where are the xcom nudes?
it gud vidua
Loverslab if you can navigate the mess.
Just beat it,
>Ironman mode
>get to the final mission
> get last avatar down to one health and lose
>Fuck, don't feel like redoing the entire campgain again
>Take the mission restart the devs offer you on some missions on ironman mode
I know my limits, I'm proud of getting through 99% of the game on normal Iromanmode. The game "beat" me but only just. Felt like just winning it at that point, thanks for the checkpoint Jake. I'm not gonna do another playthrough on ironman mode as I kept losing for so long on the first one I got burnt out with the game. Gonna mod the game some more and play on commander. Hardest part of the game, at least on normal has to be mid-game, if you can get to plasma and powered amour you are pretty much set. If not you will have your shit kicked in.
>Assassin is also waifu.
Yeah, biggest issue with the game is that it is hardest at the beginning and gets easier from there.
>It's a zombie hordes form in the middle of an advent city episode.
God that sitrep was fun.
Ironman is just for people who can't control their inner save scum. I'm more impressed your save didn't get deleted or you didn't lose progress due too bugs. Hats off too ya. Normal mode is baby easy difficulty. Just hard enough for losses, but you can smooth through the campaign pretty easy. Commander where it's at user. Feel the pain of having too restart a whole campaign due too a couple of mistakes or losing your A squad in a mission wipe. It'll teach you how too play like a pro though. After a few real shit campaigns, you'll get too learning how too make the game your bitch. Give it a shot, I promise ya won't regret it.
Nah, well at last on normal early game is piss easy.
>Troopers in amour have the same health as naked secotoids from the first game.
>Troopers are fairly shit all round
>Harder targets with advent commanders but they have pretty low health early game.
Things that can fuck you up early game
>No defense agaisnt mind control, though you can buy a few flash bangs to cancel it.
>Chosen can mess with you a lot.
>Your troops bad accurarcy will put you in a bad position in prolonged fire fights
>Don't have super high level troops with tons of abilities, low amount of options.
Midgame it's just about trying to get to tier 3 amour and weapons as soon as possible, as at that point mutons and shit can fuck you. At tier 3 Mutons are a joke though. Hopefully next game they make the end game harder. I also found the devs can too reliant on amoured enemies late game. Hopefully it will be more balanced in XCOM 3 Fear From the Abyss edition.
What do people want to see from the next XCOM.
My friend works at Firaxis. Aliens fighting on your side will be a thing and they're changing how Pods work so they appear predictably a-la reinforcements.
Again, unlike game jurons I'm not afraid to admit defeat. I know my limits with Xcom. If I do Ironman commadner I'll get burnt out and hate the game. I'm not ashamed to say this game kicks my ass. What I plan to do is limit my self to 3 saves per mission. Even then it's going to have rules, basically I can do it for glitches and bugs, if a shot was bullshit like
>dodged graze
>99% shot and miss.
If I fuck up through bad tactics and I lose a soldier, that's fine by me. And I can only go back on the strategic part of the games saves 3 times in total. That's it.
One thing I will say I did get a bug where a vip got stuck in a truck, thank god for the console commands or I would have been fucked.
What's the best XCOM?
My friend's dog who is friends with a cat at fire axe can confirm this. Though considering the Skirmisher ending that makes sense, they basically bring the rest of the ayys along with them. It also follows Xcom Apocalypse which allowed you to bring ayys and mutants
I can't wait for 3 dimensional water fighting though, make TFTD truley what it was meant to be.
>closest you can get to this is fucking x-piratez though it's qutie limited.
xcom apoc but with the expanded extra cities and cut content that were cut from the game because of the devs having dreams bigger than there coding could handle
i like it quite a lot, however i would like it more if long war of the chosen existed and it didnt take me 20+ minutes to load my hundreds of mods that i simply cant do without which may or may not crash my game
On the pod thing, that's hard to balance. I've always found a big problem with the new X-com's is Pod placement.
The game encourages flanking through narrative and tutorials, but in reality you get punished through pod activation so you learn to be as cheesy as possible. The solution is to make more enemies like the codex and spectre, with loads of abilities and powers to keep you thinking. Honestly those two are my fav enemies in the game. Apart from the chosen.
more than three tech tiers
not as much time-limit BS
Body types (to make it easier for the lazy lewd mod creators)
Keep the focus on art-direction and combat option modularity with the equipment , these were top tier 2.
They should just remake UFO: Afterlight. That was a fun as fuck game
There is no topping the original for me.
Apocalypse second and XCOM2 comes third
I think three techs is fine. I think the timers thing is bullshit though. Most people either get the true concealment mod that turns the timer off until you are spotted. Or they just double the timer length.
Some sort of variant on the lost, not zombies but imagine a horde of enemies with guns shooting at you. You have to take them down as quickly as possible via chain killing like with the lost though.
not an epic exclusive
Steam workshop support is just too convenient to pass up, if that system could then get some minor improvements, like maybe having multiple mod profiles I would be happy.
post toons
A better mod managment system built in would be great. I really doubt they will go epic as Long dong 1 and long dong 2 are super popular. Mods in general keep playing as well. Going for a no mod support platform would be suicide. Fire axe seem to have enough sense not to be stupid. Not sure about 2k though.
heres your free win bro
>that fucking health
What the fuck.
I bought Mutant Year Zero and can barely bring myself to play past the prologue.
action points
free aim
inventories
limb damage
enemy mutators
boss aliens
real strategy map
This. I really underestimated how convenient the workshop was until I used it. Modding was never hard or difficult but being able to press a single button to download and install one is literally game changing.
I understand why,but trust me,it gets pretty damn good later on.
heres who they became when i evaced them after the mission (thanks to mods)
sadly not quite as powerful
>boss aliens
Is this a bait post? We have rulers and the chosen though.
>enemy mutators
We already have sitreps that let advent bring posion weapons, or bring faceless along to their missions.
>that donwgrade
>X-com was a mistake
>I sure miss my comfy amour.
I'm just listing benis boint features lol
how the fuck does he have more health than a sectopod
>Ironman is just for people who can't control their inner save scum.
haha yeah, It isn't like you can save scum Ironman or anything
please help me, I have no self control
>Aliens fighting on your side will be a thing
I won't get my hopes up for a lamia mod
I won't get my hopes up for a lamia mod
I won't get my hopes up for a lamia mod
All that is in Phoenix Point, especially free aim.
Good, you're saving yourself the trouble of having to deal with that inconsistent game that has skill tooltips that lie to you, inaccurate status icons, schizophrenic stealth system rules and a difficulty curve that is either a cliff or a speed bump, depending on if you upgrade one class of weapons or another.
I was going to do iron man but if you fuck up a single click you can potentially blow a whole mission, and other RNG.
So I just save occassionally and pretty much never revert unless some real horseshit happens
Friend says vipers are coming back as playable and enemies. Sectoids too. Alien troops have to be recruited (find one sympathetic to xcom) and are rare. Enemy humans with soldier class abilities and psi powers are going to be common.
Also rookies are not a thing. Every unit starts with a class and every class starts with an ability with no cooldown like create temp cover. Viper Tongue is one.
areas will be smaller but have unlimited line of sight.
Not playing another xcom until they display enemy movement range.
>areas will be smaller but have unlimited line of sight.
What do you mean?
Zones are of limited size, as opposed to huge ones you have to hike across like in X2. New pods usually appear at the edge. But in exchange the player units can see an unlimited distance, as opposed to X2 which had fog of war if you're too far away.
what mod?
Just shut the fuck up you LARPing cunt. Buy a dog or something if you need attention this badly.
>horde sitrep
>objective: destroy all enemies
epic
I guess I'll have to try it out before I judge it. I'm just not sure how well it will play out compared to the other games.
You'll see I'm right when the game is announced.
I really really hate this vidya for destroying a great franchise and giving literally nothing but a mediocre experience in return. I also hate how it got popular and set an industry standard for years to come.
Well actually it gave us one thing and that is a bunch of retards who think that playing ironman vanilla is actually a skill based experience.
Seriously, what's his problem ?
What makes you think it won't play well?
>mfw assassin doesn't spawn with the immune to overwatch bs perk
SEETHING boomer
>halo reach weapons mod
>ODST armor/helmets mod
>Pelican skyranger mod
>A fuckton of voicepacks and QOL mods
I just need a covenant Enemies mod and I'll be complete
>ODST armor/helmets mod
Mind if I ask for a link?
I haff been upgraded for zis assignment.
>a game released after the death of the series killed the series
EWLW has Bronze Mode that's pretty easy to emulate in XCOM2. You can't savescum in missions or in strategic mode, but you can restart tactical missions if you really fuck up.
steamcommunity.com
Just write HALO on the workshop.
Some other remarkable mods:
>Halo loading screens
>Halo music
>Spartan armors
That feel when you made this picture nearly 10 years ago in a different font and see it come around again.
I really am an old fag.
I never really had any trouble with that. When you realize that she almost always wants to run in for melee, you learn how to manipulate her movements into coverless areas where you can reveal her. Then you just light her up with your entire squad and she goes down. First chosen I kill almost every time, the Arashi is just too powerful. If you get lucky enough, you might even get to rush her compound while you only have tier 2 and she has yet to get her fourth perk. Being able to crit for 20 while most things still have 15 health at max is just stupid.
>implying that OG game is any harder than XC2
But seriously, why some of the OG fans hate Jake's-Com ?I mean, I understand that they cut off bunch of mechanics and make EW\EU more casualised, but in the other hand nobody (at least vast majority of consumers) wouldn't buy a game with ton's of dificult mechanics and manegment nowdays.
>I really really hate this vidya for destroying a great franchise
Yeah dude that dead series sure got killed by two new games that pretty much stand on their own two feet while going for their own thing. I can't wait for you babies to start shitting up the thread by bitching about not being able to move around the map without triggering the enemies you're supposed to kill

i think it might just come with the advent custodian mod by default that lets them appear on missions as double agents, though i have 100+ mods so i might be missing something
Those guys on the screen are not that bad if you have power armour. Before that though it's gonna be painful.
My most satisfying experience was gearing everyone into flying power armour and going through the roof on big UFOs. Cannon for the win.
long war a best
>Play ironman on hardest diff
>+- Halway thru the game
>In middle of some random mission game crashes
>"I dont care takes like half a minute to boot and load"
>Start game
>Save file is gone
>Go googel to see if anything can be done
>Alot of people had the same problem and you should make manual backup saves to counter this
>>Ironman
>>>>Going to game files and copy pasting saves
>>>>>Or take a gamble and hope your save file doesnt disengrate randomly
Fucking went top unga bunga that day.
Pretty sure that's the custodian mod. They're just meatshields that will oneshot almost anything in melee with a power fist. They're fucking cancer on timed missions but can't move far and their aim is shit. The ones with micromissiles are worse.
The biggest piece of shits modded enemies are Riftkeepers and Venators. Change my mind.
I don't. The loading times are fucking atrocious, I spend more time on a loading screen than I do on actually playing and completing the said level.
Me too fren, I have over 200 hours in it and considering going for a third playthrough soon. What are some good mods?
>takes too long to get a useful psychic
>locked at only 1 or 2 of each of the special classes
I get that these are supposed to be unique units, but I love them so dang much and would like to field entire squads of them
I just don't like the reverse difficulty slope where the beginning of the game fucks your shit up but once you start getting majors and good weapon upgrades you just dunk on everyone.
Also the pod system is outdated and gay.
They really aren't. Is your hardware from this decade?
Wouldn't that ruin the on the fly decision making feeling when not really knowing what kind of cover is ahead of you?
yes and i have like 210 mods installed :)
help
F9
Very kino. Especially with mods. EW was bretty good too.
this stupid piece of shit could have been the turn based GOAT if there wasnt some bug/bullshit fucking up my ironmans in every other mission
WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR THEM TO DEVELOP A STABLE GAME
incredibly based vidya OP
Play with mods that let you train them like any other class. It's nice to have them as an option.
I've just done a play through with pods that get larger based on alert levels, mods that remove the golden path, dynamic pod activation, larger squad sizes, lost overhauls, and a bunch of added enemies that fuck you up late game. I can recommend trying that out if you want tactical to get crazy.
steamcommunity.com
this one is essential for me since i played the fuck out of lw2 before getting wotc, you can do the objective and evac out and the mission counts as a win instead of a fail
pretty balanced as well considering you'll lose xp for your dudes if you leave before clearing the map but it makes the game feel much more guerrilla especially on missions that ought to be impossible (when you play on legendary with lots of enemy mods), as you can just cheese the objective and flee
steamcommunity.com
and this one if you want a better strategy layer, again like lw2, the more missions you do in a continent the higher the "heat" meter grows, eventually after some time itll increase and youll start facing tougher foes upgraded beyond the norm (which makes the above mod even better) forcing you to play in other continents
basically just check out realitymachina's collection, he has lots of neat stuff
honorary mention for rpgo as well, if youre still using the 4 default classes youre doing it wrong
>rpgo
Oh my gosh that's a lot of abilities
>pods that get larger based on alert levels
>dynamic pod activation
got any links? sound pretty rad
