I'm a shitter who has barely done any savage content because I get nervous around randoms. I usually play healer and do fine, but I've been trying to play tank and I get spooked when I forget boss mechanics.

Do tanks just study every boss before hand, or is it all "trial by fire?"

I'm clearing UWU now with NQ food and no pots. The only good gear I have is a couple dungeon pieces but that's because there's no tome or raid crit pieces in those slots. I figure the slight extra strength is less than the boost that pots would give anyway

o10s is very easy for dps since all you have to do is read the dragon's tells (like everyone else) and stack or clock spread depending on mechanic.

Actually just thinking about it I can't think of any mechanic in o9s-o12s for dps that doesn't boil down to just 'position yourself correctly'.

get gear and read a guide, it's really not that tough and once you know the firing patterns of the fights pretty much everything is trivial with the right numbers.

Nope, it really wasn't at the time. The only fight with a high enough volume of magic damage on the MT to justify DRK's mitigation was O2S. DRK still had lower DPS and lower enmity generation too, so there was really no reason to run it just for slightly better mitigation on an extreme primal-tier fight. It was slightly better for progging Neo before Shake it Off too, but that was it.

What you gotta understand about the NA GM staff is that they are literally contract workers who make $10/hr in fucking El Segundo. In order to work in El Segundo on $10/hr they have to live like two fucking hours in LA traffic away so they're driving four hours every day. They're NA workers on a JP game so they have no real power. They can collect data and huge spreadsheets of information on bot accounts and gilsellers and send it off to the JP office only to be told to fuck off. They have to work with Matt Hilton aka Bayohne who is, by all accounts, a total piece of shit and there's no guarantee that their contracts will be renewed or that they'll get hired on fully (at $20/hr last I checked, which is still dogshit for LA.) The staff are pitiable creatures and from what I've heard the work environment at the US office is godawful. Banning people for saying "fuck" is probably the only source of joy in their lives, so of course they're going to do it.

Is now, after the buffs to literally all of it's mitigation options and some of it's threat generation. Shadow wall used to have a 3 minute cooldown, dark mind used to give only 10% mitigation unless you DA'd it, and TBN was a bitch to use before they lengthened the duration and sped up the application. It went from 'why would you even bring this' to 'pretty okay for magic heavy fights and acceptable otherwise'.

ESO just feels like it was made by a worse version of Bethesda. In every aspect the game is worse than the single player games. Going through dungeons feels more linear and less rewarding than Skyrim or Oblivion dungeons, Killing an enemy and not seeing all their equipment makes combat feel worthless not to mention that the actual combat feels even worse than Skyrim's for fucks sake, even floatier with abilities that feel too restricting. Character customization is a complete joke with a vast majority of all weapon skills being tied to combat and spells feeling so generic they may as well all be level one fire spells from any other TES game. The world is too linear, the maps far too small. I don't even think there is a single map with more than 5 towns on it, not being able to go wherever you see is such a huge turn off, the load screens should not be there. Crafting is dogshit compared to Skyrim which is weird since Skyrim barely had a crafting system.
