I like Shantae GBC and PC, after the Game Boy game the series basically became the the Kirby of Metroidvania games.

the series has potential with transformations and it's fun characters (yes I don't just mean their tummies, tits and ass), and I did finish PC and half-genie hero, but the game's just don't have good level design, and shantae's moveset is way too simple, transformations need to add more moves and be useful in more situations than just traversal, and shantae herself needs more combat and movement options.

I never said that I liked Shantae though.

I wish they kept this artstyle for the newer game

They really need to make transformations more fluid. Going from one transformation straight to another, transforming in mid-air or during movement.
They were going the right track in PC by making all of the Risky items integrate with Shantae's moveset and expand it, with some of them even unlocking moves for the other items. But then HGH comes out and it's back to the stop to transform every 2 seconds crap that breaks any gameplay flow it might have.
Also, PC had better artstyle than HGH. HGH graphics with PC-era portraits would be fucking kino.

They're a good mix of solid (but not groundbreaking) platform gameplay, great music and art, a fun cast, and hilarious writing.

They’re fine, fun and clever writing but not very difficult. Basically baby’s first platformer series, but I wish the new game solves some of the pace-breaking issues which usually plague these games.
