Pass.

They had 3 years for BO4 and that shit is just a copy paste of BO3. Can't wait to see this mess.

Black Ops 5 campaign developed by Sledgehammer and Raven using the remains of their Vietnam game sounds like an interesting proposition. Go back to what made Black Ops and Black Ops 2 incredible. Moar Reznov. Moar conspiracies. Moar David S. Goyer dialogue.

ho boy, can't wait to play more of my favorite shoot-bang game

>They had 3 years for BO4 and that shit is just a copy paste of BO3.
Black Ops 4 was a deeply troubled production. As was Black Ops 3.

ITS CALL OF DOODY 17 GUISE THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH DIFFERENT THAN THE PREVIOUS 16 CALL OF DOODYS OMG GUISE GOTTA PREORDER THE LEGENDARY DAY ONE LOOTBOX EDITION ITS ONLY 300$ FOR 20 WEEKS OF FREE LOOTBOXES OMG :OOOOO

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHH WHY CAN'T THEY JUST MAKE A NEW MODERN SHOOTER WITH ACTUAL GUNS

You mean like Modern Warfare 4 which is releasing this year? Also Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered?

There's the rumoured MW4 this year but don't expect anything good from nu-CoD

Retard? Also new retard 2 remastered?

>tfw black ops will have more numerical sequels than call of duty

Attached: bobbykotick-478x352.jpg (478x352, 33K)

Well at least that means MW4 will have an extra year of a higher playerbase.

>Black Ops 5
Just stop with this fucking series, it's been dogshit since after BO2

Attached: 1514168868197.gif (200x200, 2.94M)

Treyarch won't be making this one (they're doing the MP, which nobody cares about), so maybe it'll turn out better.

>CoD still exists
Like what the actual fuck can they still have to make? I can't believe retards still buy into this shit.

Black Ops 3 sucked and they fell for the "no one plays CoD campaign" meme with Black Ops 4. Unless it looks REALLY good, it's definitely a pass from me. They should just remaster BO1 and BO2

What could they do? The WaW - Black Ops 2 trilogy was perfect. They need to go back to the theme of black ops secret war type stuff in the cold war to make it work

Their multiplayer's have been dogshit since and it started with BO2 because of that sniping cancer that ruined it. I still remember when people threw pathetic deaththreats over that 1 sniper nerf

I haven't played a Call of Duty in almost a decade. How are people still buying this shit?

>kotaku
>people who post here actually go to kotaku and repost their articles as soon as they come out
FUCK
OFF

>Black Ops 3 sucked
I've heard rumours the game was rebooted midway through development. Original plot was this extremely strange "humans get their mind chips blown, and they regress to a medieval society" affair.
>and they fell for the "no one plays CoD campaign" meme with Black Ops 4.
BO4's campaign was scrapped in 2017 because it was shit. Bits and pieces were reused for the specialist missions.

>kotaku
>COD

Attached: 5e0a672.jpg (1000x562, 127K)

>deeply troubled production
Nigga they had 8 months to develop CoD3 and I consider it a better game than both BO3 and 4.

I don't think you appreciate the increase in complexity and production values between CoD3 and later games. There's a reason they shifted to 3 year development cycles.

>There's a reason they shifted to 3 year development cycles.
Doesn't seem to work though, considering they had to scrap entire campaign last year.

God I can pray for something good from CoD since Battlefield became a micro transaction hellhole.

>No single player campaign
>No multiplayer
>No battle royal
>Just you looking at the screen is all there is

Pretty sure CoD had entire new weapons locked behind microtransactions long before BF.

Treyarch fucked up. It's as simple as that.

Black ops IIIII baby

Black Ops IIII is valid. Black Ops IIIII is not. You go straight to V.

>5
There was a 4?

>getting excited about cowadoody
Posting a direct link should be a bannable offence. Use pastebin or something you fucking idiot

>Black Ops 3 sucks
Maybe it's because I was high for the entirety of it, but I thought muh Frozen Forest campaign was decent. Not as good as 1 or 2, but still decent.

Black Ops 3 has a number of really neat ideas, but they're horribly executed overall. It screams "rushed". I loved some of the imagery such as the crows, the broken mirror, the frozen forest, etc. Seriously, that scene where you touch the mirror is pretty kino.

>Maybe it wasn't you that said it - You that did it. Maybe it was someone else - their thoughts bleeding through into your brain.

they have to pay licensing fees and whatnot if they will use real world weapons

3arc BO? Get ready for OP lootbox weapons -.-
If only they remastered waw...

It's tally marks not roman numbers

The series is definitely the best CoD has to offer in terms of story. I probably would have bought Black Ops 4 on sale just for the B grade action movie campaign. Wish they did all multiplayer for that stupid fucking WW2 game.

Does it have a campaign? They're always short, sweet and worth a pirate

The most disappointing thing about getting additional development time is that people expect more details and such.
WW2 segment teased in BO3 trailer? Well fuck you, the Germans in that part are using OC donut steal AKS-74u, instead of STG or MP40, they could reuse with slight improvements from other games like they did with Reznov part in BO1. Or 80s missions in BO2 using improved BO1 assets.

Is there no Call of Duty this year?

How does COD esports work when they release a new game every year?

What if they create an Open World Singleplayer COD?

>Is there no Call of Duty this year?
Infinity Ward are making Modern Warfare 4, and someone else, possibly Beenox, are making Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.

It doesn't and shouldn't considering the casual nature of the game.

I hope I can buy only the multiplayer. Zombies is fucking trash and battle royale is a snooze fest. Black Ops 4's multiplayer was actually super fun to play.

Attached: 1551972201334.png (1000x920, 649K)

Very difficult for Call of Duty to distinguish itself against the likes of Far Cry. Open world games don't really gel with the strong narrative focus of CoD campaigns.

Don't have to distinguish itself as long as it is not sold in the same month.

>Are we ready, bros?

because black ops is the best selling line of CoD games. Has been since MW3 tanked. 4 had issues with blackout and people not wanting to play the main game or even zombies really, so a new title without some shitty tacked on battle royale will probably see a better dispersion of players between modes again. I wouldn't mind a campaign either, I really do enjoy them for the fun action movie style nonsense that they are.

Right but what does that matter to me? They didn't have single player which is all I want from it so its trash

They make a gazillion pounds give FN whatever they want to get the SCAR in the game

I'll care about call of duty the day they stop splitting the community with paid maps packs

People still desire CoD singleplayer campaigns? I thought CoD would be moving away from those in general after Black Ops IIII

Attached: CallofDutyTier.png (1120x845, 745K)

>MW2
>low tier
Yikes!

Advanced Warfare is absolutely exceptional. Ghosts has some top notch set pieces and the opening sequence in space where Mosley and Baker bravely scuttle the ODIN satellite is pure kino. So pure and kino that Infinite Warfare did a retread that was almost shot-for-shot in places, but it didn't make me cry the way Ghosts did.

Do BO4 has a single player campaign? Or is full multiplayer?

Go back to Siege, tranny.

>IIIII

>retread that was almost shot-for-shot in places
Yeah, that ain't new for CoD...
youtube.com/watch?v=ezuDHfDhrP0

Black Ops 4 was the worst shit and the only thing holding me to the CoD series was hope that Sledgehammer wouldn't fuck up, but now that I know Treyarch is taking over I can finally quit this trainwreck of a series.

God tier is accurate

First game without campaign
I only buy CoD games for the campaign, BO4 is the first one I haven't bought because they removed it

>BO4 sold worse than WAW
>we should make BO5

Attached: 321374.png (1000x1193, 170K)

Sledgehammer isn't making the next CoD, Activision made Raven the main dev and set Sledge on DLC support mode. Raven's making a cold war/vietnam game and it'll be releasing in 2021 instead of 2020

Ghosts reused some minor animations in a game that was essentially Modern Warfare: Greatest Hits. Suppose you have two year deadline to create an entire FPS campaign. You want a scene where your friends grab you and help drag you to safety. It turns out you have some similar animations from back when you made Modern Warfare 2. So you slow them down, and put them in. That's how game development works. FromSoft games reuse animations rampantly. For some reason, adding hundreds of new animations, new environments, and all-new cast of characters, and so on doesn't matter if you reuse a few animations in some cutscenes.

The opening scene of Ghosts was very emotional. It worked. So Infinite Warfare borrows from it. There's an explosion, you get sucked into space, you bounce off debris in a very similar way, and then you die in space. But you die a hero.

This is all wrong. Sledgehammer and Raven were making a Vietnam game scheduled for 2020. That game is being retooled into a Black Ops title. The multiplayer is being developed by Treyarch. The singleplayer is being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven.

VGChartz pulls numbers out of their ass.

this. I was actually excited for BO4 but goddamn it was just BO3 with battle royal mode I don't care about. suport disappointing

Ah, that's my bad. I read here last night that the vietnam game was just being pushed back. Why the fuck would they cancel that to make BO5? That just pisses me off, they already scuppered AW2 for WWII

Attached: 1556981621296.jpg (197x255, 7K)

so it finally happened? the crunch run off every experienced dev and they're stuck with a bunch off newbies and yes man? is this the end for CoD? what's gonna replace it? does Acti even have any big money franchises left outside of Blizzard's stuff?

They're likely use as much of the Vietnam game as they can for Black Ops 5. The original Black Ops had a number of (excellent) missions in Vietnam. I wouldn't be surprised if they have you meeting Alex Mason, the whole bit. You gotta remember that assuming this change in direction is recent, they basically have 2 years, or slightly less, to make this game. Making an SP campaign in three years requires strong direction and good organization. Making one in two is going to be a pinch. They'll have to reuse as much of their existing work as they reasonably can.

Hey, remember when Infinity Ward, led by the lead developer of The Last of Us, created a beautiful Wing Commander homage that took the Call of Duty series in a bold new direction and beat Squadron 42 to the market by half a decade? Remember how the shitstain Call of Duty fanbase downvoted the lovely trailer for that game until it was the most downvoted game trailer in history?

>remaster WaW
It's my favourite CoD but I don't want remastered at this point honestly since it will be filled with lootboxes and swastikas removed from the game.

I mean advanced warfare was so good they literally based their knockoff jetpacks in every game since off of it. It was the most vertical, the most fast paced, the most skill-rewarding versus vamping, and snipers were fucking garbage as they should be.

Democracy? Democracy. Democracy is not what these people need, hell, it's not even what they want. America has been trying to install democracies in nations for a century and it hasn't worked one time. These countries don't have the most basic building blocks to support a democracy. Little things like, "We ought to be tolerant of those that disagree with us." "We ought to be tolerant of those who worship a different god than us!" That, "A journalist ought to be able to disagree with the president!" And you think you can just march into these countries - based on some fundamentalist, religious principles - drop a few bombs, topple a dictator and start a democracy? Huh. Give me a break. People don't want freedom. They want boundaries and rules… Protection… From invaders, and from themselves. People need a leader who can give them both the support and constraints to keep chaos at bay. You give them that, and they'll follow.

He was honestly the good guy in the story

Attached: 1513301653605.jpg (260x194, 10K)

I only care about zombies and since they are apparently going to end the original universe in BO4 and replace it with the godawful new one i'll definitely pass.

Pretty funny bf fades away like a bad fart and cod still hasn't got the message

FETCH ME THEIR SOULS

It baffles me that CoD, a series known for targeting 60 fps on consoles has the worst PC ports out of like every console shooters this gen.

Is it bad that I actually liked Advanced Warfare highly?

What do you mean? Most Call of Duty PC ports are excellent. Unless you're talking about multiplayer. In which case they're a dumpster fire. Good example is MW Remastered. Singleplayer PC port is absolutely fantastic with the only niggle being no FOV slider. The multiplayer on the other hand is a complete trash heap.

Call of Duty games unfortunately tend to have their reputation heavily affected by their multiplayer to the exclusion of everything else.

Treyarch fucking sucks balls
they make the worst cod games since BO2.
Shitty microtransactions, paid skins paid weapons and p2w. Just fuck off.
The only thing i'm excited about it that IW/Raven will probably make more games.

You realise that isn't Treyarchs doing? It's Activision who enforce al the little shite

It's the only console shooter game series this gen that stutters like absolute shit on my 6 years old toasters. And you also need to build cache for MWR to minimise the stutters. There's a reason CoD is dead on PC. It's not fun to play with all the technical issues, unless you have a $1000 build released the same year as new CoD game.

Yeah no.
Every black ops game has:
-boring three lane maps
-that OP smg that everyone uses
-annoying as fuck killstreaks like raps or drone swarm that cannot be avoided at all
-OP flamethrowers or wallhacks or some other specialist shit
-ONLY in treyarch games the supply drops suck

for example in Modern Warfare Remastered supply drops worked fine and i don't find them cancerous, in fact imo MWR is better than original in some ways.
Same with infinite warfare and ww2.

Zombies hasn't been decent since BO2

>cawadoody
>kotaku link
Get the fuck out, you flaming faggot.

Black ops 1 was the best and most kino cod game

Attached: maxresdefault (1).jpg (1280x720, 67K)

infinite warfare is the only interesting one, I enjoyed CoD game for the first time since medal of honor allied assault

true, but the campaign balancing was fucked. I died a lot more in BO1 and BO2's campaigns on veteran than i did in WAW, even though my memories from a decade ago told me otherwise, grenade spam considered.

>minigan mission
oh god
hated that one

>direct linking to kotaku

Fuxk off retard

>cod 1 sold less than 1 million copies
The fuck ? Wasn't it at least 2 millions ?

If this list is from a campaign standpoint I almost agree
>WaW and IW not top tier
>Swap BO2 and BO1
>Move MW2 up a tier
>Move COD4 down a tier
>Maybe move WWII up a tier, I'm mixed on that one

Pretty sure that's just an urban legend.

Of course Blops 4 sells like shit when it has no single player and is filled with fake made-up guns that nobody likes.

>People still desire CoD singleplayer campaigns?
Yes, they're are unironically the best part of COD due to how over the top and bonkers the story gets. I hate that recent CODs have been recently moving away from that due to wanting be more deep and cinematic as well multiplayer pushing it out.

have you even played a CoD game?

so then it would be IIII with a diagonal strike through it

CoD campaigns are wasted in that franchise.
I legit like the campaigns in CoD games. They often have amazing set pieces and fun and fuck gimmicks to explore.
But the majority of CoD players only care about the online so that great portion of the game just goes done the drain.

>But the majority of CoD players only care about the online so that great portion of the game just goes done the drain.
The problem is that making SP-only games is financially problematic so they're forced to pair them with MP. But MP audiences always take over game fanbases. Particularly FPS game fanbases. What's the point of branching these games off into a new series if something like Titanfall suffered the same fate after a SINGLE GAME. The only reason people don't think Wolfenstein is "MP focused" or whatever bullshit term they use is because the last three games didn't have MP. The new game has co-op. It's only a matter of time before people run around asking, "Why would anyone buy a Wolfenstein game for the SP?"

swastikas I honestly don't care if they remove, but lootboxes yea...better leave it as it is...I just wanted a waw with prestige master

who cares

Attached: D6paIVfUYAA0Lro.jpg (899x1200, 129K)

cool if true

it's not bad, everyone has their own cod tier list
