These are the archetypes I encounter every time.

I started playing in 2010, stopped when the game went f2p ( but I already was playing it on and off ever since the mann co update ), then came back to it just now.
It's in a really good state I have to say. The matchmaking works and is quick, there's a lot of neat cosmetics and weapons to make unique loadouts with.
I don't see this game dying any time soon heavy update when, tho

I don't know if I agree. Sure it's easy to pick up and play but the gameplay doesn't play like it used to from the player end. People don't ever seem to know what they're doing and kinda just wander around or do nothing but hang out. The playerbase seems so different from the old days. The rocket itself is slow as fuck too. My biggest complaint when I switched from QL to TF2, and the reason why the Direct Hit is my rocket launcher of choice.

While I understand why projectile hitboxes are bigger, and I agree with that, I would like to see them fit more around the body itself.
The big projectile classes are already the best in the game, so I think shrinking the hitboxes wouldn't be too big of a nerf.

I'll give you guys a tip that some of you may not be aware of, just because I like you all so much.

While playing Scout, drink Bonk and then towards the end of the invulnerability state you can HOLD mouse1 and Scout will immediately fire his gun the very frame that he becomes vulnerable again. This gives you an edge against enemies because you can shoot them faster than they can shoot you.

I'll give you guys a tip that some of you may not be aware of, just because I like you all so much.

New Invis watch: chameleon suit. Is a pair of things attached to the ankles and a pair of suction cups attached to the hands connected by a wire running up Spy's back.
Instead of going invisible, it makes him camouflage. How that would work is debatable, maybe it just makes him invisible from a distance and starts clouding up the closer he is. While invisible, Spy is much faster and can stick to walls, so he can essentially jump up walls.

Hitreg is finnicky and doesn't work 100% of the time.
And projectiles (rockets, flames, non-hitscan) are subject to a 10ms interpolation delay unless you tweak net variables in console.

I came back to TF2 thinking I used to have bad aim and that I improved over my years away from it, only to find out how much the source engine was to blame.

I noticed things started to die down when Valve removed ad hoc connection to valve servers.

I would say its mainly younger posters regurgitating what they saw Overwatch fans say; the later caused by Overwatch salt since TF2 is actually outliving that game.
On a related note, if anyone hasn't played TF2 before you should give it a try just to see what it its at least. Its a crazy influential game, so many popular games now a days pull from it in some ways and its still actively played.
