Pangya, even if you're not normally into golf or waifus, it's just fun
Key of Heaven for GOAT wuxia gameplay, you create-a-combo from loads of moves and boomerang your sword about, great ost and plot too
Rengoku because you can equip an axe for a head (or an arm) and headbutt people, or a revolver (think those can go in your torso too) whatever floats your boat
The BOF3 port.
>lurking thread for suggestions
any decent translations of games that aren't/weren't mainstream?
image is a suggestion from another user from a past thread
inb4 weebshit.
Motorstorm.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Bricking in the first month and wasting $350
Dissidia Duodecim
Best fighter on the platform, and arguably one of the best 3D arena fighters.
Quintessentially PS Vita
Metal Gear Ac!d 1 and 2
Never bricked mine when trying to get custom firmware. I got all the games, very fun..
Only if you're retarded
Trails in the Sky and Valkyrie Profile
I only ever used mine as a SNES emulator. I also had some airplane game that I can't remember the name of. It was fun.
Disgaea 1 and 2.
Gradius Collection.
Parodius Collection.
This, OP
I also recall playing lots of Tekken and GTA Vice City.
Did you play Socom Fireteam Bravo or MGS Portable Ops Plus? Those were my two favorite games during the peak of the PSP.
>Socom Fireteam Bravo
Good God that is a name I haven't heard in a long time. Yes user, yes I did. I remember being trash at it but having a lot of fun trial and erroring my way to success. I never got to play MGS Portable though.
I’m not playing Fate shit Fuck Off
This is the best game available on the PSP.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.
These
Also Ys Seven and Persona 3 Portable
You could also try Need For Speed Carbon: Own The City. I'm not sure if it's still worth playing these days but I remember it being fun.
Custom firmware and every JRPG on ps1, every prior console emulators and some ISOs of the three only good game on psp.
Brandish the Dark Revenant
FFT WOTL
Tactics Ogre
Wipeout
Burnout Legends
Patapon 1-3
Locoroco 1 & 2
SNES emulator
GBA emulator
What are some good turn based games?
I'm emulating on my phone, so quick reaction and precise controls games don't really work all that well.
>when giles is a total bro in the game but then you look up the shit he did irl
There's a decent selection of JRPGs on the platform, take your pick. I'm a big fan of Trails in the Sky.
Jean D'arc.
You'll thank me later.
Trails is *much* better played on PC, but otherwise you're right.
Sure, I'd vastly prefer to play it on PC too, but if you're desperate for a good turn based game on the go, you could do worse.
Patapon series is great.
Not essential, but I've been enjoying Yggdra Union, Syphon Filter entries, and R-Type Tactics on it as well.
they shouldn't have stopped making the PSP, though i use it more for music then gaming now, mostly since i forgot my psn stuff for the account i had on it and can't redownload dissada duodeciun, even with that BS fake feral chaos keeping me from finishing
Peace Walker is PSP kino
At least hacked, the Vita is objectively better. Only took 8 goddamn years.
GTA Vice City Stories
GTA Liberty City Stories
the only thing i was tempted to hack for in that game was cloud's KH outfit so i could have that and sephiroth's I'd use AR if it was still any good rather just being power saves now
PSP is a monster hunter/rhythm game/puzzle machine.
Throw MHFU, Lumines and DJ Max on it before even considering anything else.
Goood shit right here
It's better on platforms with analog sticks.
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is a must. Not only do you get a remake of Rondo of Blood, you get the original Rondo with an English translation, and Symphony of the Night with a re-worked script and new voice overs
Tactics Ogre and FFT are essential
Final Fantasy Tactics is so much better than Tactics Ogre rofl
Good list. Don’t forget Dissidia Duodecim 012
Nah TO is way better. FFT has way less units per battle and is much shorter. TO has a more interesting zodiac system, and without spoiling anything for people who plan on playing it the endgame is top tier too. Literally the only problem is that archers are too strong.
These + Crisis Core.
No way, Final Fantasy Tactics is literally the best game ever made. Gotta love the horrible production values of Tactics Ogre and the same cringey death sounds of every male unit. OOOOGAAAHH
Crisis Core is okay, but certainly not essential. Butchers the FF7 canon, very basic mini games and story, pacing. Only redeemable points are decent gameplay and good music
Burnout Dominator
Crush
Coded Arms
DJmax 2
Killzone Liberation
Lumines
Metal Gear Acid 2
Neverland Card Battles
No Heroes Allowed
Pac-Man Championship Edition
Rengoku 2
Space Invaders Extreme
THUG2
Ultimate Ghosts'n Goblins Kai
Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force Special
I don't know why we're arguing honestly, they're two of the best games ever made (probably my top two) and their positions are arbitrary. You're right that FFT has better production values, but I like the art and direction TO more personally. I prefer Knight of Lodis to the Tactics Advance games too, but they're all absolutely worth playing.
That’s fair, my dude. They are both masterpieces, honestly. Best wishes to you, my fellow SRPG friend. Disgaea is great too!
Jeane De' Arc
Tom Clancy's Endwar
Brave Story
Persona 3 Portable for best girl.
Knights in the Nightmare.
It's a clusterfuck at first but give it a honest try. The game is oozing with atmosphere, too, and the story is legitimately pretty fucking great.
FFT is really good but honestly I wish the game had the sheer amount of content and replay value LUCT does
Running silly builds and shitty community patches only gets you so far
shitty quality due to 2007 youtube, but you need to try this. it's a gateway into the crazy world of rhythm games. very accessible but gets tough later on.
Ace Combat X
MHFU
Patapon
Tactics Ogre
Armored Core 3/SL/LR Portable (change the control scheme to something less shitty though)
How about PS1 games?
Just so I can throw that into my Vita.
FF7-9, FFT, FF chronicles, FF anthology, MGS1, Tactics Ogre, symphony of the night, soul reaver, RE1-3, SH1, Dino Crisis, Suikoden 2
Diablo
Gungage
Ray Tracers
Tall Infinity
Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits

How the fuck do you get through the anti-piracy measures for the DJMAX games?
What do you mean anti piracy? Did you drop an iso into an unmodded PSP or something?
Believe I only ever got 2 and 3 to work correctly. Downloaded em from Sony's servers to make em work, pkjgj or nopaystation. The rest would desync and sound like shit as you played.
>Diablo on PSP.
Hmmm... that might work great. I think a smaller screen would help the extreme low res.
DJ Max Portable 1 was always my go-to, but I was running CFW. I literally just dropped the ISO onto my memory card and was good to go, put easily over 100 hours in with zero sync issues.
There was this one PSP Red-Alert styled turnbased game I played, I'll look for it for you.
The res never bothered me, but the jerkiness of animations did. You can increase the Game Speed in the options to make it fairly unnoticable though, the increase in walk speed makes it all the more better too. Loading screens are fucking long though so frameskip that shit if you can.
Found the game, it's called Field Commander. Although it doesn't look as good as I remembered it.
DJ MAX BROS
Friendly reminder that Trilogy on PC had it's drm cracked ages ago, dozens of hours of fun to be had if you don't mind playing on keyboard
