Why is the switch pro controller so much better than the joycons?

How are these two things made by the same company yet have a large difference in quality?

D pad sucks. Wish they had just used what they had with the Wii u pro controller. Makes some games unplayable because of it.

They didn't even try to make this piece of crap ergonomic. They just slapped 2 tubes on the handles and called it a grip. How anyone praises this trash is beyond me.

It really IS fantastic, totally worth the money. I got mine for $55 from Walmart. It makes such a difference when playing games. Ergonomically on par with Xbone controller, maybe even better.

Wii U Pro Controller was superior, especially with the D-Pad.
The one on the Switch Pro makes 2D platformers and fighters almost unplayable.

i like playing tetris99 with the joycons detached, games that use joystick like zelda probably better with pro

My procontroller started drifting and the usual shit doesn’t work. Just bought a powera and it werks for now, but fuck me if I get the urge to play splatoon any time in the near future

Maybe it's just me, but this is the most comfortable controller I've held.

Least that hori one was dirt cheap because jesus christ nintendo dropped the ball in quality here, but yeah the hori is for smash, the pro is for "easy" games where if the pad dies it won't fuck me over and the 8bitdo is my "real" controller but I must admit despite kinda like a ps controller in shape it doesn't feel right playing smash with it even though its VERY responsive

Would rather one controller that is perfect than all these pads to do different things, only reason why I went full retard is if I have friends over since they all work together

It’s actually comfortable to hold, unlike the joycons.

for me it's the button size

the buttons on the joy cons feel uncomfortably tiny

the only problem I have with the pro controller is the dpad feels like ass and sometimes double taps directions

Nintendo rushed out the Switch, as made clear by a number of design flaws not found on their other consoles. The joycons were made as the systems primary controller, so they had more time to go and revise and tweak things to make the pro controller better

It doesn't have a charging port, an audio jack, any way to control volume and it's shape sucks. The Switch was clearly meant to be a handheld, and a handheld only.

It works on pc so money well spent desu

Many people like this controller, many people have no issue and find the d-pad ok to say the least, so the games are perfectly playable with it.
