I absolutely love the photorealism in this game for my part. For me, DMC always has been the franchise who tried to be realistic but who had its limits in doing so (financial most probably in this case). When I think about anime style, I automatically think about FF for example. So for me 5 is the logical direction in this aspect. I generally tend to have a problem with photorealism though. DMC5, is one of the only game, this generation that I like when it comes to this.

That would leave out Trish and Nico, while Lady would have barely any visible change. Not to mention it sounds a bit lazy, DMC is very stingy with costumes, if they actually bother to make some I'd rather have ones that replace the whole outfit.

Devil May Cry was away for a decade and had a polarizing reboot as well.

The fact that DMC5 is the fastest selling game in the franchise along with DMC4 is impressive as it is. It would never sell insane Monster Hunter numbers.

To be honest I think DMC5SE being a next-gen launch title makes the most sense.

Last gen consoles are obviously too weak for LDK and Turbo mode, and launch titles literally always sell, since people will basically buy anything just to try their new consoles.

DMC5 mods often look weird because so much of DMC5 is real-life photoscanned objects so stuff that's handmade can easily stick out.

I think this proves true for Sekiro especially. Sekiro sold more than DS3, but it died faster. It already sits at around 1k on twitch. DS3 was still in the high 30-40k at around this same time after release. I don't see Sekiro making much more than a high 2.8, maybe even 3. Not 4 though.

Vergil is hard to define, while his victims are mostly collateral, he doesn't actively attack human kind like for example Wesker, it can't really be called a neutral if he knew they will die in thousands or more.

Yeah. Capcom (and pretty much everyone else) always announces physical shipments and digital copies. There's no way to track sales of physical games worldwide.
And to publishers, shipped copies are as good as sold, since that's where they get the money from. If they don't sell, unsold copies are retailers' problem, the publisher just won't get any new shipment orders for said game.
In any case, DMC5 is the fastest selling (or shipping, for autismos) game in the entire series. The amount of 2 million copies is a lot, but casuals are too used to Call of Duty, FIFA, Assassin's Creed numbers. they see it as standard. No, they're not standard, they're exceptions. They have a job to do, and the support characters have their lives and jobs as well.

It's closure. The setting doesn't need revisiting. If love more action games like it, but DMC can now out with grace now. I'd hate to see it go the way of Mega Man X or Street Fighter. Let it sleep, and we can enjoy a new action series.

Kyrie was useless and there was nothing interesting about her. She was generic. She doesn't need to be powerful, but maybe if she had some personality. Like classic Lois Lane, she didn't have Superman's strength, but she had a strong personality. She can stand up for herself.
