also I'm starting to prototype a 2d game in godot right now, spent so far a little time getting familiar with it and get a tiles working. The canon can drive around (and point and click should actually work) but all this won't be in the final game. First thing is prob getting the "character" class to work and making them move around (with AI).
I think I have a neat game idea but not sure if it will work out.

Unreal engine costs a certain percentage of your profits if you go commercial.
It's more powerful, but also more complicated and slower to get into than for example Unity. For a single dev it might not be worth it, for a bigger team that tries to do something cool it's pretty neat.
Neat. I think Indies underestimate marketing, the more you get to the finish line the more time you should invest in it or get someone to help you.
