Great game. The difficulty isn't bullshit, it's just really deliberate and good level design. I like it more than Mario 1. I've beaten it over 8 times, I like Mario and luigi about the same, they both have their advantages.

It is my favorite Mario game of all. I love how instead of having really reliable footholds, the levels are more like rough obstacle courses that don't feel quite "natural", they challenge you and require lateral thinking. It's just a really satisfying experience when you finally beat the levels and I think it has some of their more clever design. Its the incongruity I love, the feeling that the mechanics are really experimented with and pushed to their breaking point. Its gnarly, and raw, as opposed to refined and safe.
