What's the future of the Fallout franchise Where can Bethesda take the IP given the state the franchise is in, their reluctance to license the IP and inability to get their act together in any aspect of game development
I reckon a Fallout 1 'remaster' as a traditional Bethesda game. Could be good, who knows?
Kayden Stewart
>1 and 2 are older than most of Yea Forums I played them on fucking release, isn't that depressing.
Not sure how Bethesda copes with games outright failing. You can probably just expect more in the line of phone games, and they'll probably continue to push 76 with patches and updates for at least another year, albeit with an even more gutted skeleton team than the one it was made with.
I forsee nothing interesting happening with the series from here on out. You can just move on. Be disappointed by Wasteland instead.
Connor Hall
>continue to push 76 Who even plays 76 any more? I never bought it in the first place because MMOs are shit at the best of times but now that it's been outed as an all-around atrocious game, surely even the Fallout label isn't enough to make people keep playing this long after release? Anyway I'll start caring about Fallout again when they start caring about making a decent, immersive experience again. Anything similar to 1, 2, or NV will do, those are the only good games in the series anyway.
Justin Fisher
It could but there's so little necessary to be done to remaster it so Bethesda would probably fuck it up by adding shit in >fix UI, graphics bugs on modern system >expand video and graphics setting
yeah but who is even going to buy F76 now or are they relying on micro transactions wasteland 2 was complete shit
Alexander Gray
Forget that Fallout exists. I had hopes for Wasteland 2 but that turned out to be underwhelming. I know Wasteland 3 has been development for a while but I haven't been paying any attention to it.
>Who even plays 76 any more? Nobody I know, but Bethesda still lets you download Elders Scrolls Arena off their site so they don't strike me as the sorts to immediately give up on things. But I don't really know.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they cease support tomorrow or 3 years from now. And wouldn't care either way, it's a bad game.
Josiah Robinson
I really liked the atmosphere in the first 2 games, having that from a FP/TP view would be nice.
Also fighting Frank Horrigan again.
Dominic Diaz
>FP/TP
If bethesda does it, it will surely be another rough and clunky CC implementation modders could do better themselves if they had the time, organisation and freedom
Charles Gray
That's true. It would be nice if Bethesda made a new engine, not a mod of an older engine which is probably a mod of another engine. Might fix some of their shit.
Julian Miller
fallout 1 and 2 deserve remasters. I would love for them to add mouse camera scrolling and a wider inventory screen
William Miller
*I meant camera scrolling with arrow keys or WASD, but click and drag would also be nice
Aiden Gonzalez
>God tier >F1 >F2 tier lower Hey you, I like you
Joseph Adams
so who should remaster 1 and 2 are there any additions/changes that should happen
Daniel Evans
>Where can Bethesda take the IP Deeper into the fucking hole. Just stop looking at it like it's Fallout. It's been dead for years. As long as they don't somehow desecrate Fallout 1 and 2 by, say, remaking them, I'm fine watching their "Fallout" burn.
Sebastian Turner
As long as Emil Pagliarulo is employed, there will never be a good Fallout game again.
Hunter Gonzalez
For a true remaster of 1&2, would sticking with sprites or going with 3D models be better? I feel like with models you could have a zoom-in feature to see things up close.
I would prefer zoom in like the baldur's gates remasters, you can even turn on cel shading if you want. remaking the game in 3d seems like quite the effort for just a remaster
James Phillips
HD sprites, same as the StarCraft remake, and I would be a happy camper. That game was a remaster done right.
Eli Wright
sprites models lose to much soul to be worth what you can see by zooming in, which few people do and fewer would appreciate
Kayden Lee
They’ll just make Fallout 5 and people will buy it in droves like the last two Fallout games. Who cares if the game is buggy and all around shit as long as it sells millions of copies? Didn’t 76 sell millions of copies despite being terrible?
Brandon Long
Stop hurting me with reality M-maybe they can make a good game
Brandon Baker
Maybe, but the trust has been eroded
Connor Parker
>What's the future of the Fallout franchise being casualized into oblivion (pun intended) just as it is true for the industry as a whole.
