I quit using my 360 after they patched out blades. How that console won it's gen is a mystery considering all it's bullshit. Paid online vs free online, proprietary hard drives, RRoD, DLC, etc.

PS3 had a really shit release. Expensive as sin and nogaems until like 3-4 years in.

360 released as a very weak console, but it came out with some big bangers like Gears, Dead Rising, Halo eventually, consolidating it as the go-to console for everyone and their friends to have.

I think Sony never had a big game for online play until Uncharted 2 came out.
LBP was crazy fun, but it wasn't for everyone.

Oh it's there, just hidden in the most unintuitive place. You had to open the volume controls, click options, and check the box for "phone", after which a slider for the modem speaker shows up next to PCM/MIDI/CD and all the other shit.

It was in the settings of the AOL login application. You could also just send the right AT command directly to the modem manually.

Before the Arcade, there was the Core console, which didn't have an HDD or HDMI out. This meant that early 360 devs still had to account for 64MB memory cards and 480i resolution.

they didn't do much accounting for it, it was basically for like a year and a half and mostly limited arcade games.
