Played six hours of BL2 with my brother today. Pyro Krieg is a fucking monster, but I'm pretty sure the game's balancing is also pretty whack. Excited to reach the end of his skill tree tonight or tomorrow since his character feels fucking great to play lighting fuckers up and breathing fire. It's been fun, but god damn is there simply too much dialogue, the loot treadmill feels a little lack-luster with how few treasure chests there are, and the ice tundra areas are just fucking boring. I really don't know why the keep going for these open areas when the game works so much better in big, more dungeon-oriented zones.

Otherwise though I need to bounce back to Metal Max Returns some time, make a bit of progress on Granblue, and I've kinda got an itch to finally start Gurumin.

I don't like archery because I'm bad at it, but because it's not something that is cool to me. I like plate armor and heavy weapons. I'm thinking of rolling Mystic Knight for that big shield and a mace.

its saturday mornan here in straya. i just downloaded mh world yesterday.
is the combat in mh world supposed to feel this clunky and dumb? the monsters just kind of stand there. i've only played the first few quests, but the little enemies seem really dumb, and that big jagras or whatever was SO tedious. i chased him through like 4 areas smacking him for 20 fucking minutes until he finally died.
am i missing something? the game is SO popular, but it just seemed kind of shitty to me. when the monsters fall over, can i do a special attack or something? i know you can jump on their backs but i think i missed that part of the tutorial, because i dont know how to do it.
the world, the way you build armor from dead monsters, and the graphics are all very cool, but the actual fighting part of the game feels really janky. is the whole game like this? what am i not getting?

Super stressed, programming professor is being a dick with my grading and while I bungled a lot of it and got my grade down to an sorry state, he's pushing me on a fail due to claims of plagiarism (which I have ways of proving wrong), but then he's flip-flopping and saying that he never took points off of them for that reason, which oddly enough was only after I was able to prove one of them wrong, thus leaving me with point deductions I can't earn back.
tl;dr I'm basically set to fail due to inconsistent bullshit and I might need to take this up with the board so I don't get lobbed into a retake that fucks with graduation plans. Worst part if I literally need 10 points added back to one of the projects for me to be on passing grade. It'll tank my GPA but I ain't retaking this shit

Try a different weapon. When you get good you can stagger monsters and keep them from fleeing. Mounting just requires you to jump attack, but it won't happen every time.

Yes. We've already got a 2 year old daughter. Hoping to get a son this time and complete the set.

The first 3 (1 and the 2 duology) are really different not only from 3, 4, and 5 but also each other; 1 is way different from 2. They're good games, definitely not bad like some say they are, and If you know what to expect I'd say go ahead and start with 1, but to get a better grasp on the current state of the series I'd play either 3 or 5. I don't recommend 4 only because I personally don't like it much, most people do like it and it's objectively not a bad place to start either.

I adore DD. You just barely got to the main game, the escort of the cart was the end of the tutorial. Every vocation but Mage is fun, but if you dislike archery then I'd say go for Fighter or Sorcerer, maybe a Strider that focuses on melee/climbing monsters. Warrior is very fun but weak compared to the other vocations, and Mystic Knight has too much going on for a new player.
Nice, I'll probably check it in theaters. That and Godzilla are actually bringing me to my local cinema this month. (Pikachu and Brightburn look okay but not enough to spend much).

Did you get a PS2 fat or slim? Because slims are much more reliable than fats in terms of the disc drive. Though if you have a fat PS2, you can get a FreeMcBoot card as well as a SATA hard drive adapter and 3.5" drive to match, and you're set for life. Literally able to load any game onto it and it's slightly faster than disc loading. Though you already bought the PS3 so keep my advice in mind only if you end up getting a YLOD or something
Also while I'm here, I recommend checking out Soul Nomad, the Ace Combat trinity, Xenosaga, Everblue 2, and Silent Scope (which supports a USB mouse to alleviate the lack of a light gun, though I dunno how/if that works on PS3 too)
It's honestly pretty good. Gameplay can be weird, like if you have a PS4 I suggest playing the demo, as it's a rather odd mix of ARPG and DRPG that can feel super clunky to some. The story is super good though, and gives sincere and genuine character backstories that manage to be darker than the entire Danganronpa trilogy and UDG combined

I then told her that I felt it was really cruel to just cut me out like that without even telling me why, and asked her why she did it, and I never got a response, so I stopped talking to her. It's not a pure strategy game, when I say it's like Worms I mean it's side on and you actually aim the shots before firing. It's got the nu-XCOM two part turn thing, equipment customisation, classes and half/full cover thing going on but nothing that'll give you a headache. It's pretty arcadey actually, perfect for short bursts

Slim, both times. The first only worked for a couple months after I bought it and the second came broken.
Already bought Xenosaga Ep. 1 last year for $10, an absolute fucking steal. Couldn't play it though because PS2 was broken. Also got every PS2 SMT game, MonHun, SotC, and GTA San Andreas.

IIRC that's only a solution for one of the common issues that can happen with the disc drive. The other, which happened to my previous one and appears to be happening again with this new one, costs more to repair than the system is worth.
