Is there anything actually wrong with the Dpad being separate buttons?

unironically better designed then the shitty dpad

Yeah... That's a d-con, because it's connected to a joy-con.

Still better than the Pro Controller D-Pad as-is

suck on deez-cons bitch

meanwhile vitachads get literally the best dpad ever made

and discontinued

yeah i never got that why they call it the d pad

they should call it the plus pad or in this case, the thriangle pad, since there are triangles on the buttons

No, it's clearly superior since it eliminates the possibility of accidental multiple button presses. (Especially if the d-pad is tiny, like on the Gamecube controller.) Only issue I'd have with the Switch's d-pad is the separation is a bit too far between buttons. One thing I'll always give to Sony, the Playstation controllers got this right over a decade ago.

Fuck. I just realize I'm going to have to play MM on this shit unless I want to shell out $90 for a Pro. What the fuck was Nintendo thinking.

I wad thinking of designing some sort of snap-on D-Pad for the switch and selling it. You think people would buy it? Unless someone already has made one.

it's the only way I can play Tetris 99, fuck the pro controller's dpad

d-pad :^)

You stupid retards do realize this was made so they can be used as face buttons when using a single joycon, right?

mk11 plays surprisingly decent on joycon buttons. non-diagonal-input-specials helps a lot

Yes, it makes it really hard to do complex directional inputs because you can't just roll your thumb over.

a real dpad >>>>>>> faggy gimmicks

For the low low price of 1300 dollars

playstation controllers use a normal dpad you fucking idiot

The fuck. You can.

Derped, remove a 0

>90

in what currency is that? you can get a pro for 60usd

good luck pulling off a dragon punch on that thing, faggot

This, the XBox One Dpad comes close with its feedback though so theres at least that, but I hate the concave sticks

$30 if your not a retard and do it yourself

I can't even remember the last time I've used the D-pad for movement.

This is why i dont get why people want REmake and RE4 on switch.

No, it's really really bad for fighting games. I didn't really consider it a problem either until I tried to play DBFZ.

>Is there anything actually wrong with the Dpad being separate buttons?

Most of diagonal movement is done through tilting at an angle, something you cannot do with 4 separate buttons. Instead you have to press two buttons, which is a dramatic step down from the subtle diagonals you can do with a cross that pushes and pulls on multiple buttons by itself.

>I can't even remember the last time I've used the D-pad for movement.

This is the most zoomer comment I've ever seen on Yea Forums, congrats.

And they sell them in singles. All the more reason they should have sold a left joycon with a dpad as an option for people who want it. What would be the harm?
And before anyone links to the Hori one
>no feedback
>handheld only

I never even play my switch in handheld, I like it on my TV. So fuck that noise. Nintendo needs to make an official one that otherwise functions like a regular joycon

+40 for the left joycon itself.

Try to find a 3rd party workaround to use another controller, the D-Pad on the Switch Pro is somehow ass compared to nearly all other D-Pads Nintendo has made.

But you are WRONG retard

>And they sell them in singles.

No they don't

PS4's dualshock is essentially a D-Pad, but since they made it to look like separate buttons it helps you to not accidentally press the button you don't want.

DS4's Dpad is like a mix between the traditional DPad and Switch's DPad.
