Literally all they had to do was makeSMT with Fire Emblem's gameplay and game would've been a success.

This shit managed to piss off almost every single person that could've been interested in it.
FE and SMT fans were pissed that it's idolshit and the few people that were still willing to give it a chance after the kowashitai trailer were pissed at the censorship later on, it's like they were trying as hard as they could to make this shit dead on arrival.

But neither Fatlus or IS wanted do a SRPG. On top of that the game have very little to do with SMT.

I played a bit of it on CEMU. The combat is pretty good and the dungeons are great but the characters and cutscenes make me want to fall asleep. It's the most generic, boring plot and cast imaginable. And unfortunately being an Atlus game, you can skip them the best you can do is hold a button to fast forward them so it's pretty frustrating.

Yeah, well no shit. It got announced as an SMT x FE crossover literally showing characters from both series, then it shows up as a completely diffferent thing with a generic idolshit plot. Then anyone who was still a little bit remotely interested in the game got shot down when the game got censored to hell and back.

Considering it was made by the Devil Survivor team, they were definitely planning to make it an SRPG at first and then quickly changed their minds.

Hey, I could have done without the idolshit too and I still would've wanted a real game. But as soon as you come to terms and accept it for what it is then it's pretty decent.
