Cool cutscenes with a serious atmosphere that lead into gameplay of you smacking people with street cones and breakdancing their faces into walls
You're in for a serious story with everything else outside of it not being serious at all.
The most un-serious things animated in the most serious way possible. You can't help but feel badass.
what does pokemon have to do with yakuza?
extreme tonal whiplash
Kino
Feeling like a badass for beating up lots of guys with ease. They don't really fight back and mostly wait to be hit and you can heal anytime so there's not really any challenge. But you get to beat them all up so it feels good. A very alpha game.
FUN and kino.
giants
Hes talking about smoking weed
A fucking great game. Sit back and enjoy yourself, user.
that guy looks like his head was mashed to pieces, then put together only some of the pieces didnt fit together any more so they just, like, improvised. he probably fucks like a champ tho
Poke is hawaiian not japanese.
guy is one of those bad-guy dudes in a 80s kids adventure movie who bites the electrical cables that power the rec center theyre trying to save
He's from Kiwami, not 0.
>ok kaz, goro, just sort of look blankly at the camera
poke means 'to poke' and 'mon' means man
Mahjong guy from the other thread, thanks Moose for the consideration but didn't see it till now but I knew that and got that shit.
Did the Kamurocho tourney without cheating, used the peerless tiles on another hard table and the Sotenbori Cup, ezpz.
>oi oi chotto
Finished it the other day. Very good game, put like 70 hours into it. Taking a little break playing other stuff before I get into Kiwami.
Even the Yakuza aren't that hardcore
These games make me fucking hungry
i loved the cabaret club in 0 but it's kind of crappy that they pretty much copy-pasted it wholesale into kiwami 2.
An absolutely long fucking story that drags on more than it should, otherwise good game.
Would you?
i still don't understand the chain of events that led to majima doing that
also, spoilers in a 0 thread. tsk

I know casuals consume them whole and then get burned out on all the exposition but I treat those games more like a hang out in the game world and once I'm up for more drame, tv series style, I advance the stories.
I’m not buff or tough
The type of humor from the side missions made me feel like I was losing brain cells after a while
DAME DA NE
If it's your first Yakuza, you're in for ruining your experience of any future Yakuza you decide to play since nothing will hold a candle to 0.
to be fair we still haven't worked out how to communicate 'ok it's safe for you you to go play Space Harrier or help the guy who shat his pants or whatever, you can come back to the plot when you're ready' to the player without breaking kayfabe. i could easily imagine someone missing like 75% of the substories simply because they didn't know they could safely ignore the plot marker saying OH FUCK SHITS ON FIRE.
>What am I in for?
kino
it's kinda hard to explain why I love Yakuza so just have this gif
Why is Kiwami 2 so easy?
I played through the entire game just now, beat every boss, every coliseum, and all 4 Amons on hard without ever dying once to anything.
Like, not even in a bragging kind of way "lul it so easy fukin casuls", it genuinely was not a challenge in any way. Every fight all I did was square square square square triangle triangle, didn't even need to dodge enemy attacks because they did pitiful damage.
Meanwhile in 0 and K1 I was getting my shit pushed in on Hard, had to retry a number of bosses, and the ones I didn't die to at least usually took me a while to kill due to having to dodge/block all their shit or have them hit me for half of my HP in one hit.
Like I genuinely don't get it. Breezed through all the Amon's in K2, while with K1's Amon I was literally sweating fucking bullets trying to not get raped as he hits mach speed in phase 2.
The hell is wrong with this games difficulty? Is the PC release bugged and flipped Easy with Hard or something? I honestly can't imagine how playing on something under Hard would be like since Hard was already auto-pilot.
because kiryu is a morally- and physically-flawless mary sue, and the plot for his games are 'kiryu gets swept up in events out of his control that happen around him'
but in spite of this, there's no cold-hearted world-weary cynicism. like, at all. i think people respond well to that, contrary to what the western crime-game company might think
maybe you're just good at Yakuza video games, after having finished 0 and K1 inside and out.
True, just yesterday, I saw some streamer do a sponsored showcase of Kiwami 2 and it took the chat, from what I could tell, I don't read that shit, hours to convince the guy to stop running after the marker, while he was asking frequently, when all the mini game shit is available.
>and all 4 Amons on hard without ever dying once to anything.
I don't believe you for a second simply because of Jiro and Sango, particularly Sango since several of his attacks one-shot you from full health and happen to you mid-combo. K1 was also a Tiger Drop/weapon abuse fight because it was unmanageable legitimately whereas the K2 fights don't need to be cheesed.
I think the stories themselves are pretty dark though, with everyone, besides Kiryu and to an extend Majima. getting the bullet if they fuck up morally even once.
Fucking hell
how is that fair
No, as I said I deliberately had to dodge/block everything in 0/K1 (and spam healing items like a madman), while I just facetanked everything in K2 and only ever healed mid-fight on like, two occasions, one of them being the final Amon because I was just running around like a retard thinking his shield would drop but it never did. Things in K2 just don't do damage for some reason.
They never did any one-hit attacks to me.
The first 3 fights all basically took under a minute each because my heat actions would take huge chunks of their HP at a time.
a lot of cutscenes
decent story
boring combat unless you want to grind side stuff for upgrades
pretty shitty boss fights outside of a handful
like a 6/10
You might start to feel worried that the game is mostly reading conversations while blank faced character models stare lifelessly at each other, as well as the same very unchallenging and unvaried fights against the same enemies over and over again, but sometimes you get to do something whacky like and you'll briefly forget how dull it really is
When you're finished, you'll remember the highlights and forget how much boring stuff you did and come out with a positive impression. And then you might buy another one, but that would be a mistake.
>Extremely shallow and repetitive combat
>Hours upon hours of dialogue and cutscenes, literally a movie game.
>Alright story hidden beneath all the padding and boring shit.
Also if you want all content you have to do the garbage real estate and cabaret stuff which is really bad, like mobile game tier bad.
>cabaret
>bad
Lowest IQ post to have ever been made in a Yakuza thread
Amon's not really meant to be fair but all four of them in K2 can be done without Extreme Heat or cheesing of any kind, though you will need to heal on cases like Jiro and Jo because they just deal unreasonable damage and you're expected to by the looks of things. For that specific attack the way you deal with it is roughly every three or four hits you will get bounce blocked and then he'll do the dodge roll retaliation. If you break his guard on the fourth hit or if you come at him from the back it prevents him from doing it. The only one that deals higher than them is Ishin's Amon who can one-shot you but you have to force that, and a single slash of his does a third of your health and he attacks quickly.
>They never did any one-hit attacks to me.
How? Unless you were spamming Tauriners and weapon Heat Actions Sango will do the dodge roll shot after about four hits, and if he blocks he will always do it. Jiro spam his shots at you, Jo has two phases where he can one-shot you with certain moves that are relatively common, the first brother is the only one that doesn't really have something like that, he was way harder in OG 2.
However, you're right in that it's easier in general but that's more because you have so many options at your disposal like physics, kicking people away, grabs clearing the area around you, constant supplies of street weapons, etc so it makes fights generally easier. I'm not saying you're wrong at all with that, I just don't get how the Amons didn't one-shot you.
It’s so fucking boring and shallow. Why anyone would grind that shit is beyond me.
Don’t even get me started on the special training missions or what the hell they are called.
well yeah but that's, like, a basic foundational thing you'd need for a satisfying Japanese gangster story.
my point is that despite this, kiryu is an upstanding morally-pure guy. canonically a virgin who has never killed a man in his life because they all do that 'grabbing their gut with one hand, saying ouch and running away' thing. it's silly from a real-life point of view but the game just rolls with it.
like the supernatural parts of metal gear solid, snake isn't all 'whooooa what the fuuuuuck?' he's all 'colonel how do i defeat the guy who shoots bees like a machine gun'
Cabaret is fucking fun, it's basic but a fun game which lets you imagine being a literal pimp.
I finished it the other day while only having completed like 50% of the side content.
I have no desire to ever play it again or the sequels
>literal pimp
cabaret is pure, you turd. you imbecile
A lot of good action with best boy Majima.
it gives you free money also
What is the fun in it? Also having to spend 3 minutes on a round is a huge grind.
This
It makes you feel alpha and imagine what it would be like to talk to girls
>How?
I dunno, that's why feel like my game/the PC release must've been bugged.
Nothing of what's in your webm happened to me. I didn't have to use a single healing item or heat item against the one behind Serena. Pretty sure he literally didn't even do damage to me.
I just chained heat actions on him until he died.
I genuinely feel like they swapped Easy and Hard on PC or something.
Is there a way to rematch the Amon's outside of the Colosseum to record a webm of it?
Unless the Colosseum ones have the same HP, then I could just go and hit those to record.
>free money
>you have to work for it
Isn't he a judo master or something, that probably isn't too far from the truth. He's been dropped on his head his entire life.
I honestly can't objectively tell you what I found so fun in it, I guess it's just the overall feel of the entire thing, your hot bitches bowing down to people, money raining down and Majima being a fucking classy badass. It just made me feel good playing it.
It's pimpin' and it ain't easy
>shit is over in 5 minutes
>walk out with 4 billions if you're not a fucking retard
wow
Colosseum ones have the same HP so you can give them a go. I want to say I am on Legend just to let you know, but there is no drastic difference between Hard and Legend and certainly not one where they're always active on Legend but not on Hard, it's basically just a slightly higher health/damage increase and they're ever so slightly more active. It's more noticeable on mooks than anything. I don't believe that has anything to do with our differing experiences at all. The differences would be negligible at best.
You have to spend hours grinding before you get anywhere near that.
cabaret is a cookie clicker game wrapped in a really really enjoyable shell, and it gives you just enough interactivity (LADIES GLASSU ding ding FEVER TIME!) to hit the domamine happy chemicals in your brain
it's fun and good and wholesome
>You have to spend hours grinding
no you don't, what the fuck are you doing
How do you do it quickly then? I dropped it after the first cabaret boss.
how 2 win at cabaret
>have eight silver-or-better hostesses
>have eight no-hoper bronze hostesses
rotate these two groups A-B-A-B-A-B. win
stop mismanaging your hostesses you idiot, it's not rocket science
>tfw told the Obatarian to fuck herself (and by that I mean I never talked to her and let her stay in the side alley all game after finishing her quest)
NO FUCKING OLD LADIES IN MY CABARET, I'M SORRY
Lmao it’s braindead easy to manage them. How do you complete it quickly then?
You have spend at least 3-4 hours grinding that shit.
>Take literally anyone in your party, rank doesn't matter, fans matter more than anything because it gets guests in the door frequently.
>Get Fever Time
>Fill al least two tables even if the guy hates the girl.
>Activate Fever Time.
Bam, done. You'll gain another Fever Time before the last one runs out or even more because they will always be at max happiness. I used two bronze hostesses throughout all of K2. Hostess rank only matters in FotNS where you actually have to worry about assigning the correct people with the highest stats because doing bad means punks entering the establishment and they're a nightmare to please.
Better not let the King Panther hear you're mistreating one of her obatarians.
Fun.
majima is lame
Great story & fun brawler gamu
Cheesing for money is all right but I still want to play dress-up and shit like that. It honestly didn't start getting boring for me in 0 until the very, very end of the entire storyline.
Here's the burst attack he did on you (though not during heat), twice even, and it barely did damage.
That's what the entire game was like for me from start to finish. Every boss would barely do damage. They could do a scripted cutscene attack that knocks me through 15 different things and it'd take off like 5% of my HP max.
There's obviously something very wrong then. Maybe it's due to the framerate? Can you limit it to 30 and try it again if you are at 60?
Here's RPG Amon's one-hit move during heat (I think so at least, as I said the original fights took me under a minute so I don't actually know what its supposed to look like), doing roughly 45%~ of my HP
I doubt that's intended either
I don't see a setting to cap FPS at 30, but I tried going from 144hz to 60hz with vsync on and the UZI Amon's damage remained the same
That's really odd. The Amon damage is only slightly nefed in the Colosseum because you obviously have to go through three rounds, but it's not nerfed to that extent. I just nearly died to Kazuya's axes just now after about six hits. I'll check myself. People were reporting of issues with the physics of enemy bodies flying into the sky which is so rare on PS4 it almost never happens. I had it happen once and only on 6.
The worst boss fights I've seen in years. They animation cancel, get super armor, and have no tells for what move they're going to do next meaning you have to bait out every single move to make sure you don't get 1 framed into a combo string that takes entirely too long that you have to watch.
Playing K2, fighting Man in Black in the abandoned building on his 2nd phase. Can you not fucking parry him? He chips away 20% of my health with each hit
Here's a quick example I could do of Jo. He doesn't do much damage at the start but as soon as he gets into Red Heat and especially when he gets the bubble he starts dealing unreasonable amounts of damage and you get stunned due to the fire. I haven't found Jiro or Sango yet, I've fought Kazuya like six times by now. Have you encountered Jo and does he do about this much as well?
Pretty sure you can but the window is incredibly tight because it's like close to when he does his knife kick.
she was legit an mvp in my cabaret, being #1 in rankings half the time and never going below 3.
she's a top tier pick.
