Varnholds lot adds a new mini-adventure that then gives you stuff for your main campaign. Wildcard gives you tiefling race, Kineticist class and 2 Tiefling waifus you can romance at the same time

Whenever you start out in an encounter the rest of my party instantly goes to attack while my kinetic knight just stands there with 3 question marks doing nothing, usually if i see the enemy first and click to attack i can circumvent this but most of the time in instant encounters he just stands there.

It's far closer to IWD/BG than Pillars, in both feel and gameplay. It uses Pathfinder rules, which is essentialy D&D 3.75.

In terms of gameplay, it's like BG1 when you're in the early levels (rough and you'll need to play dirty to win) and NWN 2 during the later levels. The story is very Bioware-like, but actually decent and sometimes even clever, especially when it comes to companions.

There's some choices & consequences that's not made obvious (which is a plus to me, roleplay properly and you won't feel cheated).

Take your time before you start your barony. The time limit is more than you need, by a fair bit, and unlike later time limits finishing early doesn't help.

For later time limits finish the chapter as fast as possible, then spend time exploring, running your kingdom, doing sidequests, etc.

Several sidequests have hidden time limits.

what to keep in mind

Casters are never as powerful when you convert the system to a crpg.

You can shoot physical or energy stuff at bad guys
You give the stuff an element and a form(single-target/wave/line)
Some of these elements and forms cost burn, which lowers your max hp according to your level.
You can channel so that the next thing you cast costs -x burn so you can cast stuff for free
Oh you can also at some point combine 2 elements into a composite element which does the 2 elements combined damage, but costs even more burn.

That's about it I think. Honestly you don't even need to know all of this shit. All you need to know is that the game shows you how much damage each blast does and how much burn it's going to cost, which takes into account which level of the channel shit you're using and some traits you get from leveling.

Oh and I forgot to mention. Your damage scales with CON and physical scales better with CON than energy does, but some aoe forms do half damage with physical and full damage with energy.

I haven't played since the DLCs dropped but, if they didn't change anything, kingdom management is a total waste of time.
The only important part are the artisan, so it's better to put it on the easiest setting (rather than auto) and prioritize them.

Kingdom management killed the entire game for me, so many loading screens for every single little thing that has to do with the kingdom.
And then you forget to do something and you suffer through all of them again.
