With NISA unable to pay their current Japanese staff, and Marvelous literally cancelling/delaying their current projects due to Sony coming down on them. Where do you see NISA and XSeeD, ten years from now?

OP es puto.

Xseed has a backup plan
Nisa doesn't.

NIS America is a subsidiary of NIS, so NIS control is handled by being a 100% shareholder. In the event they go bankrupt, plenty of investment places would be interested in the company, even if to just get the rights to Love Live!

I'll be shocked if both still exist 3 years from now.
NIS is on the edge of having all of its staff walking out on the studio and if the Japanese branch goes under, so does the American. And from what I remember reading XSEED has been bleeding talent for a while now.

XSEED have a few series to fall back on, they should be fine. NISA... well, even if NISJ dies, NISA won't.

I think EOPs are subhuman.

>XSEED has been bleeding talent for a while now.
Marvelous lost the Senran creator, but even months before then, something was up because their lead translator (Tom) left and their unofficial mascot (Hatsuu) was fired.

>Marvelous literally cancelling/delaying their current projects
Besides Senran Kagura, what has been cancelled or delayed that was previously announced?

>unofficial mascot (Hatsuu) was fired

What for?

theres shit tons of jap games that still aren't translated

they will be fine

Didn't Rune Factory 4 sell like hotcakes? Marvelous and XSEED should be fine, Rune Factory 4S and 5 should make bank.

Nobody knows. She said her leaving the company was a "surprise" to her and "sudden", meaning she didn't have much say in the matter, but she never stated why.

Hatsuu did become the face of their "we don't want to do weebshit anymore" front, maybe it was the unintentional bad PR that surrounded her.

was she fired? impression I got was she bailed ASAP when grapevine got to her that Xseed wasn't doing TOCS3 and almost assuredly NISA was

She was fired, reason ain't public but it doesn't look great for XSEED from what I've heard. For her privacy I won't say anymore.

I just wish they'd port RF4 to PC. I don't really like playing on handhelds or consoles anymore.

So it was for being an annoying tranny on Twitter?

There hasn't been anything cancelled or delayed. People are taking the Senran Kagura creator leaving Marvelous to make a different boobie game published by Marvelous out of proportion. He's still the head of Honey Parade games, which is the subsidiary setup to make Senran Kagura games.

>Sony coming down on them
That's going to be Sony's problem pretty soon more than theirs. It's clean slate at the start of every generation. If Sony pisses off enough people at the start of the PS5's cycle they'll be the ones playing catch up when everyone else decides to let games come to their platform uncensored.

All people need to do is ask Sony if they're going to keep their censorship bullshit when the PS5 comes out and if they start with their double talk and trying to avoid answering directly they'll start to see a backlash. Right now they're on top so they think they're untouchable, just like they were back after the PS2's lifecycle, but they got cocky and ended up having answer for it to the very end.

>NISA
I wish it was NISA that is dying, but unfortunately it's NIS, you retard.

Yeah, I know all about that, but even before Takaki left Marvelous there were still a lot of news about how the latest Senran Kagura has been through a lot of changes, mainly because of the sexual stuff, all without any actual positive news on its development.
It might not have been cancelled yet but it sure as hell has been delayed a lot from its original expected release.

NISA isn't a partner, they are a literal subsidiary of NIS. If NIS can't afford to pay their Japanese division, then they sure as hell can't fund their American branch.

I was actually wondering this myself. Is NIS the parent and NISA the subsidiary? Can NISA exist on its own if NIS dies? I thought NISA was more successful financially than NIS anyway

Didn't they mention an unannounced Sony game they had also had to be severely edited before even announcing the game? The game still isn't even announced yet, it was probably for E3.

The censorship thing won’t hit Sony much sadly. Their primary audience doesn’t care or looks down on these kinds of games.

Sony’s real battle is playing nice with crossplay.

At this point Persona is the only weeb game even worth playing on the Playstation, Sony is outright just Japanese Microsoft.

NISA is profitable due to their distribution deals with several different companies. They handle limited edition versions of games, which gives them more pocket change then they get from NIS, but if anything happens to NIS, they will receive pinkslips regardless of income.

She certainly ain't trans, not that it fucking matters you fucking miscreant.

Sorry, Discord tranny, but you people tend to go crazy to Twitter and that reflects poorly on companies.

She did complain a lot about Senran and it's fanbase which looked bad on the company.

She was also fired by Nisa. Chortle.

NIS is the one in trouble
NISA is now in bed with both FALCOM and Koei Tecmo so they'll be fine for now.

I really don't know what the fuck was up with that. She announced that she was working with NISA on ToCS3, then a few days later, she said she left the project.

Wait she actually got fired from NISA too? What is she doing now? being a thot on social media or something?

Seriously?

She wasn't fired, but she's currently ill with a fairly serious illness and she had to slow down her work.

As a result she had to move out of California and she's basically out of the industry altogether.

Maybe she was clashing with NISA's retarded localisation team.
>this kanji for the Japanese game is "big hole", how can we localise it as? Fissure? Crevice? Cleft? Rift? Breach?
>BIG
>HOLE

Attached: Localisation.jpg (664x315, 74K)

I don't know if it is true but some user complained to Nisa about her.

>With NISA unable to pay their current Japanese staff
nigger, you are retarded
fucking idiots can't separate NIS and NISA

XSeed can shove their dubs and lack of Japanese audio up their ass.
Why in the world does Yea Forums suck their dick so much?

And no NISA and their abysmal programming skills aren't really any good either, but fuck, Yea Forums often talks about XSeed as if they were fucking flawless.
Does all of XSeed's employees browse Yea Forums and shill for free or something?

What's more. NISA, in spite of having America in the name, are a lot better when it comes to European releases. XSeed fucking blows when it comes to that.

In a weird turn of events, I wouldn't be shocked if NISA somehow outlived NIS. Though in this event they'd probably change their name.

>Does all of XSeed's employees browse Yea Forums and shill for free or something?
Unironically they used to

Think Toys R' Us. The store was profitable, but the investors that bought it were in debt. When they declared bankruptcy, Toys R' Us was forced to go under.

NIS will sell NISA like how Index corporation sold Atlus to Sega.

>weebs prefer non-censored and relatively tame localizations over meme localizations that cut content
Fucking NISA removed the postgame from Rhapsody because they didn't feel like localizing it, and sold the game at full price.

>Didn't they mention an unannounced Sony game they had also had to be severely edited before even announcing the game?
They did, at their latest investors meeting. And they've already lowered their sales expectations because of it.
The investors must be mad as hell.

who do you think would buy em

oh no no no no no

>it actually worked
Holy shit

Jesus christ, this NISA/XSEED war has gone a little too far.

Funimation. No joke. They have some pretty big anime IPs

Nisa could probably exist with a different name, for example would kadokawa be interested in getting them?rhey have a few original games with pqube being the publisher, though Nisa did God wars I think?

Xseed is basically marvelous USA so they aren't really in a bad position anyway.

>Support Prinny 18

This made me laugh harder than it should

>Funimation
>being sued right now by the legendary super saiyan because they accused him of raping 100 women
Fucking kek, they still have yet to produce 1 victim in court yet, and they promised that they had 100 rape victims. And it turns out the first "rape victim's" "rape" was him making a silly sex joke in front of her.

>no "dood" at the end
It's gotta a fake Prinny, dood! Either that or they've brainwashed all of them to being mindless receptionists!

>snoy ending owning them in the end
would be doom kino

>Funi
They might not even exist in a while, they tried pulling Californian #metoo shit in Texas and got BTFOd because liberal vigilante attacks might be legal in California but not Texas.

Who is handling AI Sommnem Files?

Spike Chunsoft. They are another matter entirely. Spike Chunsoft used to be represented by NISA, but now are doing their own American publishing. Yet, they are pretty clueless/greedy, and are charging full retail prices for laughably niche games.

Oh I see. Makes me wonder what that new studio by the former Dangan/ZE devs are going to do.

>ten years from now
Killed off by EA

Attached: NIS next.png (400x800, 76K)

In the garabge dumb where they belong. These trash comapnies going under wont be bad for the industry at all. Doing the same shit over and over on daily bases is getting out of hand. Japan needs to ge revitalised and stop being lazy, we need to drop another nuke.

Everyone seem to have their faults. SCs first few localizations seem to have missed some mark inside the fandom, hope they improve.

Personally I like pqubes approach but even they have so many spelling errors in their texts that they seem extremely hurried always. Is atlus the best localization company right now? Too bad they have too kuch work with atlus and Sega, no real room for third party niche games

Dude seriously, not everyone you see or meet is a tranny. Why is Yea Forums so paranoid?

Senran Kagura Seven has been indefinitely delayed. It would probably be vaporware but it's clear they have to come up with something due to a contract with Sony. I assume they're going to either give Sony some kind of turd that barely passes quality control, or they're going to make the game obnoxiously edgy and gory to push other boundaries and show off Sony's double standards out of spite.

>Funimation
>No joke
You seriously think many of the anime license holders are happy with those people running their mouths, outright committing business crimes. They're more than likely going to die far sooner than you'd think. God help them if Toei pull licenses, that'd be a guillotine to their neck.

Hey, I would love a Grimdark Kagura.

Attached: senrankagura2-01.jpg (520x303, 58K)

Bandai or Sega will pick up NISA if NIS ever goes down, cap this

Isn't Funi also funneling their anime profits to make fake-Western anime about feminism on top of shit talking their own partners and the anime they air? I want to see how many stand by Funi once Broly's lawsuit is done with.

It would have been very possible to have both grimdark and ero though. It's a quite common combination actually.

Imagine one of the girls getting a major injury and having the scar stay and mature over the course of the game. Hot damn, that sounds great.

Honestly I think if they did something like that it would become a surprise hit, unfortunately it would get praise from all the worst people on the western side of things.

Funimation has two lawsuits going on, one from the Broly VA and another from a company that owns the patent to the mobile streaming software they use. I hope they die because their subs are fucking atrocious, even CR is better.

>People whine about localization
>They do a direct translation
>WTF NISA, WHERE'S THE LOCALIZATION?
They can't win.

No, that's Crunchyroll who have their own can of worms rotting and festering.
Both talk shit about the anime they air though. Also, to be perfectly honest. If now isn't bad enough god help the western industry in general if there's a guilty verdict on Funimation. Sure Sony won't be happy but the license holders more than likely won't want to work with people who commit those kinds of crimes anymore.
It also doesn't help Funi removed content that was meant to be on the DVD release. Toei sure as fuck won't be happy and I don't think I need to point out how bad an idea it is to piss off the biggest ip holder in the industry.
If the other companies don't buckle down and don't stop acting superior then they're probably going to start losing a lot of licenses.

>Senran Kagura returns to its 3DS roots, ignores all the PS game plot lines and shit cans or sidelines all the newer characters so it's Just Asuka and Homura again.
YES PLEASE

>Dubfags and their enablers

It's about finding a happy medium between using google translate output for a script and resisting the urge to replace the whole thing with ebin reddit memes from 5 years ago. It's not hard to understand but this is NISA we're talking about.

>It also doesn't help Funi removed content that was meant to be on the DVD release. Toei sure as fuck won't be happy
What?

I really don't understand why these social justice-minded weirdo zealots get into Japanese game localization. You see it even among eroge localizers.

This. Even when I was one, I couldn't give a single fuck about localisation parasites.

These days? I hope they get firebombed for crimes against humanity.

The point is to piss off Sony, not their whole fanbase.

user, there is a nice balance between "hai hai Sara-chan, eat your osushi, itadakimasu" and "rub a dub dub thanks for the grub, I love hamburgers"

The sooner NISA dies the better.

>That last sentence

How does that even happen

NISA is connected to NIS and NIS Europe, they'll be fine. Xseed/Marvelous goes out of business and there are other parties such as Spike Chunsoft, Ghostlight, and maybe Atlus/Sega that can take over.

>ironic weeb too mad that his japanese game is too japanese

the only good dubkek is a dead dubkek

Dunno. Maybe it's their burning desire to right the world.

If only they tried stopping Muslims from raping children instead.

>that can take over
user, localization isn't exactly a monopoly. They are free to release as many games as they want now.

Their fanbase is why why the series is stagnating, aren't the Japs finally getting sick of Yume?

No, Yumi is as popular as ever.

Agents in the culture war.

I've heard from a few anons that this happens when someone goes to college to learn Japanese to work as a professional translator, like someone that would do legal/corporate translation work.
The thing is you have to have top-tier proficiency and these are the people that couldn't get that far, so they have to settle for shitty low pay translation jobs in western game and anime publishers. They hate the work and they were never interested in otaku culture shit.
These people wanted a high-paying job where they get to travel to exotic places, but now they have student loans to pay and have to settle for translating stuff they think is corny and childish.
So you have bitter assholes grinding out a shitty job they hate, and they put on a front with virtue signaling to make it look like they're fighting for "positive change" instead of being sore losers in life. Look up Funimation employee reviews on Glassdoor, it's the definition of a "toxic" workplace full of drama.

Removed a behind the scenes extra on the dvd release. There's some unconfirmed rumors that Toei hand picked the guy to voice Broly.
Think about this
>Toei hand pick this guy because of his decades of experience and good reputation
>Funi screw him over and remove him
Who holds more clout in this argument if the rumor is proven true?
Even then, if the rumor is false, removing content from the DVD because they wrongfully terminated the guy is going to come and bite them on the ass since he's losing credit for his work. If Funi then get marked guilty, well, Toei still won't be happy since someone just damaged their and Dragon Ball's reputation. These people are, whether they like it or not, representatives of the anime they have licensed and those that own the IP. Pissing them off is a good way to lose license.

Wait, Hatsuu is no longer working on Sen 3?

I guess they should have studied better. Makes me wonder what American companies ask for as a proof of proficiency.

She left NISA the same week she said she was working with them.

Attached: Slowpoke.gif (499x374, 765K)

Localization is important. What most of Yea Forums points out as localization is shit though.

For example:
The main character has a date and asks a friend for advice. He says "Hana yori dango" which is an expression basically about how it's better to give some sweets as a gift instead of flowers.

Direct translation:
Give her some pastries instead of flowers.
Localization:
The way to the heart is through the stomach.

The audience of the translation gets the meaning but loses something in that they don't realize he is saying a classic expression. You can call this like the Polonius problem. As a similar situation look at the play Hamlet. Polonius is considered a fool and an idiot because he says things like, "The clothes make the man."
Now for someone unfamiliar with Shakespearean times English the accusation of him being an idiot for saying the clothes make the man might not make sense. They would think about how appearance is very important in how you are perceived. What they don't know is that Polonius always speaks in cliches and tropes and is considered a fool not for the content of his quotes but because he only parrots expressions without an original though in his head.

Back to the Japanese example, the not localized audience misses out that the friend did not give his own personal advice and just parroted a common expression anyone knows. While the localized audience gets that the friend is not putting any thought into it and giving "Just be yourself" levels of advice.

>muh happy medium
There's no such thing. I don't know why weebs always seem to think they are the perfect representation of the average viewer, and that if localisation companies followed their standards, nobody would have any issues.

Just from a basic salary perspective, you're going to get one decent translation every ten thousand titles. In actuality, the number is even lower, but that's the kind of frequency with which you will find respected writers who happen to match the style of the game's writers, have the translation ability to comprehend the game, AND, most importantly, are willing to accept a paycheck consisting of peanuts that's 10 to 50 times lower than what they could get for a real job.

But hey, let's pretend translators are perfect and will work for free. They're still not going to meet your expectations. You're still going to sperg out when you see/don't see honorifics, when they translate a word you don't think should be translated, or when they replace a pun that becomes pure gibberish in English with one that actually makes sense.

The games themselves stagnated after Estial Versus, each installment selling less and less in Japan. Nips are tired of them making rehashes of Shinovi Versus over and over again, and rightfully so.

Using the correct word with the right connotation when there are multiple synonyms isn't localization, it's fundamental translation.

Requirements:

- Must be Bilingual in Japanese and English
- Ability to work legally in the US
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or any related Communications field preferred.
- Marketing, communications, media, or public relation internship of at least one (1) year is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills in English and Japanese
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the Marketing industry/Video Game Industry.
- Interest and familiarity with video games

Work Location: Torrance, CA

Mmmm, EOPs sutter på forhud.

Seething NISA drone detected. Maybe one day you'll pay off that student loan.

That's all vague bullshit.

>>I guess they should have studied better.
Translation isn't really about studying. I mean, there are professional translators who make mistakes literal 4 year old Japanese kids wouldn't, but generally speaking, they've all got a similar level of proficiency, and none of the tests actually look at what might be important for pop culture works, like an understanding of base language pop culture. If you've never heard of Ultraman a reference to his time limit is going to go over your head, if you've never seen Doraemon you might not know the significance of propeller hats and anywhere doors.

But really, even that isn't the base problem with these retards. It's the fact they can't write. Which means all of the true translation work really falls on the editor, who doesn't know any Japanese and is just trying to turn the gibberish ESL speak into functional English. You can't get better at writing in a translation setting. It's something you have to work on outside of that field.

Sorry dude, I don't care that you know some useless European language, you're EOP all the same.

>impliciranje da ljudi na ovom usranom sajtu uopće znaju Engleski
OP is a Jew.

So what’s gonna happen to NISA’s cold steel 3 dub that was supposed to release in the fall?

If you're talking about who you think I am, he's had rumors swirling about that sort of behavior for the past decade. But did they remove the entire section, or just the part related to him?

Personally I never liked him or Funimation, so if they both crash and burn, I'm the big winner.

That's why translation in video games and anime pays like shit, you only have to pass some vague minimum requirements. It's the kind of job for someone that barely passed their exams and got a degree, someone that actually has skills they can prove is going to get a real job.

Hores ut som du elsker å bli penetrert av eldre menn, soper.

Don't compare ESLOPs to EOPs, at least EOPs have the excuse of blind ignorance. ESLOPs are the most pathetic creatures on Earth.

You're going to take the meme translation and you're going to enjoy it.

BIG HOLE

How did this thread last so long without the webms? You know the ones.

Říkám ti, že kompletně jebu na jakýkoliv další jazyky, který umíš, vole.

Přesně tak, brácho. If you were able to learn English, why not Japanese as well? I managed

So what does this mean for Switch games? NISA decided to openly back Nintendo after the first few games sold like gangbusters for the Switch.

>If you were able to learn English, why not Japanese as well? I managed
And for what purpose would one learn Japanese? To play video games? I speak Norwegian and English fluently, and thus speak Danish and Swedish at a similar level by proxy. There's absolutely no incentive to learn Japanese, weeb.

NIS is going down, but not NISA. Murrican branch is "cut" from Japanese.

Wouldn't Big Hole in Japanese be 大きな穴?While the two kanji together form a unique word that simply means a large hole, like chasm?

Most likely because the previous NIS in trouble thread hit over 400 posts, and it's still a developing news story.

>If you were able to learn English, why not Japanese as well?
I did, though. Why are you posting in gibberish that I'm not even going to dignify with Google Translate? Nobody cares about your native tongue.

You're an ESL who knows Japanese? That's great. I mean, you're still a faggot for posting in your worthless native language, but hey, you're a step above ESLOPs.

EOPs have the basic excuse that they don't know how easy it is to learn a language. They see "2 years" and flip out.

ESLOPs, meanwhile (), know perfectly well how easy it is to learn languages. And yet they remain in their hovels, and actually try and wear their disability as a badge of pride.

To enjoy the vast amounts of untranslated Japanese content.

Jesus, you retard, I'm mostly agreeing with you, but you still feel the need to act like you're better than literally everyone else.

Are you honestly arguing about the difference between "big hole" and "large hole" here, N5-kun?

>Are you honestly arguing about the difference between "big hole" and "large hole" here, N5-kun?
No, I am not in the slightest comparing big and large. Learn to read English.

>native tongue

*sniff sniff* Yuck... smells like incel in here

The whole court case is because new rumors circulated that led to unfair termination. It's a whole shit show of unproved instances or outright jokes. They removed his whole part.
I don't give a shit about dubs, but going out of your way to ruin a man's life with zero evidence isn't something that sits right with me. Either those bastards prove they were right with hard evidence or let the man live. I just want funi to die because they're scum. If the guy's innocent I hope he at least gets compensation and can continue living his life. If not, well, he can pay for it by being kicked from the industry forever. Either way anime in the west is going to go through some changes because of this. Fansubbers may be coming back in a big way depending on what happens.

>but you still feel the need to act like you're better than literally everyone else.
Nah, top tier is Japanese-English bilinguals, growing up in an English speaking country. Next is general bilinguals who pick up Japanese later in life, and then there's me.

I value native fluency of English pretty highly, just because it's such a critical language, and I see the rookie mistakes ESLs make daily. When you acquire fluency of a language later in life, from people who aren't your parents, you lose out on the critical step of having someone correct the small mistakes you make. Even child learners are often left with the vastly inferior functional fluency.

>know perfectly well how easy it is to learn languages
I do, and yet I see no reason to spend time learning a language solely to consume its media. I have other hobbies that take up my time, with fitness being one of them. You're assuming everyone is a hardcore weeb, which is fatal flaw in your argument.

what the fuck

alllaw.com/articles/nolo/civil-litigation/defamation-character-lawsuit-proving-harm.html
>In order to sue for defamation of character, it's not enough that somebody express or publish a defamatory statement. There must also be real damage caused by the statement.
It's interesting that he's suing Funimation, when the actual lawsuit would be the voice actors and industry insiders that helped get him fired.

>fitness
You could've just said you were boring. I mean, this is a weeb site, I don't know why you're so shocked that most people here are weebs, especially in a thread about localisation work.

Not a fan of Japanese media? That's great dude, I'm sure there are plenty of other sites out there you can enjoy. Crazy to think that you've managed to go the past 30 years without enjoying any games from Japan, but hey, western games were pretty good up to the millennium.

She's a freelance editor/localization expert. She was never going to have major role in CS3, but she is still attached to the program, and I think she did the voice direction again. Also, she has a smaller role this time because of health and personal issues. She got TB or some shit, and also moved back to her home state after quitting her job at XSEED.

posts like these are too good for Yea Forums, we don't deserve them here

I still feel bad for Tom.

Don't feel too bad. He could literally go to any other company and succeed, but chose to just flee the country entirely...working as an English teacher in Japan. Where he is guaranteed to be tormented and disrespected.

>There must also be real damage caused by the statement.
Like losing all your work on currently running projects?
On top of that Funimation did make a defamatory statement.
They said after saying they'd cut all ties with the guy, not needed but not bad on its own, they followed up with a tweet saying they don't condone sexual assault or something to that effect. A reasonable person would put two and two together and think the statement is linked to the guy who was fired. So you have, if innocent, wrongful termination AND defamation.
If they just fired him and said nothing they would actually not be in nearly as much trouble.
The other part is cuckboy being an "agent" of Funimation. Even if he isn't, by claiming to have confidential information multiple times and Funi never denying that he is an agent of their company they can get dragged into this.

>something was up because their lead translator (Tom) left and their unofficial mascot (Hatsuu) was fired.
Before that, Nick C one of their lead editors left to work for Nexon America

Pretty funny that XSEED hired the Yakuza dude to work on Senran and Wizardry lmao

The big defining point is if a REASONABLE person would believe cuckboy is an agent. Claiming to have confidential information he absolutely should not have, multiple times, means he is an agent to any sane individual.

He was always an asshole and diva, When he was a guest at a con I worked for, I had to deal with him since I was in the guest department.
Even if this all turned out to be lies, as I said, seeing both Funimation and him burn to the ground would be the best outcome for me.
Fuck'em both.

What's wrong with Marvelous, exactly? Has the Sony censorship thing really gotten bad to the point of putting other companies in trouble?

The real issue here is that the natural expectation for this advice in English is that it's given to a woman, not a dude. This makes the interaction awkward, and for some people, they'd rather have a more literal interpretation without those connotations.

Also, there are far more examples of idioms and sayings that have no decent English equivalent. At those points, what really matters the most is how good the writers on the translation team are, and if they can find something that works. And the major problem is that 99% of the time? They can't. They're SEAmonkeys paid in salt, they lack the understanding of English culture, they probably don't even know the origin of whatever idiom they're trying to translate. This is why weebs have such an adverse reaction to "localisation", because what they usually see is garbage.

I do play some Japanese games, but not once have I clamored for a localization or wanted to learn the language to eliminate the wait. I'm not overly concerned with minor things being lost in translation as long as the overall plot remains intact. I'm also not concerned with censorship. You might say I'm not supremely autistic.

Absolutely seething NISAdrone.
>"only 1% of localisations are good, so NISA is fine"
>even though tons of companies like Aksys and Xseed and PCube can do it fine

You're a con worker, anyone with a brain would've treated you like shit.

They just cut down sales expectations for a new unannounced title.

>it's not enough that somebody express or publish a defamatory statement. There must also be real damage caused by the statement
They literally cost him his job and employment opportunities

Did you really make the same post again because I didn't bite?

I don't give a fuck about localisation companies. I play all my games in the original Japanese, it's just laughable to see weebs convinced that they alone know the perfect recipe to translation work. What's especially funny is seeing you idolise absolutely GARBAGE companies because they're slightly better than the one you don't like. Develop some fucking standards.

They have to go through projects currently in development with a fine-tooth comb and remove overly sexy content, when they revolve around mindless games with sexy content.

It's funny how passionate you are to defend NISA for someone that "doesn't give a fuck".

>stop questioning media, start consuming
You should go to Yea Forums, they love that shit.

I'm the first user that called you a NISA drone, the irony of your post is you already had a rant that openly stated you don't have standards.

Have any nightmare stories that doesn't involve actual names?

But still it must've sucked being pretty much the only person that gave a shit at XSeed.

I still don't know where you're getting NISA from my posts. I actually had to look them up, the only game of theirs I've even played is Prinny and maybe 2 minutes of Disgaea. From what I remember, the translation work was hot garbage, but then so was pretty much everything I played back then.

I've got standards, they're a lot higher than yours. When you quibble about localisation companies, it's like sifting through a septic tank and bragging that the hunk of shit you found is still fresh.

He was reportedly the biggest fucking douche at the office, so no one cares. Even Hatsuu talked mad shit about him.

Well fuck that's a shame

>He was reportedly the biggest fucking douche at the office
Yeah, he was the only one that actually cared about the job.

I'm not telling you or anyone else to do anything, just sharing my point of view. I don't care about things out of my control, and I don't let it affect my enjoyment of a game.

Thanks for proving he's an asshole.

Strangely enough the few times I was put into the meat grinder, I got really pleasant guests who basically just did everything themselves because they knew the motions. The only one that gave me any grief outside of that guy, was Billy West where he likes a specific type of mineral water and he was irritated I didn't have it for him. I ended up going out to get the water he wanted and paying for it out of my own pocket, but when he found out I did that, he paid me back so it all worked out in the end.

>Even Hatsuu talked mad shit about him
Are you going according to that supposed Discord chat? I doubt that was actually her.

Tom was hated by XSeeD because he openly talked about very confidential problems with the company. That makes him a hero.

Are you mentally ill? She isn't trans.

That does not bode well for the localization.

Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven.

This is the darkest fucking timeline.

The discord autists have already scoured the available CS3 material for inconsistencies and so on, and it's all consistent with XSEED's quality. They still have the CS1/2 translators working on the game, and the localized demo will be playable at E3.

I'm glad to hear that. Thanks.

I don't get the concern. XSeeD and NISA are both using the Sony of China "Kai" PS4 versions. It's Chinese to English translations of existing content.

They need to put their shit on Steam and Switch

Yea Forums, once again prove that this is the dumbest board in Yea Forums.
Parent company can collapse while the child companies got spun-off.

That works for semi-independent corporations that have been purchased by a larger company, not literal foreign branches of a collapsing company.

Emulate it. The compability list on the Citra website says it works great.

>NIS America, Inc. is a subsidiary of Nippon Ichi Software, Inc. of Japan, which established its North American operations on December 24, 2003. Based in Santa Ana, California, NIS America, Inc. handles operations including localization, marketing, and publishing of Nippon Ichi titles.
>subsidiary
If some user can read the financial report of NIS, it will be even clearer. Look at their cashflow, D/E ratio, their expenses, and what might cause them to issue a moving-strike warrant instead of just borrow to a bank.

>implying NISA's dying due to NIS' incompetence
Fucking scum's going to live on

>They prosper even more if they aren't forced to waste resources on every shitty NIS indie title
OHNONONO ITS NOT FAIR

>obnoxiously edgy and gory to push other boundaries and show off Sony's double standards out of spite.
>chopping yoma up sending blood and guts everywhere

not gonna lie, I would be into it

Great now I want a Senran Kagura Black

Hatsuu doesn't know Japanese. I dunno why people are talking about her like she's a translator. She even admitted that she hasn't played the Crossbell games either. Only played through CS1 and 2 because she was the lead localizer for them or something. And I don't know if she played Sky. So much for the "Queen of Kiseki".

>Female
>Acknowledged Trails in the Sky exists
Yep, good enough.

She can be queen of my dick.

Attached: hatsuu.webm (544x300, 2.75M)

This. Her being on the CS3 team meant fuck all. She's held to high heavens but hasn't even played the best arc in the series and who knows if she played Sky, yet she still claims she's a queen of the series. She doesn't know Japanese so she played through CS3 without understanding anything and expressed how if she ever worked on it she would change some things in the game because she didn't like it. She also hates weebshit like Senran and wanted to distance herself from it. Hated Tom with a passion and talked shit behind his back just because he's anti-censorship and didn't stand down.

I still can't believe that xseed dude is a basic bitch

If I'm not mistaken. She was mainly responsible for the English dub (voice casting and shit) and editting the text (rewriting it because she thinks it's too bland).

Ace Attorney is only good because its localization is the latter and it takes it to the max.

>Where he is guaranteed to be tormented and disrespected
not true at all, although I hope for his sake he's in a minor city rather than a major one, or god forbid Tokyo.

She played through Sky. Said the 3rd was her favorite. Still doesn't excuse everything else.

How the tables have turned, get fucked NISAcucks. The only thing that sucks about this, is that CS3 will be fucked over with even more NISA quality and i doubt we'll get a PC release. At least now we dont have to worry about Ys 9

You don't even have self respect, you're defending NISA while trying to say every localization is shit.

>TFW EOP Janitor deleted the Japanese thread

I'm also pretty sure she only liked Sky because of muh strong female lead. If she never bothered touching Zero/Ao she couldn't care that much about the games. I'd even bet she bailed out of working on CS3 because by that point the franchise is clearly pandering to a male audience.

The thing Tom did was put his foot down hard on keeping the abbreviation KKK in that shitty Akiba's Strip sequel. He did it with such gusto that he managed to piss off basically everyone and drove Hatsuu to swear to his face that she'd never speak to him again. This singular, autistic incident is most likely why he both "quit" XSEED and why Hatsuu was fired. I can almost guarantee you that Tom simply quit before he was fired, but Hatsuu didn't think it was going to come to that for her, and she was wrong.

Tom's general stance on censorship is admirable, and he hid his autism well up until this point, but only a ridiculously anal viewpoint would cause an incident like this to occur. A reasonable person would see the damage this would do to his career, the immense hit to his image he would have to take, and the obvious unease he was subjecting his co-workers to, but he powered on through all of that to the point that he had to leave XSEED entirely. All to prevent changing something that absolutely did not matter in the slightest.

And something that the original developers themselves were fine with changing since they were unaware of what KKK meant, if I recall correctly.

It's a pity Tom had to die on that particular hill, but I salute him for doing what he wanted to at least.

Autism can only go so far, it sounds like XSeeD was a madhouse.

I have a feeling it would have happened eventually with people like Hatsuu bitching about "muh problematic japanese games" while Tom didn't give a fuck.

...

It's really no different from other localization teams. It's a wonder they were praised for so long desu. Though Hatsuu is still being praised and has an army of whiteknights. That Jap dub fiasco was also fun. They claimed for years that it was impossible to get original voices for Falcom games. Then NISA and Aksys come in and announce that Ys 8 and Tokyo Xanadu will have the original voices. Xseed and their fans start damage controlling saying Falcom most likely changed their policy just now only for Kondo, the Falcom's president, to come out and say that anyone could get the license of Jap dub for their games, meaning Xseed opted not to.

>Where do you see NISA and XSeeD, ten years from now?

Nisa will comply and censor everything.
Xseed will move entirely to nintendo platform and be uncensored.

>NIS is on the edge of having all of its staff walking out on the studio
That already happened nearly a decade ago and it took them years to recover. I've never heard of a studio losing its key staff twice in a row. Fucking hell.

>Sure Sony won't be happy but the license holders more than likely won't want to work with people who commit those kinds of crimes anymore.
As long as they aren't doing cocaine, they don't give a fuck. A license to American territories is free extra money.

This. It's the reason they were so keen to do it to him in the first place. Guy's an assclown.
