Mainly because adding new characters is such a monumental web of licensing rights, programming, and including shit like for other characters who are already in the game, that I don’t want Sakurai to commit sudoku from all the unneccessary corporate bullshit to make these kinds of things happen.
No offense to Glover personally; it’s just that there are already more characters I’d rather have than the promised 5 DLC slots already, and all of them are arguably less obscure.
But frankly, given the option of having the characters I’d rather play as added in, and converting the current roster of assist trophies into playable characters, I would go for the latter in a heartbeat. And, to be honest, Glover would make a pretty good assist trophy.
