In battle brothers crossbow is great for punching through armor, but bow is where its at for sustained damage and distance.
Theres also something to be said for the absolute sexual blast of pleasure to blow a hole in some raider scum that jumps into encounter range on your just-loaded xbow since regular bow fags cant do shit but dig in their pockets for a knife when enemy comes into melee range.
