He did literally everything wrong.
He fed the last and best Lord to a FAT FUCK
Was he right tho? Was being consumed a way to escape hollowing and truly dying?
Explain.
He lived in a mid-game area despite being a final boss.
He wasn't human, so why would he care about hollowing?
He fed my wife to eldrtich sludge.
He died like a bitch
He's parryable. That's a death sentence for anyone in the Souls universe.
>he fed some mentally ill cross dresser to aldritch
So he's our guy?
He should have been the final boss, not the literally who soul of cinder
what did he do again? join the dark moon knights only to poison Gwyndolin, lock Yorshka in a tower, stole power from the profained flame, brought aldrich to eat dying Gwyndolin? I can't remember it all too well
Apparently he was supposed to be the final boss, and was fought at the Untended Graves. Apparently the Corvians there was a hint to that happening.
>"I know this guy did something wrong but I don't know the lore and want people to spoon-feed it to me" : the thread
it's also implied he's the one that convinced lothric to not link the flame
>The old gods bow to Pontiff Sulyvahn
>in contact with Saint Aldrich
>rumoured to possess ancient sorceries
>controls Irithyll with an iron, but fair, fist
>owns castles and cathedrals all over the world
>direct descendant of the ancient living tree blood line
>will bankroll the first cities in the Deep (Sulygrad will be the first city)
>in the process of terraforming Ariandel as his personal painting
>own basically every Soul editing research facility in Lothric
>first designer beasts will be Sulyvahn's Beasts
>said to have 99+ Int
>ancient pygmy scriptures tell of an angel who will descend upon Lothric and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented cannibalism with him
>This is Pontiff Sulyvahn
>He owns Eye R&D labs around the world
>you likely have his eyes inside of you right now
>every child has the mark of Sulyvahn implanted in them at birth
>Pontiff Sulyvahn is in regular communication with Aldrich, forwarding the word of God to the Cathedral of the Deep
>Discovered the Profane Flame
>Learned fluent HMMPH in under a week
>Kingdoms entrust their gold reserves to the Pontiff. There's no gold in Ft. Know, only Ft. Sulyvahn
>The Pontiff is 70 years old, from the space-time reference point of the base human
>In reality, he is a timeless being existing in all points of time and space from the birth of the Dragons to the Death of the First Flame
>The Pontiff will guide humanity to a new age of the Deep, Profane, and fucking bitches
He also convinced Lorian and Lothric to not kindle the first flame and turned Gwynevere's daughter into the Dancer. He apparently looked up to Aldritch and since Aldritch dreams of the Age of the Deep after the Age of the Dark, he went around doing things to make sure it would absolutely happen.
I'm sorry your fag twink got fed on a silver platter to Aldritch.
imagine making a princess into your dancing sex slave and then turning her into an animal
sounds fun to me?
based
If that's all he did I'd call him pretty based as well.
It's not user. There's so much more.
yeah well his 99+ int didn't stop me from parrying his weak ass.
>Gwynevere's daughter into the Dancer.
citation needed
>his actions led to the age of fire ending as it should have many years prior
Sounds good to me.
How did he manage to mind break Dancer to be his personal cock sleeve?
>Armor worn by the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. The mirage-like aurora veil is said to be an article of the old gods, permitted only for direct descendants of the old royal family. The black eyes of the Pontiff eventually transformed the Dancer into a beastly creature, her gauntlets fusing with her own hide.
The profaned flame is at fault, Sully dindu
Mary Suellyvanh is a shitty meme character, and the only reason he's remembered fondly is because everything else original to DaS3 was ten times worse.
God you are such a fucking retard
He isn't exactly wrong. Most of the original content that Dark Souls 3 introduced went absolutely nowhere and had no reason to even exist. Sulyvahn is one of the few parts of the game that actually has some story behind it.
he literally dies to a noname undead thats naked and spam rolling around chugging yellow drank
the Dancer's soul can also be transfused for a miracle tied to Gwynevere
reminder that she was also married/engaged to Vordt
You mean Aldrich? Pontiff wasn't getting shit out of that deal.
>Pontiff
>End-game hard
Kek. Nowhere near as difficult as SoC.
>soul of Cinder
>difficult
What? Pontiff is way harder than that fuck. He may not be super hard but holy shit, if you think "glorified npc" Soul of Cinder is hard then you are just bad at these games.
>SoC
>difficult
???
Pontiff was suppose to be the final boss, but From Soft being From Soft scrapped the whole game and pieced together a new one using said scraps and he was locked as a mid-boss
Do you have a single fact to back that claim up?
Are you faggots being deliberately contrary? Pont is a piece of piss. The top 5 hardestest bosses in core DaS3 go like this:
1. Nameless King
2. Soul of Cinder
3. Aldrich
4. Champion Gundyr
5. Twin Princes
>Aldrich
>hard
and i can't take this post seriously anymore
only NK deserves to be on that list, but he gets BTFO'd by DLC bosses
The only boss that you named that is even remotely difficult is Gundyr. Aldritch, especially, is a fucking cake walk, the only hard part about him is his bullshit arrow rain attack which is basically just RNG on whether or not he does the attack.
Nameless king himself is fucking easy, though. The only issue with him is phase 1 because of how terrible the camera is.
>Aldrich
wut
>Champion Gundyr
wot
>The exact thing which makes the boss hard isn't allowed to be included in an argument as to why the boss is hard
Champion Gundyr is easy without his ridiculous jump range and combo spamming.
That's not the point you moron, the fights against the storm drake is only "difficult" because the camera spazzes out whenever it decides to move, because the game isn't built around fights with large enemies like dragons. Midir is the same way. If you just don't use the camera when fighting the bosses, they are now absolute pushovers and only a brain dead moron could lose against them. If your only argument about them being legitimate difficult is because of the camera and not the boss itself, you have just shown how fucking dumb you are.
Getting inescapably 1-shot every once in a while doesn't mean a boss is hard. If that were true fucking Nashandra could be on your retarded list with her AoE that can randomly trap you on the edge and be inescapable.
>NK
No. His moveset is very limited, one of his attacks can be outright ignored by looking away.
>SoC
3 of his 4 styles are useless and weak.
His DexPyro style can be dangerous only because of an instagib combo.
Phase 2 is literally Gwyn
>Aldrich
Are you shitposting
>Champ
He's a meme, he's still the same tutorial boss but with a new charge attack and a kick.
>Incest Princes
Not seeing it man, Lorian is slow as fuck and Lothric is useless. The only enemy is the camera.
>don't level vig
>get one shotted
SEE THESE BOSSES ARE HAAARDDDDDD
none of the dlc bosses hit as hard as nk. even blackflame is more forgiving
This doesn't at all prove what you were claiming. You've extrapolated a conclusion far, far removed from the facts stated.
What the article said:
>at variousl points during development the team explored different ideas than what we got in the final game, such as Sullyvahn being the final boss
What you said:
>From Soft being From Soft scrapped the whole game and pieced together a new one using said scraps and he was locked as a mid-boss
Even if they did scrap the game halfway through and piece it back together (this doesn't make any sense), there's no reason they couldn't have kept Sullyvahn as the final boss. The change was obviously fully intentional, but you seem to be implying it was instead a result of poor development management.
Shut your mouth before your ass gets jealous of the amount of bullshit coming out of it.
He was a shit boss.
is this a boy
Parrying is for tryhards. You're not a fucking tryhard, right?
Nice bait
which attack can you just look away from?
NK is extremely overrated. Midir too. Friede is the hardest boss in DS3
I found Nash with her stupid curse poles legitimately hard. That fight was annoying as fuck. Not to mention her grim reaper Scythe is ridiculously powerful and has enormous range.
Nashandra being easy is a fucking meme made up by plebs who summoned for her.
>red and purple sword
was this a revan reference?
i agree on midir who once you understand him is so predictable it's basically on rails
when he tries to thunderbolt you, by lifting his spear up, you just turn around
you are the only person i've ever heard call nashandra hard or indeed anything more than a total pushover
>Friede is the hardest boss in DS3
>backstab/stagger:the boss
>hardest in ds3
come on man, gael shits on her
You're not wrong in saying that she hits hard, especially with melee hits if she sweet-spots, but her AI is retarded and easily exploited so badly that even people who fight her completely legit usually only get hit 1-2 times.
*bloodborne anime steps away*
no way
i like gael, he feels like a fair das1 fight. he is a very easy fight in relation to the series' gradual ramping up of stakes and difficulty though
Please keep following the crowd, user. You probably also think DaS2 is a shit game,l right? Noting like hopping on the old bandwagon to feel your opinion matters.
This was ripped out of in game files, you fucking retard. Gundyr used to also be Oceiros and there were a bunch of paths that led to other zones (undead settlement greatwood boss room connected to the Carthus Catacombs, for instance)
>According to game file references unearthed by McDonald, at one stage in development, Dark Souls 3 didn't conclude with the fight against the Soul of Cinder in the Kiln of the First, as is the case in the final release. Instead, it culminated in a battle with Pontiff Sulyvahn (now found in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley) in an unseen third variation of the Untended Graves.
There's more by the way. Twin Princes, infact, the entire lothric castle area was at night, and there were serpents with wings flying around instead. The Darksign Sun thing was only going to happen with the Untended Graves area, not lothric castle. The Pilgrim Butterflies weren't a thing.
god bless u (you)
>no way
It's true, the attack is fundamentally broken. You can even just run away from him when he does the attack and it cancels the attack. He does the animation but no lighting will ever strike downwards.
You do know that every game has game file ripped have clues of the changes during development phase. Every single game has this. Is this your first time looking at game file rip info in a video game ever? A change in development doesn't equal to rushed and cut content.
Why is that faggot copying Darth Cunny?
Even if you don't parry all you have to do is circle strafe outside of his kick and shoulder range and he just flails at the air like a retard.
The dragon-version of Oceiros was also supposed to be in a different area that was on the other side of the bridge but was cut from the game.
Apparently the demon mages in the Demon Ruins were also from there since they all share the same growth that can also be seen in concept art for that area.
Except that we have actual proof of these changes, you fucking retard. First you deny that the changes happened despite people posting sources, now you're saying that every game does it and that a change deosn't mean rushed and cut. Things did get cut fromt he game you fucking idiot, a lot of things got cut. People hacked the game to find a shit ton of cut weapons, armor pieces, items, and resources. They all even have item descriptions still attached to them.
darksouls3.wikidot.com
This stuff even coincides with the previous leak that the Demon Prince fight from the Ringed City DLC was actually, originally, in the base game at the Smouldering Lake area.
>Soul of the Great Bat, sealed away deep beneath the earth. Use to acquire a huge amount of souls, or to make an offering at the training kiln…
Dark Souls 3 was both rushed and had cut content and only a retard will actually deny this.
>cut bridge
where?
How do I into souls lore Yea Forums? I've played the games this year but I only got a vague idea of whats going on. Any good videos that go through the whole thing start to finish?
Probably the bridge that this key was going to originally lead to. Just look through the link in
fire bad
dark good
Don't bother. There isn't really much worth talking about since almost all of it is incoherent and purposefully vague to the point of annoyance. It's as if the developers wrote a fleshed out story then specifically removed 80% of it to make it seem complex.
it's autism and baseless speculation at this point. it was only good for a flash in time around 2010 to 2012, back before the real obsessives took over the scene
You can look at those serpents by going out of bounds, they aren't the same thing as Frampt/Kaathe.
No one said they were. Can you not read?
On the other side of the bridge.
There's even a key in the game files that was cut which described the area:
tcrf.net
>Key to the inner part of the bridge. Beyond the great bridge that couldn't possibly have been made by human hand, hides a mystery that has yet to be discovered. Some say that the realm of God awaits, but others…
And the rough map data was also found:
There's wiki for cut and unused content for every Soul game. There's cut and unused contents left in the game files for games that aren't even Soul game, not even a From Software games. Twin Princes being planned for Smouldering Lake originally doesn't equal to both Twin Princes and Old Demon King would be available for that level from the start. They could have played with the idea of Twin Prince for that level first, but then think that Old Demon King would fit the theme of the area more.
Dark Soul 3 isn't more rush nor incomplete compared to other soul game. Just because they change x to y doesn't mean that you are supposed to get x AND y in the game from the start. It is what you get in the final release. It's fucking stupid to use it as an point to criticize DS3
Shit, let me see if I got it down then;
First there existed nothing in the world but a bunch of dragon assholes. Suddenly this great fire happened and kickstarted the age of fire and the dawn of civilization. A few thousand or something years pass, but as the flames of the fire start dying out Gwyn gets autism and tries to prolong the age of fire by linking the flame with himself. Gwyns unnatural link causes time and natural laws itself to get fucked up, resulting in time and space becoming distorted, corrupted beasts walking the world and humans being unable to die, simply remaining as undead until they eventually lose their mind and become raging mindless hollows.
>1. Nameless King
I never understood that meme, he's one of the easiest bosses in the game.
>no, the game wasn't rushed and these things didn't get cut
>okay they got cut but it wasn't rushed
>who cares if it was rushed? All the games go through this
You're still trying to actively deny Pontiff Sulyvahn originally being the final boss despite people proving otherwise. You're a fucking idiot.
I mean Demon Prince, not Twin Princes
>critisizing ds3
Not the same user, but the main point of what they were saying was that pontiff was intended to be a final boss before changes were made. Calling a game rushed doesn't really invalidate it (see ds1). Don't get others started on 2.
The only thing I hate about 3 is sticking too close to 1. I'd prefer more original concepts. I'm okay with callbacks but I would prefer if the only callback we got was to explore one of the countries mentioned in 1 or 2. Astora, catarina, vinhiem, thorolund instead of another country obsessed with dragons and the kiln.
Hawkshaw but he only covers the first game.
Vaati does an overall okay of covering the plotlines going on, but he speculates a lot and doesn't make clear what is his own extrapolation and what is actually mentioned in-game, leading to a lot of his viewers ending up very mislead about certain lore points. If you watch his videos just be sure to fact-check him, I'd say he's accurate about 60% of the time.
Your best bet is to just ask Yea Forums specific questions and, amidst all the retarded answers you'll get, at least one of them will be pretty spot-on.
>NK
>moveset is very limited
The fuck? he has more moves than most
of course they should have never made sequels to dark souls 1. but the formula probably only works set in a dead, surreal world like lothric or lordran.
I have played DaS3 like 5 times and I still thought OP's image was fucking Revan from KOTOR.
What the fuck is with the lightsabers
NK hits like a truck on steroids and is likely to 2HKO most viglets. He also has a fair amount of hp so he'll probably drain estus for a lot of players and take a bunch of tries.
>SoC
ok
>Aldrich
I've cooped him a ton, you have no fucking idea how many hosts get instagibbed by his arrow rain.
>Champ
Extremely agressive and finding a moment to heal is tough, he'll likely punish heals real hard and can easily combo you to death if you don't know what he does. Newbies can't parry.
>Princes
Camera issues, yeah. Getting caught off guard and/or getting instagibbed by the big light attack is how I've seen most hosts die. That and the occasional Lorian combo.
On later playthroughs obviously almost all bosses will be easy since you know what they do and how to deal with it.
Almost all hosts are no hp viglets and get caught even by simple attacks so they die real fucking easily.
That's not what rushed mean. Though if it is by your definition then every game is indeed rush because every game has a finite dev time and deadline. Every game has that idea phases with many assets being made with those ideas and some get scrapped early but stay in the game files. The game get narrowed down to one concrete plan with a work time table so it will meet deadline. DS3 itself is a very complete and polished game on release, more so than any other Soul game and about equal to BB and Sekiro so it probably did have a fairly smooth development cycle. You won't notice obvious cut content unless you dig up the game file and look at them and make some head cannon how the game was supposed to be. A rushed game would be obviously re-worked last minute and cramped into the deadline with completely unfinished area and lack of polish. Nobody needs data-mining to see stuffs like certain area in DS1 or DS2 being unfinished.
Fair enough. Tbh, I never really like the single big bad guy being final boss concept for Dark Soul series. I didn't quite enjoy that kind of plot line main game DS2 with Nashandra being big bad final boss in the end for the same reason and it turns Manus into some ancient evil power shit instead of something more nuanced and mysterious. I'm fine with him being in middle of the game even if he's directly or indirectly responsible for some stuffs happening in the game. The final confrontations of each story arc in DS3 are meant to the Lord of Cinders, who aren't really "evil" themselves but rather simply have their own agenda that put them in the antagonist position. SoC wrapped up the main game story perfectly.
What if we got a prequel where you fight along side gwyn, fire witches an skeletons to destroy the stone dragons? It would be different since there wouldn't be immortality and you could interact with more npcs. Instead you can choose to participate as faction members between the different groups to kill dragons. Dying loses troops and you could actually lose by running out. Now imagine if there was a hidden pygmy ancestor faction that worshipped the dragons and you could betray the other factions for a different noncanon ending.
every story has been told. there is nothing new under the sun. shun novelty and nostalgia. lead a life of penury
I just want a souls game in a world where shit hasn't hit the fan, dried, and then an extra 5 centuries have passed. I want a game set in a world where the problem of the population hollowing and monster uprisings hasn't hit it's climax just yet so you can witness and be a part of the collapse of kingdoms, either fighting to speed it up or hold it off. Similar to Demon Souls but still much earlier
Yes and no.
Gwyn was VERY afraid of the dark. Unnaturally so. Not only did he fear the Age of Dark and wanted to remain in power, but fragments of the Dark Soul existed in humanity. Humans were separate from the race of Gwyn / the gods. So the he made the Darksign as a seal to brand humans and put a seal on their fragments of the Dark Soul. This was a Very Bad Thing, and lead to shit like the Oolacile incident and the undead plague itself. which lead to hollowing and all the other nasty things that happened in the world. Prolonging the Age of Fire might have caused a lot of time distortion bullshit as well. No one is sure if the Age of Dark would be good for just humans or bad for anyone, either.
It's too late for me, I'm far too acclimated to luxury. I couldn't lead such a life.
Dark Souls is a world of decline. Even in the first game everyone was weakened, dried and shriveled up. The closest we got to some prime power was NK, and even he was hollow and dried up, but it was the closest look into what the gods power used to be.
>you will never play as a Knight of Astora defending your home from mindless hollows and other monsters that want to see your homelands destruction.
I don't want to live in this world anymore.
So humans don't really have access to their fragment of the dark souls because of the dark sign? Are pygmies and humans supposed to be different?
Convince me that End of Fire isn't the best ending.
>Letting the world finally rest
>No more burning souls.
>No more burning world.
The End of Fire isn't the end of the world. Everyone was still there.
Not what he said retard
Until the events of Ringed City happen and the entire world turns to dust.
humans are pygmies - they're small in comparison to the other claimants of lord souls and their kin. dark sign per dark souls 3 retcons is a seal placed on humanity's true strength
This doesn't explain why the pygmy lords in Ringed City all look far too different than any human ever did.
they look like hollowed humans with good hair
As said, humans are pygmies cause they're small compared to the other races. The Darksign was retconned in DaS3 to be a seal - the Oolacile incident was a result of humans trying to activate their powers and the Darksign preventing that, causing them to turn into horrible monsters. Manus is a prime example of this.
As much as I dislike Ds2 I loved the traveling back in time segments in the forest of fallen giants and actually being able to see the siege that was talked up so much
>they look like hollowed humans
Not really, they just look shriveled. Being shriveled isn't really hollowing. I thought the pygmy lords were direct descendants to the furtive pygmy, though. Explaining why Gale specifically hunted them during the DLC due to their potentially more potent Dark Soul fragments.
This. It was it's greatest strength. When you realize that the Last Giant remembers you and tries to kill you, even ripping it's own fucking arm off in rage. It had it's moments.
i'm gonna beat you up
Gael*
the existence of the ringed city and pygmy lords is in direct contradiction to dark souls 1 lore. if humanity is growing in strength out there in the world, what was the purpose of locking humanity in the ringed city? it's all pointless speculation and probably giving more thought to these things than the devs even did, but i imagine the only way to square the circle is to say that manus was a pygmy lord who escaped the ringed city and fathered humanity on the outside
>but i imagine the only way to square the circle is to say that manus was a pygmy lord who escaped the ringed city and fathered humanity on the outside
As far as DS3 is concerned, this is what I thought of it. The Pygmy Lords were descendants to the Furtive Pygmy, and then Humans were descendants to the Pygmy Lords.
I hate the idea that there were even pygmy lords at all with their own little thrones. The whole point was that the pygmy was a nobody but now he fathered royalty. I would have preferred if the dlc explored londor or some shit about the slippery snakes. Especially if Kathe id dead. Let me hit his corpse or grave or something.
Nobody has ever denied that, stop thrashing at imaginary strawmen. Nothing you have posted has made it seem probable that the game was rushed or that their were developmental problems leading to bosses/zones/plotline/whatevers being arranged differently or cut altogether.
The DLC should have been about the Deep, and the writers could still try to keep gael in it along with his search for the blood of the Dark Soul.
Except the fact that they all ended up getting cut for some reason. Things get cut for a reason, and the person who leaked this stuff even mentioned developmental issues and time constraints, you fucking newfag.
>the person who leaked this stuff even mentioned developmental issues and time constraints
Where?
>they all ended up getting cut for some reason
Like "I don't want to take the game in this direction anymore".
Explain how you think that changing Sullyvahn from the final boss to a midgame boss would reduce development strain, even though that means SoC was made after that change, and SoC with his entire area do not seem light in development cost.
> The whole point was that the pygmy was a nobody but now he fathered royalty.
Yeah a nobody until he absorbed godlike power of the dark soul. You kinda become something after attaining a power like that. And if he's anything like humans are he wants to keep power in the family.
what do you think user
Keep in mind that this was all leaked before people even started finding out about the hidden cut content within the games files.
kaagaz.io
>Like "I don't want to take the game in this direction anymore".
Like a " we have to shuffle almost the entire game around for some reason" reasoning. You keep harping on about Sulyvahn like he was the only change. The game was almost drastically different in comparison to its original version. The fact that this stuff was later found in the hacked games alpha version basically all but confirms it to be true outside of Miyazaki just saying so.
in dark souls 1 he's a scheming nobody playing the long game. per the natural order, darkness should have only been ascendant once the flames faded. dark souls 3 turned this on its head but dark souls 3 sucks so who cares
Yea now you are literally grasping with the unproven “insider” information though. My dad works at FROM Software and he can confirm that this is false
>unproven
>confirmed 1 month later by people who found supporting evidence in the games files
How asshurt are you actually getting over this?
If your suggested reason for something changing involves the phrase "for some reason", you need to rethink what you're saying.
I keep bringing up Sulyvahn because he was the origin point of the discussion, where you initially claimed that because he was originally intended to be the final boss, this means the game got scrapped halfway through and then frankenstein'd together again.
Every final game is drastically different in comparison to its "original version" (read: "the unfished mess of ideas from a pre-pre-pre-alpha build made during the development process").
A lot of the ideas brought up in that link in and your image sound like very ambitious concepts to put in a game, it is completely understandable that the team would decide they were unfeasible to accomplish within their given deadline and manpower resources. I can't even imagine how that bat boss in Smouldering Lake would work within the game's mechanics, for instance.
>did nothing wrong
>Darth Revan
You're Right
The “evidence” is nowhere extensive enough to prove that the “insider” leak is correct and legit. This is the case of confirmation bias and you are just trying to fill in small pieces to justify a big picture that might not be true
It was changed because the original version opened the doors for a new IP/sequel involving the Age of the Deep, and Miyazaki couldn't get it done with the time he was given by Bandai Namco so instead he decided to give closure and give the series some finality. Bamco only had a 3 game clause with From Software so now that that's done they can do something that isn't DaS
>this means the game got scrapped halfway through and then frankenstein'd together again.
It basically did.
>A lot of the ideas brought up in that link in and your image sound like very ambitious concepts to put in a game
Yeah, because Gundyr, the kingly looking guy wearing armor (that the game even states resembles a king in the armor sets item description) originally being Oceiros, the king consumed by the pus of man in the consumed kings garden that it also being consumed by the pus of man, totally is ambiguous and makes no sense at all. Or the fact that we have confirmed files pointing out how the bat boss from Ringed City got cut form the final game for some reason and there's even a bat demon boss soul that was later found in the games files (). Or the fact that an entire area that was mapped out got cut from the game. Don't forget how the developers also decided to randomly remove interconnecting pathways in the game. Totally ambiguous.
>It was changed because the original version opened the doors for a new IP/sequel involving the Age of the Deep
But the Age of Deep follows the Age of Dark which comes after the Age of Fire. Dark Souls 3 didn't do anything to change this since letting the fire fade is the canon ending.
kek't
>people had trouble with this boss when most his attacks just go above your head and miss you
Dancer is harder than any of those
>Wonky hitbox Instakill grab attack unless you have 25+ Vigor
it's bullshit but pretty well telegraphed so not quite as breaking as the samurai guy's stab grab in das2
Dancer is a joke though
I was always confused by how anyone got clipped by Alonne's stab. He winds his sword back for like 10 seconds before thrusting
>1. Nameless King
literally the only boss i beat on my first try in ds3, that guy is a joke
You do understand a difference between some skeleton file and a functioning area/boss/enemmy right?
Do you think game development involve waiving a magic wand and shit just pop in or cut from the game?
I’m 55 hours into my first playthrough and haven’t tried to parry one enemy, am I doing it wrong
It's about cycles and it's MUCH more 4th wall breaking than you'd expect it to be.
>25+ Vigor
Is that supposed to be a high number or something?
You'll never be MLG, kid.
Nah, DS3 demands a bit less parry and a lot less backstab fishing compared to previous soul game. Even in previous soul game, there were only a handful of encounter parry since backstab is much more safe in other situation. Parry does trivialize some boss but it is sort of a boring way to play the game
Depends really, shields aren't truly necessary to begin with. The only reason you might be playing wrong is solely if you have to rely on summons. Summons carry you even if you're shit. The point of the game is playing it. Summons are oppurtunities for fun. Ex. Me and two friends fucked with sullyvahn for a long while before dying without any intent to finish him. Normal summons are typically no fun allowed tho.
i always felt parrying is a badly done mechanic in the souls games
for pvp yeah it's fine but for pve not only you flat out have enemies you cannot parry, sometimes you heve enemies that only some of their attacks can be parried
>Summons are oppurtunities for fun
Summons are a crutch for the terrible balance that makes the same boss a joke to one build and near impossible to another
Bloodborne might be up your alley since Yharnam is right in the middle of its fall.
>makes the same boss a joke to one build and near impossible to another
That's a good thing.
Is it though?
I flinch-locked him to death with the guts sword despite being under leveled compared to everyone else when they get to him. I don't see the big deal about his fight being hard
Yeah
>misread "ambitious" as "ambiguous"
based belligerent retard
Why is his head so small respective to the rest of his body? Why does he force his knights to have similarly small heads?
It's an Anor Londo tradition
Anor Loondos are big dumb retards.
I have beaten DS3 three times and died once to Soul of Cinder.
>totally is ambiguous
Never said that.
> the bat boss from Ringed City got cut form the final game
Probably because it sounds way too ambitious, like I just said.
>Or the fact that an entire area that was mapped out
You mean the third version of the untended graves? The only thing found was a zone id file, you do not understand how video games work.
>Don't forget how the developers also decided to randomly remove interconnecting pathways in the game.
Why do you think it was a random act? Why does your firmest argument hinge on the belief that everything you're suggesting happened by chance or by some unkowable reason? Why do you think that suggestion counts as proof or is going to convince anyone else?
>Do you think game development involve waiving a magic wand and shit just pop in or cut from the game?
How, exactly, does this change the fact that the game was shuffled around?
That question could only be asked if you ignored the first half of the post.
>Never said that.
Yes, my mistake. Speed reading.
>You mean the third version of the untended graves?
No, the graveyard of the Gods.
>Why do you think it was a random act?
Because there's no logical reason for it.
But these files were found in the game and were more than just concepts. You act like they didn't exist outside of being written on paper, these things were found int he game files.. Are you also going to deny the bonfire creation mechanic that still exists in the games files? It's funny how you keep trying to deny all of this despite revealed footage found by various other people supporting all of the claims that were posted in the image. The biggest one, the flying serpents, even has video footage. yet you seemed to just deny it.
Fuck, meant for
Jesus fucking christ you are dense, how hard is it to understand the plain english being spoken to you by multiple people ITT? I'm out, this is like trying to explain economics to a brick wall.
Pontiff had more build up as an endgame villain than anyone. Instead of a generic automanous guardian final boss it should have been sullyvahn trying to snuff out the flame in preparation for the deep
Who so you consider the 5 hardest bosses
This entire argument started because some idiot () argued against the game being wildly different from its alpha version despite multiple people posting proof of these drastic changes ITT. I think the only person here who can't fucking read is the person arguing against the game being shifted around from its alpha version (not its concept version like you keep wanting to think, the alpha version pre retail).
Base game? Champion Gundyr, Sulyvahn, and Dancer. I can't name more than those three because even though "hardest" doesn't really mean "hard", everything else was so painfully easy that the only other issues come from having to fight the camera (nameless king/lorian/etc) and not the boss itself. DLC included, it's Friede, Dancer, Sulyvahn, Gundyr, and Gael.
The Ringed City is a bizarre combination of "what-if" and time-travel that can be assumed to have not happened since there's still visible light in the world, and ergo fire
Doesn't the sun go out after Gael dies?
No, the environment looks the same. It does darken once he starts exuding the blood of the dark soul but brightens up again once he's dead since it's an environmental effect for the battle
he got in my way
Doesn't the Dark glow? That's the white light of the Humanities.
No, it stays dark after the fight is over.
his head may be a reference to the wax scholars but who honestly knows
He isn't human.
