I love crash games, but boy, it has the worst character design ever

nowadays, Crunch would be the same size as Crash, but black and with a sinister grin, red eyes and spiky hair.
Crunch is a tall chad wearing military pants and has a robotic hand just because. It's peak early 2000.

David Siller was posting these in the Crash Bandicoot - The Untold Story Facebook page for a while. They're taken down now since he deleted his Facebook account, but collectively we definitely have them all. I have most of them, including a specific "lore" page about these Lemurians he mentions, but I don't have the hard drive with me.

I like how Crunch is just what Crash would have been had Cortex's plan in the first game had actually worked.

He had one of the better designs in the remake. I'd say this one is slightly better than Crash's new model.
