They are soft locking pictures from being found in the booru by searching their old tags. There are over 200 pictures of Mei from Overwatch and now only 30 of them appear when searching for her. This includes searching for her by clicking the old tag because the alias forces it to the new one, and our moderation rights don't allow us to remove aliases. Now the tags have to be manually fixed for each picture and I can't even search for them specifically to fix them. I'll try to work on the affected tags someday.

I haven't been making aliases and I knew that like a day after I got mod on the booru. I had to retag over 400 things by now with BDF's tag and some Nier stuff due to it (I still haven't fixed 2B's tag, only all the other characters). You can still search the old tag though, just add a colon before the original tag.

It's fine, it's not really talked about too much. The issue really needs to be fixed though, I didn't do all of it yet as it's just obnoxious going through pages of old tags to fix (you don't even need to change the tag itself by the way, as long as the tag field is edited at all the old tag will auto-convert to the new one).
