
makes me think that ""talent"" was literally just pulling the company down

>they tried to brag about the PS3 and Vita being unable to handle Disgaea
Wait what the fuck

>Trillion
>good

I played that shit and it's another one of stupid RNG game. See this piece of shit? She's almost completely unkillable by the time you get to the 4th chapter because she keeps one-hitting you with normal attack or skills.

I'd day the only thing that came out decent from Compile Hearts was Mary Skelter.

Trillion's combat is shit but unless you're a brainlet you can easily get through it
>Mary Skelter
Now THAT'S an unredeemable piece of shit though

More like your taste is unredeemable piece of shit. Mary Skelter is decent and fun, I am happy that they will port Mary Skelter 2 to Switch and hopefully Mary Skelter 3 will be on the works.

people really REALLY do not like fanservice, otaku alone cannot keep a company alive anymore now that dev costs have risen so much.

Keep seething, CHfag

>decent
>literally broken combat
>incredibly shit dungeon designs with no reason or rhyme
>shit girls
>as a VN trillion is better
lmao
maybe play a real DRPG someday
dilate

Labyrinth of Refrain is why I still have hope for them. D5 has the worst main story and cast but it also has the best literally everything else and it's a playground for all the mechanics the series built over the years.

In their case, their app bombed hard because they released it as a buggy mess and then had to go into maintenance for like a month or more. When the servers went back up, I believe they had to reset everyone's progress. Anyway, there was a whole lot of shit that went wrong, but these are the biggest problems.

>we the people vs that one guy that is pol and all the nazis and also the weebs and gamergame
you are mentally sick.

We're never getting the rest of the Disgaea games on Steam are we?

Why would you want them anyway?
>5 had to have everyone online outright REMOVED because they 'couldn't figure out how to make anything work'
>The state 1's still fucking in towards this day and it being an ugly child between the DS and PSP versions.
>The rest of them being buggy messes and there's only so many fans can to do fix them up for most multicore's.
Emulating them is a more sane option at this rate.

had to have everyone online outright REMOVED because they 'couldn't figure out how to make anything work'
That's what made me drop the Switch port honestly. It wasn't fun to have all of that taken away

But the switch version has the online options

Yes but they don't actually work. You can't find anyone, everything you send out just gets sent into the void. The only thing that works are the stages and even that crashes more often than not

I hope they go bankrupt so more competent companies can get their IPs

IF is the only company that might give a shit about the IPs.
