As a kid, I almost never upgraded stats like STR and INT because it costed money and I didn't think it mattered at all. I lost about half the random battles I ended up in because I had no stats so I had a really hard time grinding gold. I got to like level 65 before giving up and never figured out why everything was so much stronger than me in AQ until like 5 years later when it struck me how retarded young me was. In my defense, I had never played any kind of RPG with those stats other than AQ.

unengaging combat, fully-voiced dialogue of the original is replaced with strange grunts, odd and out of place anime style. Story doesn't go anywhere interesting unlike 1 and 2. Massive difficulty spike that is essentially impossible to overcome sans long farming. Probably one of my biggest gaming disappointments, although that means i've been pretty lucky.
