It’s because they chose the wrong version of the original Castlevania.

Does it have an option to disable the lag? If not, that's kind of a big deal.

To clarify, there were 2 versions of NES Castlevania. The first had a bug that would cause the game to crash. They issues a second release to correct this. The version in the collection is the crashy version.

Literally all modern emulators have overclocking options to eliminate lag, there's no reason to not have it
