I'm I have had other embarassing moments but the one I remember the most, and I will never forget it in all my life is this one:

In TBC, in the time-travel raid where you go back in time to save the World Tree (from Warcraft 3), the final boss has an attack that sends people very high in the air. But an NPC gives you a feather-fall item that can be activated, but the thing disappears after 1 hour so you have to remember to talk to the NPC and get the item every now and then when wiping on him.
So we're really close to killing him, and some guy forgot to renew the token and dies .. so I make a sarcastic comment ... then IMMEDIATELY the boss throws me in the air and I have no token.

I will -never- forget this.

I've done other bullshit too but this takes the cake.

It's because those dps speccs for hybrids have their place in PvP. You don't define a player by their specc, you define it by their class. For example, if Druid tanks were viable for PvE their flag carrying potential in PvP would be even stronger, if Elemental Shamans mana-issues were resolved to be viable in PvE then they've lost their only weakness in PvP. Every class in Vanilla has their own place in PvE and PvP and there's no need to rebalance specc's, if anything the itemization for the hybrids needs fixing not the talent choices themselves

the kinds of people that play these specs are almost always pieces of shits that i dont even want to see in-game and realizing this is the final red pill on class balance good fucking riddance keep them in retail containment

I remember one, he was the Finn who made IceHUD, and his name was Iceroth. A druid and a really great guy. I remember my Arena partner in TBC, obviously. Not many other names.

For some reason I remember an enemy Horde mage with whom we used to duel all the time outside of Alterac Valley. He was named Mcbojangles. I remember it. Finnish guy I think he was in a guild that later moved servers and merged into that top Finnish guild in the world whose name I forget.

In Vanilla I raided with a group of people that were from different guilds. We organized through a website and then got to know each other, it was intended to be a place where we can raid together while still staying in our original guilds with friends who didn't want to raid.
The rest of the server called us "Randoms" and made fun of us, but we kept up with the top guilds and eventually cleared all the way up to 11 bosses in Vanilla Naxx.

It felt good to be able to raid without having to gquit on my buddies from Lineage 2 who didn't want to play so much.

all of the fundamentally broken specs are broken for the exact same reason that has the exact same easy fix. They can't maintain their mana in combat. They run out after a minute of fighting and then they're just stuck scratching their ass for the rest of the fight. It's why they're useless in raids. The only exception is feral which is just generally shit.

very weak raid dps, not even viable for nightfall to save them sine warriors and hunters do it so much better (but casual guilds wont mind and you can still make it) resto shamans can provide nearly the same level of utility as you with their windfury totems

but also pretty weak in PVP too, the windfury shit is an ancient youtube meme and you will be miserable if thats what you try to live by. at the higher levels of PVP competition ENH is pretty low tier, and even if you are completely dedicated to making enhancement work its still undeniably one of the most boring playstyles in the entire game unless you really like playing slots. elemental is much more viable and i guarantee you will enjoy it more than ENH even if you hate dresses and want to whack stuff not cast

Basically know this exact feel. Mained Warlock in vanilla, but played Warrior in every xpac after that and enjoyed tanking. I really want to experience classic Warlock, but I don't trust any of my friends to tank in a game where threat actually fucking matters.

I don’t understand how classic rpg mechanics are considered negatives like having to skill up. Vanilla wow is already pretty bare bones in comparison to what came before it. It isn’t really tedious or remotely punishing. The worst that can happen is that you have to run a couple of minutes to your corpse. You don’t lose anything on death besides durability. You are able to solo your way to 60 as any class. Vanilla is a pretty casual game. I’ll be playing it in the fall and sticking to p99 over the summer.

I raided up to half of Naxx (never did C'Thun or Twin Emps myself tho) as an enhancement shaman. Still healed in raids but the difference wasn't that big because I was playing 0/30/21.

Ret is cucked by low damage and no slow. In a fight to the death they are middle tier but the opponent can just run away if they are losing.

Balance is squishy and has mana problems. Feral is not good either at higher gear levels (and hybrid the same by extension)

? I raided all the way to Naxx. Didn't get very far before tbc though. City waiting wasn't a thing at all like it is today. Even if you were looking for a tank, you would still be talking with your people and doing stuff while you waited. Also the wait was worth it, because you actually had something to do afterwards besides autoattacking while fapping to a second monitor.

I thought it was resilience. Making PvE gear worthless in PvP and vice versa, it's anathema to MMO design. You get a good weapon it's your right, and duty, to go flex on a nigger.

Not in Naxx you can't. You need to do DPS to actually down the bosses, and tanks can't hit defense cap with "of Frost Resistance", and as someone who actually tanked Naxx back when it was relevant, I know for a fact that there's fuck-all for FrR, which is why we never cleared it.

I would be legitimately surprised, because that seems mathematically impossible.

Main benefits paladin's have is they can more or less win fights of attrition and assuming equal gear and skill level will take for-fucking-ever to kill a properly played paladin. They practically get at least 3 health bars and already have HP and armor on par with warriors.

They get massive staying power but lack in chase power so they certainly have a place in PvP just not in every scenario, as it should be really.

Tseric did nothing wrong, except tell the truth. But, to address your point, the beta isn't actually a beta, but a marketing tactic. They don't want to fix it as much as get people hype. And the people selected will reach the largest audience.

my pvp guild was heavily focused on getting everyone HWL. we spent countless hours sitting on the bank in orgrimmar while waiting for our BG queue to pop.

I admit it wasn't always like this, but once they added the queue for BGs, the only reason I left the city was for raid nights and to farm materials for flask. the rest of my time was spent on top of the bank waiting for WSG to pop while shitposting on Yea Forums.

We all pooled money for our first level 60 friend to get an epic mount, he bought one of the unarmored ones before they were removed from the game, then quit altogether

Those mounts will be rare as fuck so get your hands on them if they exist in early Classic, they disappeared from the game fairly quickly

I was actually cheap as fuck and did not buy an Epic mount for the full cost instead grinding PVP ranks until I got to Rank 11 for a cheap epic mount (and pretty fucking rare too).
I liked the title too, Commander has a good ring to it. Allowed me to type into the World Defense channel, although I only ever used that once.

They're in the business of making money. WoW classic in an investment. They have their reasons for inviting certain people. They're building hype for the game. Of course world buffs do. How many rings do you think DM buffs are worth? Ony? Songflower? ZG? Darkmoon? Warchief's? Your DPS is going to do more half naked with world buffs than without. They're gamebreaking.

The issue is vs anything not melee they get kited until the end of time or simply ignored. You're literally at the mercy of every mage in the zone the second you land off of the gryphon.
I love paladins and think paladin pvp is very fun, love the support role and being difficult to kill, but one wizard can ruin my entire time with just one weird trick of not being in my fucking face.

Druids can certainly tank it's just getting gear is way more difficult because all of your set pieces lean more towards caster so you have to farm very specific items to actually build a leather tank set. Druids also do much better on the AoE front so they can serve as off tanks or move into a damage role on the fly once a raid is on farm.

While druids have more armor then warriors do, they don't have the same mitigation versus crushing blows nor the same big defensive CD's to not get 2 shot by the big ass attack from the boss. Druid damage is spikey so healers will have to be prepared to deal with it where as a warrior's damage taken is much more consistent.

You can find vids of AQ40 being cleared with druid main tanks but naxx would really be the only issue as that raid really does require you to be optimal, it was meant to really challenge the top guilds at the time.

i believe things like ony head and hakkar heart had a cd on when the buff would be applied, it was several hours. So if your guild happened to have a raid time too close to another guild, you may be SOL. The dude can still turn in the quest but the lightning shit wouldn't come crashing down.

Alright. I'm going to illustrate for you a picture that you just aren't seeing: People ran Naxx. day and night, for weeks after it came out. Guess what fucking buffs they ran it with, in addition to the FrR gear from the instance itself?

While those buffs are powerful, they don't magically make the content easy as fuck. People used those buffs all the fucking time in Classic, I know, because the guild I was in ran content with those buffs. A single wipe and they're all fucking gone, then what the fuck do you do? Fuck-all. Because you're running raids with a bunch of faggots in ilvl 50 greens and blues on bosses that are crushing your tank. Sapph alone does so much AoE frost damage that he will kill you without even directly casting anything on anyone.

On top of all that the stars have to align for you to stack all that shit, and any random asshat can fuck your raid from getting them at all. While I'm not going to claim to be some god like classic raider, you're just a clueless retard arguing against someone who was actually fucking there and utilized everything to try and get through it. Every fucking week, for months. So shut the fuck up.
