should we tell him?

>would love more levels
well do i have a deal for you!

nah, he's fage

What's a good wad to play. TNT, plutonia, and master levels kina suck. Scythe 2 is good tho

I understand there is a few unofficial pirate mods out there made with unauthorized tools designed to be played on hacky reverse engineered clients but I mean something that makes them specifically for the original dos client supported by ID

>a few

There is a massive library of mods for Doom, going in greater depth and made with greater ease than any tool id could make this late in the game
It's one of the most prolific mod scenes on PC. You would literally have decades of WADs ahead of you if you were to play what's out there

nigga wat.

>"why aren't there more Doom mods?"

imagine being this much of a brainwashed pay pig
The only reason a game as great as Doom was able to be made was because games were sold pretty much physical only back then yet you want to give them a $60 glorified donation for digital distribution which is the cancer that killed gaming.

Several releases have shipped with just that, user. The same tools the devs used made many of the famous wads back in the day.

Today we have better and Id knows fans are covered.

Nigga, John Romero literally released the source code for the tools they used to make the game. Turns out, those tools are so dated, all fanmade tools are miles better, so much so, that he himself says you should use Doom Builder instead of the shitty DoomEd he used to make the game.

Also, if random generation is your thing, try this for unlimited levels: oblige.sourceforge.net/

Who the fuck is that? I want to turn her asshole into an anal cunt

{Thou}

user, Doom and Doom 2 are almost open source software at this point and Carmack said that he is happy if you play a "pirated" copy of his games more than 20 years later after the original release.

But I own all three games on steam and GOG plus boxed sets with the disks

what made Snapmap such a flop compared to the thousands of doom WADS of classic doom?

doom.fandom.com/wiki/SnapMap
?

Then Carmack is not happy.

It's a couple of orders of magnitude more limited. You can't even create custom geometry, you need to use prefab rooms, kek

Not able to do anywhere near as much with it much much too limited but Beth is a bunch of source horders so snapmaps source will never be released

Carmack would have an orgasm if he knew how many copies of doom I pirated hmmmmmm

this seems like a trend with modern games. Is there anything comparable to, say, Hammer editor for a modern title? Slapping together prefabs is the best we ever seem to get nowadays. At least Crytek released the actual editor used by their level designers, which you could use to make total conversion mods for Crysis. Those were fun times.

>own
>steam and GOG
"owning" a license to download doesn't count

I own the disk copies too oh muh purist

Play sigil
