>After the publication of our Anthem investigation last month, which documented a turbulent development marked by mismanagement, crunch, and anxiety, four former CDPR employees reached out to tell me that they had seen similar problems in Warsaw. “I’ve felt that there are hundreds of parallels that could be drawn between the story of the rocky development of Anthem and the story of the rocky and even-more-rocky-to-become development of Cyberpunk 2077,” said one former CDPR employee in an e-mail.
>There have also been signs that development on Cyberpunk 2077 might not be going smoothly. For example, as the employees who reached out told me, this year the company has told staff to work through Polish holidays, and that there will be mandated periods for vacation. Rather than take off whenever they’d like, CD Projekt Red’s developers have to limit their vacation to specific times in 2019. One period will be this summer, right after E3, while another will be in the winter.
>Although CDPR first announced Cyberpunk 2077 in 2013, development of the game didn’t really start until 2015. Then followed a difficult period of preproduction (including at least one major directional shift), and the studio made the very-common mistake of moving their entire development team to Cyberpunk before the project could support that many people. Add major technological overhauls and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. “It’s always the same story across the entire industry,” said Badowski. “If you’re changing the technology and at the same time you’re producing the game, it’s a nightmare for most of the companies.”
>It led to a difficult period for the company, one marked by turnover and unclear direction. “The transition from The Witcher 3 to Cyberpunk, initially that was the hardest part, because a lot of these things have to be defined,” said Iwiński. “We have a demo which is sort of crystallizing the vision, to prove that it’s there.”
>former CDPR employee in an e-mail >former >in email nice.

>Schreier
Cameron Lewis
I hate Kotaku but Schreier's investigatory articles are pretty solid.
Juan Anderson
Schrier posts everything he does here.
Not even joking, it's literally him.
Nathaniel Hughes
Hello Schrier Hope you're having a good day
Andrew Butler
Just sounds like they're being made to work harder, which is rather bad, but not that they have no fucking idea what the development for the game even should be like Anthem. I mean the game is based on an existing universe of sorts unlike Anthem which was literally making up their story and direction as they went. Seems like a pretty shit comparison.
Ryder Gomez
Imagine shilling Kotaku
Isaiah Murphy
Sounds to me like industry-standard crunch (which is bad), but nothing about literally not knowing how to use an engine like in Anthem's case.
Brandon Rivera
Oh my God. They are forcing them to take holidays during summer and Christmas. Fucking monsters that's almost slavery.
Luis Kelly
it's not crunch because the worker that do it sign a paper first, goy. Only EVIL companies do crunch, no the talented hard working brothers and sisters that make games I LIKE.
Dominic Anderson
nobody cares about crunch. it's their job, do not want to do it - leave.
Jayden Scott
you are a child if you cant separate ones political views from their actual work. schreier is the only legitimate journalist gaming media has left
Carson Walker
i wish my work demanded we take time off twice a year.
I remember in 2017 we didnt even get to take any time off during christmas
Landon Morales
>first announced Cyberpunk 2077 in 2013, development of the game didn’t really start until 2015 >at least one major directional shift
Other than CDPR working their slav(e)s to the bone to finish the game on time, nothing is out of ordinary about this.
Carson Perez
Are you Chinese or American? What a shitty life man.
Oliver White
I remember noclip doc about tw3, they didn't know what the fuck they were doing with that game during development. Somehow finished it in 3.5 years. There was more than one directional shift in there.
Angel Murphy
Fuck off Schreier.
Jaxon Sanchez
Two actual employees, still actually working on the project, and one former one working at Rockstar right now, all came out on Twitter blasting this article and about how Schreier got duped by fake emails. What a joke.
Isaac Barnes
This romantic idea of "no-crunch" and "humane working conditions" while still delivering quality products in a timely manner in the vidya industry does sound nice on paper but impossible in practice. Salaries can get raised but that's about it. I don't know why this crunch thing is suddenly such an issue NOW and not say, 5 years ago.
Brody Diaz
Source?
Aiden Thompson
>“If you’re changing the technology and at the same time you’re producing the game, it’s a nightmare for most of the companies.” If there any zoomers in here, this is how Carmack and Quake literally tore id apart.
Joshua Fisher
are you fucking retarded? saying that it has always been the same is not an argument to not change it
Logan Richardson
He doesn't have one, it's his headcanon
Zachary Jenkins
Pfft, a CDPR employee lives like royalty compared to the average pole.
Bentley Diaz
more like 25 years ago, crunch was a thing since forever, that's how video game industry works, when team gets in a flow it must work blizz makes games slow, see where they are now
The entire professional gamedev field is basically idiots being squeezed out of every last drop of life and happiness they have left for corporate profits. Everybody is doing it, why not CDPR too.
Christopher Garcia
Yes, we should trust the "Kotaku has 15 million unique visitors everyday"-Scheier.
James Williams

Jack Price
You need to be 18 to post here.

There is nothing wrong with crunch. If devs don't like it they can go work elsewhere.
Colton Barnes
Apparently Ubisoft don't crunch their employees.
Christian Gutierrez
*SLURP* >it doesn't have to be at night >it doesn't have to be in a large city >it doesn't need to be 3rd person >it doesn't need to have the different classes >it doesn't need the player to be able to use flying cars >It doesn't need accessible interiors for buildings >It doesn't need to be free of liberal bullshit >It doesn't need to have good customisation options >it doesn't need to have real dialogue choices >it doesn't need you to be able to join different factions >it doesn't need to have killable NPCs >it doesn't need to have Trauma Team as a gameplay element the player can use >it doesn't need to have destructible environments >it doesn't need to have good graphics WE ARE NOW HERE >it doesn't need dynamic weather systems >it doesn't need to have a branching story >it doesn't need to have massive crowds of people >it doesn't need to not be downgraded >it doesn't need to have substance >it doesn't need to not be GTA 2077
Their games are incredibly formulaic and bland for a reason.

It's true though. If you want to start a business there's no place better to be a founder than America. Even now.
Samuel Cruz
Startup culture in America is stale now.
Xavier Diaz
america is the greatest country on earth and if you disagree youre either a commie or a delusional europoor
Julian Brooks
"Startups" aren't real businesses though, they're just whiny millennials with CS degrees and mediocre grades who think they're going to make the next Facebook
Before events like e3 and launch it's natural that they will want crunch because any work before the event will be worth many times times more then work after the event. As long as employees get properly compensated lobbying against the practice is retarded. If you want a 9 to 5 job year round, look for another job in another field.
Nathaniel Watson
Apologize to quarter pounder Jason.
Benjamin Reed
why
Andrew Sanders
most of the biggest businesses today were start ups 10 or 20 years ago. We won't know the which of the start ups being incorporated now are the next big thing for another decade
Jeremiah James
>If you want to start a business there's no place better to be a founder than America Sure, but you're fucked for everything else. You either work for yourself, as a slave or become homeless.

This game is gonna be garbage, just like Witcher 3
Nolan Bennett
I mean you can say that but they certainly were real businesses 5 years ago and a lot of them are very successful. It's died over in the states now though, even places like Tallinn in Estonia are more appealing.

Samuel Perez
Witcher 3 was worth playing, which is like 1% of any games made.
Carson Rogers
2-3 week crunches towards the end can be normal in both game development and animation. but EA-tier half a year to year long crunches is a sign that either EA is exploiting their employees or their managers are retarded and cannot manage the time schedules in every single project they have.
It was your typical open world, ubisoft style action rpg with subpar gameplay, I don't know why everybody sucks that game's cock so much
Aaron Cruz
>is not an argument to not change it can't change something that is mandatory, given the human nature and the way the job is done. No amount of management fascism will change the fact that : - people never give their 100% when they think they are "on time" at the beginning of the project, and they will naturally stall some of their own work to "keep a good mood" in the open space, until the last third of the project and the obligatory rush to the deadline - no matter how young and vivacious your team is, people will get sick, will have accidents, will have their computer die on them leading to the others to catch up on the loss of manpower - the competition will release their own products, leading your designer team to adapt if they want to stay state-of-the-art - your investors will demand updates and changes on the product based on frivolous reasons, and your contract make you obey - there will be a rotten apple in the team thatgot hired on lies and whose incompetence will sabotage other people's work and put the blame on everything else. The only good way to deal with it is to teach your employees crunch is happening at some point, and that the volunteers have to be prepared, and the ones that refuse will have to help the team in another way, or quit before the project starts. Notice that all report of "evil crunch" is by former employees. They are the ones that did wan't to do it and left, while most of the others agreed and didn't complain.

Josiah King
Weren't there previous reports of people fainting / losing consciousness in CDPR offices?
This was true w/ Gwent as well. Toxic crunch time + old management who barely knows video games and the audience get to stay at the top mgt. Meanwhile those poor plebs are literally dying lol.
It wouldn't surprise me if Cyberpunk 2077 turned out to be shit since those underpaid and overworked poles might be seeking vengeance by subliminally putting bugs in codes or shit.
Either way I literally have no expectations since this is CDPR afterall and it's better to have none so you don't get disappointed after too much "hype"
Carson Diaz
>omg guys I was LITERALLY DYING at work! yeah, this was totally real and totally happened.
Camden Collins
you think they ever had plans for witcher 3 to be more like witcher 2 at first as in not a open world game?
Gavin Morris
I work at Poland it´s all true I saw them moving out the corpses

Isn't that how things work in Europe? You have some specific periods for your holidays, which are usually summer, Christmas and Easter. I know Americans have this tradition of just working all year but taking a week off whenever, but I've never seen that in Europe except for the higher ups
Nathan Adams
Lolicon.

Easton Price
imaging hurting your own product like this. Your own work. >Oh im strassed outt. work is hardd. my boss is too demanding >*leaks some sabotaging shit out to a journalist and turning the public against the game* >??? >relief. work's easy now.

Dylan Gutierrez
You're ugly and bald.

rent, taxes, legal aid(yes), accountant salaries, management salaries, inflation etc. etc. etc. companies have running costs, video game companies do not make money outside from selling videogames and living off that revenue for next video game.
Ryder Price
Dying because you couldn't risk seeing a doctor for feeling a little dizzy and being charge $599 USD is shit. Oh whoops turns out you're dizzy because had a developing brain tumour.

Jonathan Miller
>Bosses can get away with anything because the public is only focused on the end-product >Talk anonymously about work conditions to, let's be honest, one of the few respected people in gaming journalism >Forces bosses to reconsider and change something otherwise they keep getting bad press Realistically it might not do much. I doubt Bioware is going to change anything about the way they run things just because 2 major flops and one article showed how juvenile they are. But it can work and it's better than to just shut up and take it.
Luke Clark
>video game companies do not make money outside from selling videogames and living off that revenue for next video game. They actually make money on the side being contracted to doing programming work for other software companes and even for working on ports of games for middle tier publishers.
Aiden Gutierrez
Eh, the game could still be good, we'll see closer to release.
Parker Kelly
>Work Holidays. >Vacations are scheduled.
I fail to see how this is bad... A job is a job. If you don’t want to work then don’t go looking for one. Not to mention most countries pay you double when working holidays.
Sounds to me like a bunch of pussies.
When they’re being degraded to sleep at work, dehydrated and malnourished due to abuse then ring the bell.
Adam Cooper
binland here, i thought norway was the same kind of socialist utopia. absolutely the worst place to start a business in
Joseph Walker
don't be silly, you don't have enough work hours for your own game to spare it on out sourcing there are the out sourcing companies, yes, but they do not make games and rarely grow out of out sourcing to making their own games
Noah Davis
Did you miss part were it says former employees?
Cooper Green
Also >Unlike many other game studios, which avoid paying overtime to employees on annual salaries, CD Projekt Red pays all of its staff for overtime—150% for nights, and 200% for weekends. For many, that isn’t enough to make up for lost family time and other mental and physical issues that can result from overwork.
So yeah, basically just ex-wagies being butthurt.
Parker Harris
They can and do the extra work on the side to fund further development of a project or for costs especially when the number of people needed to finish a project might be reduced to meet schedule. Dunno about AAA dev studios but middle tier and small studios have done this from time to time.
Michael Garcia
bioware? im talking about cdpr. bioware devs game was already out and obviously fucked so those devs were like "this is why". If your game is NOT OUT you aren't helping by fucking shit talking it that just increases the pressure. also Muh working on a holiday. Every cunt wants to work on glamorous shit and also have 35 hour weeks. It's fucking one or the other. Put work first and make games/movies/cool new technology or, be a bureaucrat and have long weekends
Dylan Sanchez
>crunch >overtime >scheduled vacation i work in construction and non of this seems inhumane or abnormal
Connor Morales
oh. in that case it shouldn't even be published it's just fucking catty babies trashing their ex
Andrew Anderson
>CD Projekt Red pays all of its staff for overtime—150% for nights, and 200% for weekends. what the fuck are these heavenly rates? and that fuck dared to complain? I'd be happy If I get 1.25 for a weekend.

Is hiring more people or delaying release 'romantic ideas'?
Ayden Campbell
Jason plz, why would anyone ever take you seriously after that total bullshit you pulled?
Oliver Rivera
We shouldn't support the idea that if the end-product is good it somehow justifies the crunch. It should be that it's good, in spite of the crunch. That being said, CDPR seems to at least compensate their employees well for their crunch. The only issue I could see is them finding reasons to fire people who don't do crunch. That'd be horrific.
Jack Carter
and that's why salaries are a gay meme for literal cucks
David Rodriguez
>You have some specific periods for your holidays, which are usually summer, Christmas and Easter. No, the only places I know of that really limit shit is in Retail where you wont be allowed to take Christmas off beyond the public holidays, only pakis work Christmas.

yes, because money tend to run out.

>We shouldn't support the idea that if the end-product is good it somehow justifies the crunch. it's not a fucking war or slavery we are talking about here, it's a job you are free to leave at any moment, if you can't handle the job find an easier job.
Jonathan Richardson
>firing people who don't do crunch would be horrific. you sound like one of these people who thinks that startups not hiring a 60 year old slow talking boomer who took an IT course is discrimination
Brody Gray
The stories that keep making the news are about games from huge companies that all have vast wealth to fling around (and DO exactly that when it comes to shit like marketing)
Xavier Gutierrez
i think the crunch user worries about is the concept of things 'coming together under pressure at the end' despite being disorganised and ineptly designed through the development, not the long working hours in themselves
William Howard
Yes, we should only hire newly graduates willing to work for peanuts. That will work well. Might as well make it a rule. The second you get a kid, you're fired. The second you have a life outside of work, you're fired.
Isaiah Wright
Schreier is based go fuck yourself cdpr dickrider
Jeremiah Myers
funny thing about human biology, we tend to work better under pressure due to how we evolved with constant feeling of fear gaming industry been in constant crunch state for decades, don't see how this is suddenly a problem
Nathan Nguyen
many times. fuck once he wrote about a meme Yea Forums made up and also said "source in an e-mail" told him this
Jordan Rodriguez
>reeeeeeeeee let billionaires exploit exployees in peace reeeeeeeeee You never fail to disappoint Yea Forums. You really never.
It's just the unemployed slavs, everyone else knows CDPR is an abusive company.
Connor Collins
Clearly this is an industry problem. Leaving one job to go to another dev company with the exact working conditions, a job that's likely only found on a different country no less, results in nothing. Games can be made without abusing the law. I don't have an issue with the concept of crunch or overtime. Sometimes it's a necessity. Something went horribly wrong and double time is needed. Maybe the person wants to work more, why not. But crunch should be a last-resort, not a standard. If you're in charge of planning the development cycle of a game, you shouldn't already be counting on crunch time. You should be planning as much to avoid it.
Cameron Butler
you can work an the accounts or payroll or something at that point. Or be a man and just not let the fact that your wife has a baby change your work habits?? >a life outside work yeah that's fine, live in europe - but you don't get to make the things that change the world and bring joy to millions. you might get to make a very fine handbag or an ornate chair that brings joy to one or two people.

The fuck he has to do for you fucks to have memory longer than a goldfish, murder someone?

Asher Cruz
it's clear
Ryan Taylor
Nobody here gives a fuck about Kotaku or Schreier. I don't know why you faggots keep pushing this over the last few years. Only children care about this crunch culture in highly competitive fields. It's not going anywhere just because some two-bit journalist and a bunch of redditors make a stink about it. These people would be taking their skills elsewhere if they really cared because the video game industry is fucking cancer to work in and the skills are highly transferable to places where you can make a lot more money for a lot less work.
Jonathan Cox
It was a joke, user. That being said, there's also been studies that show that working overtime can have diminishing results or negative. I've had that happen to me. Work throughout the night. Wake up next morning and realize I didn't see some mistake and now I just have to redo all that work again. Plus this industry has an issue with abusing dev's passions. It's why most devs you see seem to disappear off the industry after about a decade or two. Upper management took all their passion, squeezed as much of it as possible, without any care for their well-being, thrown them to the curb when they weren't as passionate as some 18 year old who only knows how to do "hello world"
Camden Peterson
You and I have different definitions of that word.

I wonder which is worse working in video game development, or working in anime production.

CDP is known for having two issues right now: a) Potential litigation with A. Sapkowski, the author of „Witcher” books. No one knows how it will resolve but in the letter sent to CDP Sapkowski’s lawyers indicated that CDP may not have rights to make and distribute „Witcher” games. Still it is not resolved BUT it’s a message that scare off many investors;
b) Terrible working condition. It’s known for a some time since many YouTubers made shittons of videos about it but even so NOTHING has happened. Friend of mine, who is a level designer in some small company told me that everyone tend to avoid working with CDP - it’s a nightmare and everybody in Polish industry (IT market?) knows it. Don’t believe me? Go to CDP webpage and search for „job offers”. It funny since after „Sniper Ghost Warrior 3” failure almost everybody from CI Games was fired, yet CDP (which is located in the same city!) struggle to find people to work on their game.
Most of the time, his leaks are actually pretty solid. Compared to the usual v leaker anyway.
James Martin
Unironically, A friend of mine who used to work with me in a IT project for Pharma corporation has moved to cdpr and is currently doing some basic things in the QA team for Cyberpunk2077. I have spoken to him two weeks ago and he told me that they do indeed have more work but they're all being paid for over hours so he doesn't really mind that. As for >working during polish holidays Lmao, that's a common thing especially if you work in an international environment, but again you get paid double they daily pay and usually you work from home or shit like that. Literally a non fucking issue.
Yeah, didn't he accurately leak out Fallout 4 details? Which is why Bethesda promptly blacklisted Kotaku after that?
Nicholas Nguyen
I've seen some of their stock has been falling with one theory being both Gwent not making its expectations and the lawsuit with the author. But I don't get how the thing with Sapkowski is relevant. We all know the story that he was just a retard in accepting money up-front instead of royalties because he doesn't care about games.
Nolan Barnes
>it's bullshit BUT obey me or else fuck off, commie.
Lincoln Gomez
>a game facing some technical hurdles is now in "development trouble" Nigger dev work is all about problem solving. If problems existing is troubling then you've never worked a day in your life developing anything.

Wyatt Phillips
Speaking of CI Games, what's the gossip in the Polish dev scene about Lords of the Fallen 2? Also, has there been any talk about SGW: Contracts? Contracts seems like the game that could make or break CIG.
Cameron Gutierrez
C'mon user, share us some juicy details. What's the current state of the game, how close to completion is it?
Daniel Parker
What do you mean?
Asher Green
It's almost like Ubisoft's open world design is peerless and literally nobody else comes close. Especially not Rockstar and their shitty hand-holding game design.
Nolan Myers
You want more Lords of the Fallen? That's a first.
Dominic Hughes
I'm asking because CI Games fired Defiant Studios a few days ago. Defiant were making the game. Originally it was being made internally, I think. Then they outsourced it to Defiant. Then they got pissy with Defiant and are making it in-house again with that big Chinese outsource company doing a lot of heavy lifting. But I'm curious about the industry gossip.

Yep, „Gwint” also may be the case, but CDP made a great mistake.
Listen, it is a public company. That means they are obliged to release to public every information about the company. Now the funny part - instead releasing press information that they’ve received a letter from A. Sapkowski stating that not only he wants money but he claims that there may be issue with copyrights they just released WHOLE letter. Have you read it? The Sapkowski lawyers explain (better or worse) why they’re think that those copyright contracts should be declared invalid.
It’s difficult to answer that since I don’t know the company. But on the CI Games website there’s information that after the fiasco of the third Sniper game they fired most of the team and focused on smaller project. Just that.

Imagine if people just decided to stick with 2018 graphics and focus solely on practical shit.
> Rather than take off whenever they’d like, CD Projekt Red’s developers have to limit their vacation to specific times in 2019. One period will be this summer, right after E3, while another will be in the winter.
That's... normal, though? Here in Europe we get 3-4 weeks of vacation and they're usually split equally between summer and winter. Any vacation time you take in-between those two periods cuts INTO said periods so no one wants to do it.
He has actual friends in Bethesda. He leaked Fallout 4 before Bethesda announced it, and then cried and bitched when he got blacklisted.
Ian Myers
no they aren't, wtf is this global bootlicking today.
Noah Green
I think I read it when it was first released. There were a few threads that went into detail about Polish laws. IIRC, there's something in Poland about how, even though he accepted 10k over royalties, since CDPR has made much more money, then the IP holder is allowed to basically force them to pay more, despite the fact that on contract, he originally accepted just the 10k. Which I can see how it protects people from shady deals but I think when Witcher 1 first made it big, they asked him again if he wanted royalties and he still said no. At some point you have to say the IP holder is just retarded.
Isaiah Moore
Wrong, Ubishit is always poorly polished boring trash, RDR2 on the other hand it's game of the gen. Ubishit has no soul
Jaxon Gutierrez
>many YouTubers made shittons of videos about it TRUTH BAD CLICK BAIT GOOD

I meant this archive.is/TbewF This article is from 2013, 2 years before the launch of Fallout 4 and it's very accurate. Jason tweeted that Bethesda hasn't responded to their emails in 4.5 years.

>Friend of mine >DUDE BELIEVE ME Fuck off, tranny.
Crunch generally means your management has failed, though. It's simply the accepted norm in vidya for some reason.
Jackson Cox
I feel your pain user. He didn't explicitly told me when it's going to be out as that would make him lose his job but he gave me a specific look when I said that it's going to be out on 2020.
Jaxson White
>d-dude if I say goy you have to agree with my lazy socialist faggotry Wrong, cry more about "crunch" faggots, I will keep not caring

Lmao, this has to be a bait or you're literally completely retarded. Their formula is so go damn repetitive its not even worth making fun of anymore
Caleb Rodriguez
Dude, not even Satan trust the jew.

This is somehow news? We've known for years that cp2077 development was anything but rosy. >Rather than take off whenever they’d like, CD Projekt Red’s developers have to limit their vacation to specific times in 2019. Ffs, this is how it's done on just about everywhere. If people could take their vacations whenever they wanted they would just take it at the middle of the crunch. Nothing would ever get done.
Julian Morris
americans don't really know what vacation is unless there are extraneous circumstances
Alexander Hall
Yup, I know it since I work in IP law! :) The thing is not as easy as you think. To start with, no one knows how to „use” that Article. Also, there were similar cases in Germany where the IP holders won (look for „Das Boot” case). Since Polish law is based on the German it is relevant to the CDP case.
To be honest I bet that they will settle this somehow without litigation. Sapkowski is just a poor fag who like vodka and fishing. The guy just can’t stand the popularity but also wants morey for more booze. That’s why he wants all those money.
Also his lawyers, well - they want blood. I know the guy behind the letter - it’s clear that he does it for fame.
Tyler Diaz
Also, apparently the map is supposed to be smaller when compared to gta5 but it will compensate with every building having interiors that you can get in and shit
Levi Martin
I’m telling the story from the perspective of my friend who recently graduated from IT studies and due to looking for job in games industry he decided to move out from the capital city to smaller city (Breslau) with smaller opportunities.
Anthony Diaz

pretty sure faggots that make this thread are the same butthurt normies that make star citizen threads
Liam Nelson
The anthem article, the andromeda article and Blizzard.

Yeah I said the same thing. Then again gta5 has lots of empty space anyway. It's ok having a bit of forests and deserts but for cyberpunk having a smaller map with better interiors will work out better imo

>RDR2 on the other hand it's game of the gen. "Game".

Interesting. I wouldn't be surprised either if they just settle for the sake of keeping him quiet. The worst thing the guy can really do is try to somehow get rid of CDPR's rights to use or profit off of Witcher, right?
Caleb Stewart
>Wahh no!!! My favorite studio!!!! ;(

Ubisoft understand that player agency and expression is the most important part of game design. They've come full circle to the design ideas of Clint Hocking in Far Cry 2 and Chaos Theory. Instead of having bullshit set pieces and trying to tell the player this longwinded story, you simply plonk the player into a world and let them tell their own freeform narrative. As the guy in charge of Ubisoft's games once said, "I don't want to be told a story." This is why Rockstar's games are absolute dogshit and Ubisoft's games are sublime.
satan is a retarded fanfiction made by some edgy idiots mixing the bible with greek mythology, but that's just christianity in general literally the sonichu of the ancient world
Even in this letter the Sapkowski’s lawyer proposed to resolve the case „quickly” so „it would make no harm to CDP” which is as shady as it sounds (and infringes the Attorney-at-law code of ethics).
It impossible to tell what the guy can do. In the letter it was stated two things: 1) Sapkowski wants cash because he’s the author and he basically „can” due to use of his rights to make the game, yet…; 2) They claimed that CDP didn’t acquire any right to make the game which is against the above mentioned statement.
This leads us to speculation that if Sapkowski doesn’t get the money "under the table” his lawyers will tend to claim that CDP infringed his rights. Story is interesting because due to Polish law Sapkowski claims may be considered outdated (first game was released in 2007!).
Samuel Reyes
>All these >Still refuse to add third person view Good, burn in hell
the reason why there's so many fedora tippers is because christianity is fanfiction tier incoherent autistic shit and it's way too easy to find errors in it in judaism there's no hell or satan, the entire concept of afterlife is different, christians literally just ripped tartarus from the greek mythology and renamed it, whether you believe in god or not you have to admit that christianity is a fucking garbled mess that's on the level of someone writing the adventures of sonichu in the marvel universe
Grayson Wright
CDPR made a mistake by hiring western roasties and faggots who now run to kotaku to cry and damage company image. Should have stuck to hard working slavs

You're a pedophile if you like her big tits! >"Uh do you even know what lolicon means retard?" >G-GUESS I WAS WRONG, BUT THAT JUST MEANS I'M NOT AS INFORMED WITH PEDOPHILE TRENDS AS THESE PEDOPHILES HAHA That honestly tells me everything I need to know about the guy. Imagine a journalist using a word they don't know, and not, you know, fucking looking into it or doing some research on what it means?
Connor Jackson
>Breslau Are you a German nationalist?
Kayden White
Sorry kurwa, I meant Wrocław
Cooper Ross
Good to know. I'm curious to see how this ends. I'm more willing to believe CDP will win and this is just a case of a drunk old fart who realized he missed out on millions due to retardation and he's bitter that the games did more to the Witcher brand than his own work. Thanks for the insight.
>I have to defend companies overworking their employers. I just have to!
Caleb Perez
Dont pretend like you give a shit, you can google any one from those shitholes like kotaku and polygon and find an endless list of shit they were part of it. Lets not forget their infamous game journo pros secret google group that that fag Milo dug up few years back, 150 people gaming press mafia from all biggest sites that would together make up stories, set narratives or decide on what to write about any day. This alone should discredit everybody involved for life, but since it was discovered when gamer gate was still relevant somehow they menages to hide it under an endless wave of articles about it and nobody cares since people are sheep.
Caleb Cox
No problems, pleasure to talk! Bear in mind that his lawyer really want to become famous. In Polish IP law there’s a group of lawyers enjoying a reputation. He clearly wants to join them which means he will fight to death unlike the CDP which is willing to take some damage just to finish the case.
Nicholas Adams
>lying schreier is at it again

Yeah, this does seem like the kind of case lawyers love since it puts their name on the map.

Indeed! Also Polish law prohibits lawyers from marketing of their services so that guy basically gets free publicity.
Anthony Rodriguez
>mismanagement, crunch, anxiety and turnover
so just like every game CDPR ever made, should be good then
>Get into game development. >Expect to work normal 9-5 hours. Anyone who has worked on any AAA game in the last 30 years has had to do this. Its standard for the industry because generally the pay is really good, and there are sometimes years at a time where you are not working. Sometimes you are "working" but really you are just waiting around for another department to finish what they are doing, so you can do your job.
This isn't anything new or surprising. If you don't want to work crazy ass hours don't work for a software company.
Jaxson Lee
>actually bringing up Goobergate shit and namedropping a hack Does "shill" apply to this?
Samuel Harris
Idiots here think they are based because they have larger white nationalist rallies than the US does.

Not had to, companies abuse it because the small companies of the early 90s had to do so in order to make publisher demands, and so it became the "culture" to have absurd hours often with no overtime pay for months at a time. It's stupid and needless, if companies had decent structuring, but people think "that's how it works", so getting fucked in the ass with no vaseline is perfectly fine.
>no overtime pay When has this happened? What country has no overtime laws? Even if you can cite one, its not going to matter because the video game company does not legislate labor laws, no matter the country. >needless Its not needless. You cannot anticipate every hiccup you are going to have developing software. Especially with video games. And again, this is offset by the fact that there are quite commonly times where you cannot work until another department finishes their work. There is plenty of downtime that happens on the clock in any given company.
I get it, you are probably a teenager with no work experience whatsoever in software development, but try to remember that the real world exists regardless of your viewpoint.
>When has this happened? A number of companies. Tecmo rings to mind first, look up Itagaki's interviews when he got fired. >hurr you must be a child because sensible time structure isn't a thing that exists, so you MUST work employees to death
