Pretty exclusively VRMMOs for maximum escapism

>reinstalled GTA V after not playing it for a good few years

i laugh and have the biggest fucking grin on my face when i drive around and so fun shit, cutscenes are funny and well crafted. i feel like a kid again

Yes, but only through nostalgia abuse.

>Now that you are a bitter, cynical adult
No, I will never let that happen to me.
Adults who act like fucking secret agents are not "mature", they are fucking faggots who ruined their lives.
Keep your inner child alive and you will stay happy.

Monster Hunter World did

This and only this. VR gaming is a billion times better than desktop gaming. VR gaming is the true masterrace.

Goy of War
Nier automata
Nintendo seems to work for most ppl

walking into hyrule castle in BotW turned me into a 10 year old again. the joy of "simply" experiencing a game was something i thought i would never get again. i milked that castle experience for every drop.

>that could
How the fuck should I know?

Fable, just completed another 100% game last week. I always seem to go back to it every couple years.

A Hat in Time still does.

TF2 still gives me joy every time I play it.

>wonder
No, because it's a limited video game. I'll find out everything in it eventually and every feature that opens up loses its magic the instant I understand it
>excitement and joy
Most games give me a sense of excitement and joy. I love video games because I'm a bitter, cynical adult. I can hate almost everything else and everybody else in reality, but enjoy not only my aggressive escapism, but also just the general artistry and entertainment in games, good or bad.

Attached: Smoogie.png (1024x1024, 442K)

it sucks coming to this place and not being bitter and cynical. Everyone shouts you down just for giving games a chance

Xenoblade X

i've nutted to jane douglas an unreasonable number of times.

Attached: 1533006112809.jpg (522x522, 110K)

Divinity original sin 2 is doing that for me. I did start down the meta path for builds but I said fuck it and am going to ignore those for now because it was ruining my fun

A lot of games still do. Just because I hate a ton of games doesn't mean I also don't love even more.

I want to marry and impregnate her.

I could boot up mario 64 rn
Also
>implying Yea Forums isnt underage

I've always loved games, I will still love them when I'm an old man. I don't know what's wrong with you pussies, I still have a great time.

I play Fortnite regularly and unironically.
The only games I have installed on Steam are the main 3 Valve games.
I used to keep trying to stay interested in WoW but BFA finally broke my interest enough for me to not resub.

have sex with jane douglas

Kingdom Hearts

I would in a heartbeat given the opportunity.

yeah, all the games i couldn't afford or that weren't available to me as a child. my parents weren't about to buy the dot hack series for me.

A proper Yoshi's Island sequel

Not anymore. Every game made 2007 or after has been objectively 100% pure shit made for casual shit-eaters, anyone with any semblance of taste can’t enjoy them anymore. Vidya is dead.

Dragon Quest Builders is fun and cute

I don’t get why Nintendo has such a hard time getting an A-team on Yoshi games...

I’m getting hype for Three Houses, but I’ll probably end up disappointed

rocket league rumble with friends with unlimited boost gave me that feeling for the first 50 hours or so

purely for escapism purposes

Any game where you can be extremely edgy or destroy faggots in multiplayer. That gives me joy.

it's hard for games to give me 'wonder' because I'm one of those autists who translates thought into sensation so I've essentially been overdosing on my mental pictures since I was incredibly young
but if it's a game I just 'enjoyed a lot' sure, Druidstone literally just came out and I've been having a lot of fun with it
only things are Confuse slows down your side of the game too much(and the spiders are so wishy-washy about when to use it that they suffer infinite AI loops and the game eats their turns, and when it does hit cleansing it doesn't give your turn back so in the early game you lose 2/3rds of all available turns to every Confuse, and that's if you have Purify slotted)
liked the puzzles(Dispel Bombs pretty neat)
Oiko is basically the best but everyone(bar Mochizuki who has a weird ninja support/assassination style) can pull their weight INCREDIBLY fucking well, Aava's Volley is godly and Leonhard's the only party member that can reach 3-4 Armor
I was enjoying it to start but after I beat Oghmu exploding/dungeon collapsing on the last turn with no moves to spare via Fire Emblem shove shenanigans I became hooked
Power Gems are fun to play with too
also might seem a bit easy

>tfw still enjoy vidya to this day
It saddens me that there are people on this forum that have a hobby they don't even enjoy

Attached: 5XmbEcP.png (557x1062, 656K)

I don't really enjoy anything at this point in my life. Theres vidya, I also play guitar and drums but I havent touched either in over a week

Attached: 1550599290256.png (499x497, 157K)

That's a shame. Personally I'm getting off work early today, I'm gonna pick up a nice roast beef poboy before I head home, and I'm going to take some acid and rock out on some vidya. I can't wait.

>AP based instead of action based
I might have to pick this up just to support the devs.
It honestly doesn't look like it compares to some of the other games I've played like Wasteland 2 and DOS:1/2, but it looks passable and I'd ritually murder an infant to get a third Legend of Grimrock game.
Bear potions were so fucking absurdly busted.

Sure, such games show up once every 1 or 2 years. 2017 it was botw, and Nier, 18 had hollow knight. This year hasn't shown up with any such games yet.

i really enjoyed katana zero

Is she a carpet munchet? Autistic? Taken?

She has some issues, right?

I felt that when I first played Hollow Knight

Grimrock 2 was cozy as fuck at some points
>that initial beach area
>coming out of the sewer area into the nice relaxing shore
>tfw stashing your haul in that first shrine you come across and going through the river and the low level forest every time you've got stuff to drop off
then again it was also horrifying too, fuck that trapped zombie shotgun and the whole graveyard section in general
godly game though, i cant begrudge it that

Attached: comfy.png (362x362, 40K)

One thing I like about it is that it isn't shy about throwing wave upon wave of enemy at you sometimes and if you just blow your load with skills in poor ways you'll fuck yourself hard(especially in early missions with Black Knights/Centipedes)
on the flipside when it's the end of a mission and everyone's almost at(or is) 0 charges on all skills it feels like I really thoroughly used them all to their limit and it's pretty goddamn satisfying
Loved Grimrock 1 and 2 and don't mind a change of pace if it lets any ideas they have for 3 simmer
>taking the Pyramid teleporter for the first time

>is there any game that could still give you a sense of wonder, excitement and joy?
Yes the renascence of boomercore. Be it new game, new content for old games, remasters and even new amazing mods for old gems like Arcane Dimensions for Quake and Alien Armageddon for Duke Nukem 3D.

Attached: Alien Armageddon_02.webm (640x360, 2.94M)

You aren't taking enough imo if you can still manage activities.

Playing Sekiro all week since I'm sick, and the first full view i got yesterday of The Fountainhead Palace gave me chills. Hauntingly beautiful, and also really fucking huge - i was sad before that because it said i reached the last area; i thought the game was nearly over.

Attached: 1476720901427.gif (500x282, 3.65M)

Tetris effect is an experience I'll never get to enjoy for the first time again, but it's a fun ride

Subnautica did

In recent years Breath of the Wild and Persona 5 are the only games that really did it for me. Although they both released around the same time and I played them back to back. So maybe there was something else going on that month which affected me rather than the games themselves.

Games with a dev team of one person really do that for me.

Attached: Iji.png (766x512, 230K)

This, but the nitpicks are so absurd and desperate that's actually amusing watching Yea Forums getting their panties in a twist about how a veritable masterpiece is actually a shit game just because it doesn't include this autistic option nobody but the shitter gives a damn about.

lol haha

someone post the gif of her doing this with the tongue flick at the end
this is the same chick, right?

shit and bluepilled

Early 3d games.

Witcher 3 gave me that back when it launched. I'm hoping Cyberpunk 2077 will also hit those same feels.

Yeah, and I play them.

Pathologic, ECHO, Myst series, NaissanceE, and weird point and clicks.

Flock off cuhrayzeefagging zoomers. Been playing DMC since the first released and 5 was in all desu bland dude sorry not sorry. Expectations were not succeeded in the slightest. No excuse for such uninteresting level design, but you faggots lap it up anyway because DUDE muh flashy combo wank and cutscenes, bang bang xd. It only looks good when barely scraping off both 4 and the failed reboot which the latter was unironically even a more overall structurally sound game in it's own right too. No garbage forced character swapping and shifts in time back and forth fucking over the pacing too.

Attached: Featuring Dante.jpg (585x490, 97K)

Honestly you could just make a quest mod for Skyrim and I'd be pretty content

(You)

>Flock off cuhrayzeefagging zoomers. Been playing DMC since the first released
so have I. I played 1-3 at my friends house on every release. 5 was amazing. I did wish they kept areas where you could travel to areas that were of no importance and the puzzles even though they were really easy, but that's just a drop in the bucket.

That's it. Get a blast a of truth and head on back to your fujo circlejerking hive faggot.

>it bad because i say so
get a load of this boomer

>>>>>>>>>>>boomercore
You could just say classic fps without sounding like cancer incarnate

I have a lot of fun whenever one of my ccgs releases a new expansion. I do my best not to spoil myself on the cards and then I have a really good time theorycrafting and testing out new decks

Your standards are just incredibly low senpai. The game is just Itsuno's recycle bin. 5 offered absolutely nothing new to the series besides V's playstyle.

Attached: f8f8f8.lite-1.jpg (210x230, 9K)

Become cynical helps ease the pain of being an adult now. By not consuming just ANY game you can appreciate the games that you actually do like.

You also don't become a hivemind and just play games you like.

>You could just say classic fps
No son.

Attached: boomer bbq.gif (500x500, 89K)

There are lots of games that still bring me joy. I get happy every time I replay my favorite final fantasy games.

>Your standards are just incredibly low senpai.
>posts let it die reaction image
kek
>5 offered absolutely nothing new to the series besides V's playstyle
and new moves, weapons, devil triggers, and devil breakers, and then you're just going to gloss over an entirely different character with a radical change in playstyle? I don't like playing V too much because he's too disconnected from the combat to take it to the next level, but to say they didn't add anything just proves you're just going to ignore anything that doesn't support your view.

Only Bloodborne; but it is probably the best game I've ever played except maybe Vanilla Wow.

Attached: kino2.jpg (737x396, 90K)

How the fuck is an MMO someone's best game they ever played?

Wotlk is the best game ive ever played. that time in my life with little to worry about + playing with my school friends in ventrillo all night was a blast.

>and then you're just going to gloss over an entirely different character with a radical change in playstyle?
literally said besides V right there in the quote dipshit. Anyway fighting the style meter and pretending i'll ever be on dongburi's level was never the reason I fell in love with the series to begin with. Every entry dilutes the aesthetic further and adds more and more characters to shoe-horn, taking focus away from where it ever actually mattered. Maybe next DMC we'll have 5 characters and 2 new ones jumbled up in a singular campaign, fucking swell.

Attached: 1511217660324.png (938x680, 1.56M)

>literally said besides V right there in the quote dipshit.
yeah, but you act like it isn't a huge addition, when it is a radically different way to play the game, retard.
>fighting the style meter and pretending i'll ever be on dongburi's level
starting to doubt you've been with the series since day 1 if you think it's all about pulling off the most stylish moves you can and being as good as .01% of the players. freedom of gameplay during combat was what always drew me in and it keeps getting better and better.
I really wish free ride was back though.

There is always joy to be found.

Smash Ultimate gets my old blood pumping in ways it hasn’t since I played Smash 64 when I was 10.

Diddy kong racing 2 featuring banjo and kazooie from the banjo-kazooie series

>doubt you've been with the series since day 1 if you think it's all about pulling off the most stylish moves
The first DMC's moveset was a powerful but limited toolbox, not just a bunch of moves to cycle through on the enemy. Mission rankings were purely judged on Health and Time Taken, meaning it encouraged speedrunning and efficiency at the core here. Enemies did not have a lot of health and there's even one shot kills to take advantage of across the enemy roster. Sorry pal but that initiative of freestyling handcramp autism didn't take hold until 3 where they padded the enemies health and made your attacks do piss-poor damage across the board.

Attached: 1493949167821.gif (480x270, 3.31M)

>not just a bunch of moves to cycle through on the enemy
because the genre was basically still in it's newborn phase.

And by needlessly padding out the time taken to kill the enemies we're regressing.

Fuck off, tripfag. Your opinion doesn't matter

Attached: 1550327809860.png (625x626, 56K)

I'd rather have the combat be a lot more flexible and give the player more freedom than just restricting it to a dozen moves and calling it a day.
DMC1 had some horrendous camera angles even though I liked the FCA on its own, the platforming was also terrible, the enemy variety was pretty poor, some of the boss fights you were fighting the area and camera more than the actual boss, the underwater section is still an annoyance even when you just swim past everything.
I like DMC1 quite a bit, but you're quick to jump on DMC5 for small things while totally ignoring some big issues in 1.
