Any recommendations for games of similar precise control to Super Mario 64 (excluding more Mario games)

Octopath travel has been recently released on steam but the price is a bit too high at the moment, there's a new game by the devs of legendof grimrock which doesn't look bad but I haven't played it yet

Rayman 2, it’s one of the few 3d platformers that favorably compares to it. It’s more linear though.

I haven’t played Arkham City, Nier or the gameboy loz games yet. Sonic Mania and Super Mario 3D World and CV3 I may consider but I’m not sure as of yet, I felt like Sonic Mania was a rehash of the classic games while 3D World was essentially the same as 3D Land. CV3 I just haven’t really gotten far enough yet since it’s one of the hardest in the series imo, harder than the first and Dracula x

Pretty much every version is good but a lot favor the PS2 or DC version. I played the 64 version and thought it was just fine though.

Mostly because I haven’t finished 1 yet, it probably would get on, but I would prefer to finish it first before making a decision due to the slow paced start.

3 is on every 6th gen console. Idk if you’re a fan of 2d platformers but Origins and Legends are top tier games as well, some like Rayman 1 too, it isn’t a bad game but it has some really annoying level design and can get tedious.

My top 5 Castlevania games would definitely be

I enjoy 2D platformers. My favorite so far is DKC 2 because of it's fast controls. Rayman 2 (N64) is the first I'm playing from the franchise so I'll move up from here.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of chronicles myself, I thought it was decent and it is a more faithful remake of 1 than 4 is but I just prefer 4. Bloodlines is terribly underrated.
