Will this game finally make Nintendo realize people love 2D Mario and want more than just constant asset flips (referring to NSMB, not SMM)?
Will this game finally make Nintendo realize people love 2D Mario and want more than just constant asset flips...
Bump
No.
Why
Why would you want a new 2D Mario when the user-made courses are more imaginative and creative than Nintendo's?
Because 99% of levels are made by retarded people that have never once in their life contemplated the intricacies of level design or just children.
Why would an immensely popular asset flip 2D Mario game teach Nintendo that people want more from 2D Mario than asset flips?
Every NSMB except for the Switch re-release has outsold the "main 3D Mario".
Is it naive to expect the search function to not be shit this time? They've done so much to improve this game, yet it could all be for naught if you can't find the good ones.
They're only doing this game because the first one sold so much.
They're gonna take the money and run after this
>Having expectations for modern Nintendo
>They're only doing this game because the first one sold so much.
That's true for 99% of sequels though
Tags will certainly help.
Modern Nintendo has done a ton of great things, from making radical changes to two of their biggest franchises, to investing in new IPs, working closely with Platinum Games, focusing on a single console so there are less game droughts, willing to completely restart Metroid Prime 4 because it simply wasn't good enough,...
Every time a Nintendo game releases there’s like 20 steps backwards when it comes to online, like Smash Ultimate. It’s because of this that I’m worried about SMM2’s online. One simple thing could make the online god awful
People said the same thing about MM1. The answer is no. Which is fine, community content is going to be more interesting than anything Nintendo shits out these days. They just need to give us as many tools as possible to work with.
The droughts are just as bad as the Wii U days.
I want to say a lot of that will be cut down thanks to the online paywall but the Switch is so much more popular than the Wii U that there might actually be more autoscroll retards this time around.
Seems like it's just some games that got delayed, we're getting a ton of games in the latter half of 2019 while there was a glaring drought in the first half of the year. Before that, there was a new Nintendo/exclusive game every month in 2017 and practically every month in 2018, if you include the big expansions for Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2 and Mario + Rabbids.
You might not like every game, but they are there at least.
autoscroll can be pretty neat, as long as you can include/exclude them.
Nah, it was only cool the first time.
Nintendo knows people love 2D Mario, it's just that there's no where left to take it.
Yes there is, there just needs to be some radical changes. For starters, it needs a completely different art style and worlds that are not Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser's Castle, underground, sand level or ice level.
My dream is for a super high effort 2D mario that uses hand drawn animation the entire way through. Something you could satisfyingly end the series on.
