Is my game bugged? Whenever my employees lose a weapon/armor via dying and I restart the day that weapon/armor is removed from my list of EGO equipment.

On that note, is pic related a game ender? I fucking forgot to get the ticket one (1) time and it annihilated like half my facility. When I went to restart the day all of my best equipment is lost and I don't know if I can take on green noon ordeals and the like without someone dying given how gimped my forces are now.

I'm planning on restarting if neglecting to micromanage this stupid fucking abnormality will shaft me like this every goddamn time.

Yes, at least one I've picked up (meat lantern) will go berserk if you research it too fast. As far as abnormalities go he's relatively tame and just sits stationary somewhere, but if he spawns outside the door of an abnormality you have an employee working on it's a guaranteed death for that employee.

You can enhance them later, but you should be mainly training their stats, especially Justice.

How can you enhance them?

I'm asking primarily because I have a crumbling armor buff on the entirety of one of my teams and want to raise their attachment scores. Don't want to try and go for the 5% chance of working on an abnormality that will replace the buff for each of them as well so I can train the stat.

Black Swan is pretty easy for a WAW, just get black resist and never let the counter drop
You can improve the stats after you hire them. stil training is far better
Some abnormalities have some annoying stats requiriments like the Singing machine. Dont try to powerlevel everybody to V, have a good team of EX agents for the more nasty works like some of the WAW and ALEPH

Wait, why though? It gives +20 attack and movement speed, and its health debuff lowers your fortitude so you can regain it by training instinct. My units with the buff are juggernauts with 100~ health that run like the wind with an attack speed a level above anything my other teams can manage.

Just you can't have them work on abnormalities that require attachment is all.

He marks a target and only faces that direction until target switches.

As soon as you have the desired temperance you can get that sweet Justice boost.
Temperance doesn't need to be maxed out. On the other hand not everyone needs that armor head gift. Only your main fighters.

In what I found a lot of abnormalities needed attachment so I couldn't imagine having more than one or two with the buff

I take it it's your first run? Everything is good if you got the Crumbling Armor's gear. It becomes pain in later runs if your employees are barred from type of works.

I'm admittedly not that far into the game (day 16) but as far as abnormalities go the crumbling armor buff reliably gives a gift that seems far more potent compared to other abnormalities.

Just pick a department, like your security, slap the buff on them and rely on all the other departments for attachment work. When a bad ordeal drops watch it get wiped out by your awesome security team.

Really? How far are you into the game? I've got 15 employees at this point with 20 on the horizon. I've found that 10 is far more than enough to handle any attachment work that needs to be done.

Huh, as it stands I've admittedly have no abnormalities that require attachment work. It's actually a little problematic as I need to train it for my other employees.

But have you really found that you need 20+ employees doing attachment work at once?

There's a orange-striped looking button to the left of your employee during deployment that says something along the lines of "reinforce current employee", with that you can spend LOB to fix stats

You might be responding to the other guy, I love crumbling armor. The HP debuff worried me until I realized it lowers your fortitude correspondingly and that you could train it again to remove the debuff. So the only real downside is no attachment work on abnormalities.

And yeah, at this point I only slap someone on CA if a meltdown makes it a requirement. But then I do the same with most the abnormalities I don't need the gifts from.

Sometimes, I stop by these threads to see what the fuck the game is about, but every time, I come out more confused.

You're sure you're actually just retrying the day and not memory repoing, right? Only memory repos do what you're describing. If you just retry, then you should return to the exact way you started the day. What you do in the assignment screen is saved with retries, but if you repo back, it reverses back to the assignment state at the start of the day before you did anything at all.

I noticed the stats seem a little randomized, like I have one two units of level 3 fortitude where one has 20+ hp more than the other.

Need a morale booster when you're handling breached abnormalities and ordeals all day.

Ah yes. No one is better for morality boost than a suicidal who doesn't want to be here.

The stats aren't set in stone. Level is nothing, but an indicator of what range that employee's stats are in as well as being a measurement for work requirements. If a character with level 2 Fortitude has like 35, if he trains up to like 45, he'll still be level 2 in Fortitude.

Also the LOB reinforcement is slightly randomized it gives with its levelups. They are best on employees who are at the minimum for their current stat rank or close to it. Sometimes you'll barely hit the next minimum, other times you'll be close to the rank above it. Anyways, you have to purposefully train stats beyond level 5.

One tip I rarely see people giving that I consider invaluable is what to spend your PE boxes on when you're researching a new monster.
I think the management tips are the best bet, they'll often tell you how not to trigger an instant-death scenario.

You dont have to do the missions on the day you receive them. The game can fuck you up with the rng so sometimes you have to either get stronger or start from Day 1.

You need an high level employee with good red damage resistance that roams her hallway where her chamber is. Then she usually targets him.
Use red bullets on him to tank the damage while the rest shoots her from afar.

When her counter is 1 you could hire her and make her go against the newly escaped abnormality.

If you cant deal with the mission, get stronger. The game is not expected to be completed on the first run and you have easier time doing the mission in the rerun and most likely do it as early as it's available again when you can get more and stronger equipments and can avoid troublesome abnormals.

Blue star and smiling bodies are some of the easiest ALEPHs in the game.
Blue star is a good boy who doesn't breach unless you fuck up, smiling bodies is easy to suppress if you don't let it go out of control.

You had to pay for the performance. Duh.

The idea is unique enough that everyone would welcome another game like that though

About the Fat Fuck Green Fairy thing, if I put someone to work on it, am I locked into being only able to work on it for the whole day or what? How does it work exactly? Don't wanna kill my employees.

The faeries only last a few seconds. After that, you can send them to work on something else.

Fair warning though, unlike Laetitia or Child of Galaxy, faeries will kill you as soon as you issue an order, as opposed to when you enter a containment unit. Even if the game is paused when you issue the order, and you cancel it before you unpause, they employee will still die.

So you level up stats by doing work right? How do I know when a stat is leveled up during a day or is it only when the day is done? Is there an optimal amount of work to do? CAn I get level 4 temperance by spamming One Sin on day one?

There's a mod for showing xp values.
Stat gain is based on anomaly level, not sure about other factors, so it would take a ton more grinding on One Sin compared to say, Porccubus for temperance grinding.

It sure would take a bit though. The better a Work affinity and the higher tier the abnormality, the more they get out of it.
Plus, using Training team's growth bonus if its abnormalities are mostly benign means you can do inter-department work with them and level up their skills faster, too - good for when you're focusing on the groups down south and want better returns for smaller amounts of work.

wait for 2nd phase
trigger the clock if you have it (you should, and prepare it before she spawns)
this clears the meltdown of waves and the others if she spawns them
zerg her down again
pillar phase you can either pause again or try to micro it like that. she's only fully immune while she's charging up pillars, so you can basically kill her with a single aleph geared person, if you don't have any facility wipes in your roster (I had whitenight and hid my MVP in the shelter so she wouldn't get apostle'd. then I got out after everything was roaming anyway, and beat her 1v1)

You level a stat by doing work. Red work means red stats, white work means white stat, etc.
And no, you don't know how much you've level until you clicked on end day and looked at the result screen. However the higher risk level an abnormality is the more experience you'll get from work, and generally you would like to rush grind on HE or higher by tanking your low level employee with the right resistance uniform.

I have the button but I'm definitely not misclicking on that. What's going on? The problem abnormalities are the big bad wolf, the red shoes, and ppodae.

So apparently a handful of black HE weapons and my only 2 pales are enough to handle SO, all the posting about him made me scared but just crumble katana and justitia is enough to bring him to almost 50% before black phase. Are all the Alephs roughly around his difficulty? The only other one I got before this was the heart one with legs on day 17 or so and he just mass killed everyone but maybe I could handle suppressing him now(?)

the main problem with SO is he drains your energy, suppression wise he isn't bad at all compared to blue star, nothing there, whitenight, or army in pink

Pales are good no matter what and are actually BETTER when used against stronger foes, that's why there's like only 4 or 5 pale weapons you can get
SO also doesnt really directly fuck your men up as much, go try to pull the same shit against nothing there or Blue Star and see how many of your men survive.

Being able to understand and have fun with a management sim is probably the most important factor, as things get more crazy the deeper down you go, with abnorms that require more focus and others that will kill your men easily if left unchecked.
The appeal is going in blind, since you have a retry button regardless, using a wiki isn't needed so you can experience the fucked up things that occur if you mess up.

So far I'm liking it, even if management sims aren't exactly my cup of tea.

SO's main problem is that he's a time waster that requires you to go for a normal, since both good and bad decrease his counter. He kills clerks dead while breaching and forces you to waste time fighting him.
Not helped by the fact that his gift when combined with his suit can nullify white, so if you want not not worry about white you have to work on him multiple times.

Information Team and Green Midnight + Bunker if you wanna cheese, otherwise getting him in anywhere that's not Central is pretty good, use a lot of ranged gigachads and micro your guys through elevators/doors to dodge the AOE pale (bullets work too). But make sure to kill the scythe guys that surround him, and you can pretty much ignore the rest of them as they walk around the facility killing all your clerks
