It was glitchy as hell in the first days of LBP3.
Now it is just LBP2 but with more stuff.

We hate it because it's a piece of shit.
Now fuck off, bitch. You're starting to get on my nerves.

look at the story mode in LBP 1 and compare it to the sequels
LBP 1 was charming as fuck

>boy, i cant wait to play this community level when it loads!

Attached: skeleton.jpg (1300x957, 203K)

It was buggy as hell at launch, and it still is. Almost impossible to play with friends. Save data still gets corrupted. Loading takes forever. Split the community in half between PS3 and PS4. LBP1 anniversary edition DLC doesn't transfer. They wasted a bunch of time on unnecessary characters whose roles could be filled with sackbots.

Because it lacks the Mm charm and feels way to childish as a consequence.

such a shame dreams lacks charm too

You're just getting old.

shut up bitch

nope, dreams looks lame as fuck compared to the original LBP

nah it just looks like a engine tech demo

Come on, when was last time you last felt that way about any game?

I never liked the overview 3D minigames that became a trend as they were the "new" thing of the game. I would have prefered an improved platform system, which they did with the dog transformation... but the dog sucks and was barely used by anyone

I love games, fuck your retard narrative trying to downplay how lame dreams seems

That's just because you're an uncreative piece of shit.
If you only care about superficial things, such as "looks," then you're an faggot.

spotted the tiny mind

>rivals sonic the hedge hog

yeah those shitty remakes of other game levels in dreams sure are creative

It isn't. It is arguably the most charming thing they have made so far.

Attached: 1550854846703.webm (1280x720, 611K)

Because pretty much everything about Little Big Planet is fantastic except for the minute to minute gameplay which feels like fucking shit

I don't think so, dreams is very unfocused

Yeah, definitely keep picking those out and ignore the many other original works for the sake of your shitty argument

My mind is big as fuck, guy.

>remakes of other game levels in dreams sure are creative
It's to show people who are unfamiliar with the game the creative freedom that it offers.

well then, proceed to post those shitty anime titties animations you people spam in every dreams threads

How so? Are you talking about the community creations not being focused? You could say the same thing about LBP's community creations.

no it's autists remaking shit because they tiny minds

LBP is a multiplayer party platformer, it's very focused with defined mechanics

If it wasn't a PlayStation exclusive, Yea Forums would be all over Dreams.

Don't know about you guys, but it ran worse than LBP1 on PS3. Also, I'm under the impression the series killed it's beautiful simplicity by the second game.

maybe if it was developed as a professional toolset for PC it could be useful for more than gamejam looking shovelware

Just watch some of the Media Molecule community collections
youtu.be/HypfUdeNu9M

I don't know if you're genuinely unable to see how fucking trash that shit looks like if you're looking to play some games because you got your ass up your so called creative ass or something
if these games were released as actual games outside of the game, do you think people would see anything in these creations??

>if these games were released as actual games outside of the game, do you think people would see anything in these creations??
Have you seen the Steam store lately?

But that is easy to say when the campaign hasn't been released yet. It features a co-op 3d brawler and platformer.
Also very focused and defined mechanics.

yes shovelware is shovelware no matter where it exists

youtu.be/FbpkQ4NztWY?t=483

FPS games seem to be pretty fucking alright.

it's got nothing to do with the campaign, dreams isn't focused on any mechanic, also the campaign will consist of bunch of self contained "games"

when you play LBP you play a party platformer, when you play dreams you play this unfocused game that's driven by tech demos shat out by the community and you know it's true

No they don't.
They have huge minds.

case in point

>also the campaign will consist of bunch of self contained "games"
3 games that are entertwined with eachother. The mechanics are entirely seamless and feel completely polished at all times.
I think the mechanics are very well defined and polished. It doesn't have any of the usual drawbacks of being unfocused.
youtu.be/0s1TesQNrd4?t=212

>shovelware simulator
nobody asked of this

Explain how all of these games have better and more polished gameplay mechanics than 99% of all shovelware released then.

Because its gimoed by being tied to a console and having incredibly floaty controls.

Yes, you can do precision platforming, but it still controls like ass.

I would fucking kill to have it on PC.

You replied to me one minute later. I will not accept your opinion until you've spent an hour watching one of the streams. Go educate yourself and open your eyes you old jaded fuck

I liked the game and it's characters but god damn Sumo really did glitch it up. Why did Mm give it to them?

From what level is that? Is there a video with thermo visible? I doubt you could make a full game with enemies. Maybe ps5 will give us more thermo usage or optimization will but I doubt logic can be optimized any further.

Sumo are actually pretty tight, no bully. Their Outrun 2006 port sill runs like a dream.

I don't know what the crap happened however. Keep in mind LBP started to run like crap ever since the first game. And now outsource a port to a studio that wasn't involved in the creation of the previous games, likely in a tight time frame.

>sure its shit but its polished shit
excellent point

It was taken from the dudes twitter (don't remember his name, lurk the madeindreams hashtag)
What about this seems like it takes up a lot of thermo?
The amount of objects in the scene is rather modest as it seems to be a test level and the character model just has a bunch of paint strokes which are pretty cheap as long as you don't merge them and copy them.
Shovelware is only trash because it is unpolished and low ambition. Otherwise there is no difference between shovelware and almost all old games.

there literally isn't any focus in dreams, it's not a platformer etc.

no soul compared to LBP1 and 2

shovelware is shovelware because there are better games

I've already seen parts of the video before you linked it

also yes it does have all the drawbacks, when I jump in an play it I wouldn't get a consistent experience at all while with LBP I am playing a platforming game, with dreams you get tech demos

What is the problem with not having a focus?
That means everything is shovelware except 1 game.
You didn't get a consistent experience with LBP either stop lying. Most people tried to force LBP to do something it wasn't designed to do anyway. With Dreams, people have already made levels that play the same or better than anything in LBP.

Is LBP3 worth playing now? I bought it at launch and gave up because of all the glitches, pretty much only played the campaign because i always got disconnected for no reason. Is the game patched and the community worth it or it's beyond dead at this point?

with LBP you got a platformer game and the issue with not having focus is that you don't get any consistent experience at all, another issue is that without focus you have to work a lot harder to create something that's not shit, with LBP your concern was designing levels that work with the existing gameplay framework, with dreams you create your shit from scratch, I know you might argue that there's some presets or something, but that won't reflect community levels at all
>Most people tried to force LBP to do something it wasn't designed to do anyway.
bullshit, yes there was a calculator level but that's not what the game was at all, also it's far more interesting to see how people deviate from something focused

>That means everything is shovelware except 1 game.
no because people have preferences. that's like saying fortnite is better than total war.
did you not think this point through at all?

it looks like it would eat up the logic thermo. Same as with the dog platformer where logic thermo was 98%.

this shit kill dreams for me, the thermometer is way too limited and linking levels is not as ideal

>that one seething ESL in every dreams thread

kek
does he know his broken english posting style immediately exposes him every time?

fuck off with your boogieman shit

ive easily spent over a 1000hrs in both 1 and 2 but i couldnt even finish 3's story mode
its way too glitchy and takes too long to load and crashes too much
i remmember staying hours on a loading screen and then having the game crash on me when it finally loads a level

>Story mode
2>1>3
>Gameplay
3>2>1
Characters
2>3>1, maybe 2>3=1
Costumes
2>1>3
Music
2>1>3
Level themes/designs
1=2=3 (Ziggurat carries 3 here)

Change my mind.

first one had a better story mode and infinitely better music

bunker alone is better than the entire story mode of lbp 2, also the ost of the first one consistent of cool shit like tapha niang and get it together

>That one angry loser who uses the term 'ESL" non stop
Literally have sex already and stop making yourself so identifiable

But Dreams is a game engine. You are arguing that a game engine like Unity or Unreal is too "unfocused" that doesn't make any sense. You can make content that is just fine.
It is way easier to find good content now, anyway.
I literally followed the line of logic that you brought to the table.
The doggo platformer doesn't have more than 30% of the logic thermo. Why lie?
Only the graphics thermo is high, but that is because he pushes the detail on all objects as much as possible even if it doesn't provide any visual benefit.

Yeah good thing LBP didn't have any of that

I just bought a Vita since it's easily hackable.
Are the Vita LBP servers still online?
I wouldn't mind dabbling in that if I can still download user based levels and make my own.

>The doggo platformer doesn't have more than 30% of the logic thermo. Why lie?
it does not. Its better now but over 70% is still quite high

forgot link
youtube.com/watch?v=Q2dW04pJyTM

Yeah a tech demo is even more childish.
At least Little Big Planet had full levels.

Logic is the top one. Middle is graphics and it's so high because the dog sculpt is unoptimized

The logic thermo is the top one. The middle is the graphics one.

LBP3 was still glitchy. Dreams isn't even released yet, and it already has days worth of full levels as well.

>dreams is a game engine
Okay well as a game engine it's not very good and as a game it's worse

well fuck I remembered it wrong. Did they change it from the beta? I remember the top one being the graphic one.

Why is it not very good as a game engine? It is way faster to get the results you want.
Why is it worse as a game? How many of the more finished games have you tried? What is the difference between those and other games?
They might have changed it, but I know that it is the top one that is logic now at least.

The results you get from it are gamejam tech demos...

If you are alone and only spend half a day? Then yes. But that goes for all game engines.

Lmao the end result for people interested in playing shit is just a bunch of shovelware

Nah there are hundreds of people who are working on full levels.
There is already several full games with more than 5 hours of content etc.

literally haven't seen a single creation that's actually legit on the same level as an actual game I'd want to play

everything in dreams so far looks pretty shit especially once you compare it to stuff outside of the game

also you saying there's hour long games in it is not different from me saying there's 100 hour rpg maker games out there, my actual point is about the quality of your experience as a player

These games are fun I can't see why anybody would say they absolutely hate it. Not having fun is one thing but hating these games would just be autistic.

They should've never released it as cross platform with PS3. The thermo was the same as LBP2, which hampered the experience. Now with dreams the same problems are true, had they just made LBP4 I think I would've been happier.

It takes time, were not gonna see any big games for a long while but they will come. Part of the problem is that early access creations may not transfer over to the final game so there's no point pouring tons of time and effort into something that might get deleted anyway.

I figure it's a huge issue and might keep the game from gaining traction but we'll see

there's a point to more focused shit like mario maker or LBP

>literally haven't seen a single creation that's actually legit on the same level as an actual game I'd want to play
>Dat goalpost
lmao son
So there doesn't exist any RPG maker games that are entertaining?

Yea I've been making stuff in dreams recently, but I would be lying if I didn't wish it was just a new LBP. Dreams is like LBP but you have to self program all of sackboys moves, animations, and power-ups.

>So there doesn't exist any RPG maker games that are entertaining?
probably not lol, but even if there are, what's that got to do with anything?

That your presumptions are based on ignorance which was just proven. Thanks ;-)

One could argue LBP1 had janky "realism based" physics, but people still had fun with it. You could make the argument that Dreams still has that arts-and-crafts style, but all the same it looks like what people loved about LBP, without the focus.

If you're asking for AA quality levels and polish, and won't accept anything less, then that's your call. It's frigging Media Molecule, you know what you're expecting out of it. You search "big PP" and fine like 50 trash posts and a few good levels. Plus, the experimental stuff will be entertaining.

Frigging coop bomb survival levels. Loved that crap, and we'll see more of that kind of mindset. No crap it'll have the polish of an Itch.io game at best, but that's not what the game is for.

I want to make my dumb fun and play other people's dumb fun. Yeah, at some point Dreams is a limiting factor, but that's also how the game is playable and capable of creating content with a DS4, for one.

yeah if you didn't like the gameplay in LBP, then the levels didn't save it for you, that's true for sure
dreams falls flat to me because it lacks any consistency
I haven't played all RPG maker games, I don't understand how that's relevant when the point is that your experience playing dreams will consist of mediocre shit
you don't play RPG maker

>the point is that your experience playing dreams will consist of mediocre shit
But what would you know about that when you haven't played it?

I've looked at the videos where people play community levels, including the developers

>yeah if you didn't like the gameplay in LBP, then the levels didn't save it for you, that's true for sure
>dreams falls flat to me because it lacks any consistency
That's fine. I have a soft spot for janky experimental stuff when the content justifies it. Gmod says hello. In fact, the LBP bomb survival levels were fun because you were wrestling the environment destruction with the somewhat realistic physics.

I'm curious what Dream's content will look like. Being more open ended, being able to make models with a Move controller, even VR support. But there's also the worry in practice it'll be a "Unity but in practice leaning on the shovelware". I feel LBP2 was the start of Media Molecule's feature creep, I hope this isn't the epitome of that. But then again, a majority of all content isn't that great, and I had fun with LBP, so ye.

I'll probably pay attention what's happening after Early Access.

Oh. You have looked at them? Shiiiiiieeeeet.

They're fun and it's fun to see the level and know how it was made and that you could make it too. Why do you hate fun?

I don't know if you even believe your own implications about having to play the game to know what the levels are like, it's not like I am unable to see what the game offers

You need to play a game to know how the mechanics feel. The feel of Dreams is the best part of it.

I thought you design your game mechanics yourself...

Sure. And it is quite easy.

okay well now you're being a retard and contradicting yourself

Nothing I have said was in contention with anything I have said prior.

have sex

>you gotta play it because of gamefeel
>yeah dude gameplay is created my the players
you're just dumb

2/10
